Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor is a dark science-fiction, action, and body-horror story that emerged from the ultraviolent anime and manga boom of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The series follows Sho Fukamachi, an ordinary high school student who discovers a mysterious alien device known as the Guyver Unit. When the device activates, it fuses with his body and transforms him into a powerful biomechanical warrior called a Guyver.
The Curse of Kazuo Umezu (1990) is a 43-minute Japanese horror anthology OVA (Original Video Animation) directed by Naoko Omi. Adapted from the manga by Shiira Shimazaki, the film is based on works by the legendary horror mangaka Kazuo Umezu and consists of two distinct chilling stories:The Blood-Sucking Girl: Centers on a jealous and terrified schoolgirl who suspects her beautiful, newly transferred classmate Rima is responsible for the mysterious, ghastly scars appearing on her body.
Maryuu Senki
What makes Maryuu Senki stand out is that it doesn’t feel like it’s following trends. Many OVAs of the period were trying to be the next big sci-fi or cyberpunk hit. Maryuu Senki instead dives into folklore, curses, blood rituals, and grotesque violence. That’s a big reason it still feels unusual today.

The Heir to the Empire animation project is a long-running fan adaptation of Timothy Zahn’s novel Heir to the Empire, the book that introduced Grand Admiral Thrawn and essentially launched the old Star Wars Expanded Universe in 1991.
it doesn’t look like a Lucas film production but it’s still pretty amazing and worth checking out. It’s a labor of love. I really like it.

Theres no official streaming site yet. My guess—though it’s only a guess—is that one of the major anime streamers such as Crunchyroll, Netflix, or Hulu will pick it up for international release. Crunchyroll is often the most likely for new seasonal TV anime, but there is no official confirmation yet.
Yes. “Tank Chair” is a real, officially announced TV anime adaptation of the manga Tank Chair (Sensha Isu: Tank Chair) by Manabu Yashiro. It is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2026 (around October 2026) and is being animated by Polygon Pictures.

Provocative, poetic, and deeply unsettling, it’s a 30-minute trip you won’t forget. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for something truly unique.
