Good, because I love composing in modes but the harmonies always end up being I V and IV.
phrygian also sounds amazing with a natural 3!! it gives you I7, bII-6, bII-maj7, and III dim7 (with no avoid cadence). itās a really cool and middle eastern sounding mode, i learned it from an afghan traditional piece :-)
facebook has so much yikes itās incredible

Brahms - Academic Festival Overture
Brahms wrote this piece because he was receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Breslau [now the University of WorcÅaw], and though he wasnāt a fan for pomp and celebrity, he used it as a fun opportunity to transcribe student drinking songs, and then weaving them together contrapuntally to justify theĀ āAcademicā setting. It ends with a popular graduation commencement song as the final fanfare.

Hey woodwind players!
If youāre looking for an artist that has a similar vibe to Hozier and heavily features woodwinds most of the time then I highly recommend Cosmo Sheldrake
-He makes really whimsical music that features instruments in a way I havenāt seen a lot of people do and even has a song called Birthday Suit that is mostly bassoon and bass clarinet which like never happens!
-He also releases instrumental versions of his songs if you really want to listen to the instrumentals which are amazing on their own and also list every instrument used in the description of the video.
So yeah heās really worth checking outš I suggest Solar Waltz. Itās one of my favorites and has a good range of instruments. Happy listening!
