Donations for an emergency surgery needed.

So, three months ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had to have a double mastectomy. Thankfully, we are privileged enough to leave in one of the few municipalities in Caracas (and even Venezuela) with a somehow reliable, publicly subsidized health care program that allowed for my mom to have her surgery and the reconstructive surgery right away. We had to pay for the surgery but nowhere near as a much as we would have had to pay without this program. It's still been a huge strain on us.

However, reconstructive surgery often come with complications and my mom's right implant will have to be removed due to complications due to infections and stitches that won't heal completely. This one will be her third surgery, in as a many months. I know a few months ago I started a donation post to go visit my grandma, after my mom's diagnosis I had to put all that money into her treatment. Thankfully we have received the good news that she won't need chemo, which can be a very hard treatment to do in Venezuela due to economic and social conditions.

Still we'll need to pay for her next surgery, and in three months she'll probably have surgery again to try and put in a new implant.

I hate having to do this again, but at the moment I have no options left. I am currently training for a new job, but still haven't started formally and I won't be paid for training.

If any of you can spare to donate anything, I would inmensely appreciate it, and if you can not donate simply reblogging this and allowing for others to see it will help, too. Any help I get will be appreciate it.

I hate myself for doing this. And I was afraid this moment would come, but honestly right now I have ran out of options.

I will be completely honest about this, for transparency sake, this money will go to personal expenses such as pads, I can't use bar soap to shower because it irritates my skin so I have to buy shower gel which is generally more expensive, I also have to give my parents a monthly sum to help with groceries and cleaning products for the house, body lotion because my skin scabs a lot and that helps keep it under control. I also would like to pay off part of the debt I got in when I had to buy a new laptop last year because my old one stopped working. I've payed about a third of it, but still have to finish paying it.

As many others the pandemic had affected my flow of work, I work for a chinese company doing transcripts in different websites, ever since the pandemic started the projects that would normally come to us have been redirected to other teams that do them for less money. I live in Venezuela, which also doesn't help with hyperinflation running rampant and no plan in sight for possible vaccination, finding a different job has proven to be almost impossible.

And don’t go around saying you don’t care about how many brands of tomato soup there are in the market, because you do. As someone who lives in Venezuela, a country where what you like to call “the illusion of choice” doesn’t exist, I can tell you that deep down you care.

Have you ever had to buy a brand of formula that you know makes your baby sick because is the only one you can find? If not, then don’t say that all formula brands are the same.

Have you ever had to stop using your trusted brand of contraceptives, the one that works for you and doesn’t give you mood swings, weight loss or gain, acne or whatever else? If not, then don’t say this “illusion of choice under capitalism” doesn’t matter.

Have you had to stop using that one brand of sanitary pads you like because you can’t find it anymore? If not, don’t say this is not important.

Have you had to stop using the brand of wax you use, started to use a new one only to find out that even if the product is the “same” the bew brand actually causes you and allergic reaction? If the answer is no, then please don’t say is all the same.

Don’t go around pretending that socialism isn’t responsible for some big crimes against humanity just because is the “opposite” of what the USA has now.

You haven’t lived through a situation like that. So y'all need to stop acting like this isn’t something important. Because it is. It really is.

I edited out the identifiers and posted this with her permission because this stuff is too important to just let slide. If you’re the guy in the post reading this then congrats on your moment of internet infamy; learn from your shame. The play-by-play:

Guy sees a blog on Tumblr in which there is porn (among many other interests, as per normal around here)

Guy verifies that the blog is run by a pretty girl somewhat in his area and figures he’s got a shot at landing some low-effort gratification

Girl shows her understandable annoyance for his crass opening remark

Guy apologizes

Guy immediately negates any potential value of the apology by suggesting she misrepresented herself as an easy sexual target so it’s somehow not his fault for being a shallow horndog

Girl, who has had to endure this kind of unwelcome attention (too many times) before, perfectly explains to the greedy manchild why he has proven himself not worth her time.

She blocked him right after that exchange, which is the right thing to do rather than fall into a conversational trap where the juvenile buffoon predictably insists she’s overreacting and then it just gets worse from there. As of this writing, I haven’t heard if he’s tried the old “create a new account then keep harassing her” routine.

My fellow males: Your boundaries aren’t more important than someone else’s boundaries. Your masculine libido doesn’t give you free license to ignore decency and respect. I can explain those things in greater detail if you need; just send me a message and I’ll do what I can to help it make more sense. Stop making the ladies think that having a penis means you’re probably a sexually desperate and compulsively arrogant jerk. It just makes things more difficult for everyone.

I’m not saying you need to be a cloying pushover, either. I’m not saying you need to somehow switch out to a more subtle long-con to land the ladies.
