Okay like I have a wild theory about these siphons that illyrians wear
So what if these siphons don’t actually harness the power, but limit the power.
That’s why the more powerful a person is the more you would need.

Like they have a history of oppressing these warrior tribes and what better way to oppress and control someone than in a way where the oppressed don’t even realise it.

Why doesn’t rhysand need to wear these siphons???? I know some lukewarm explanation was given about how he’s only half Illyrian and half super powerful, the most greatest in the entire universe.
I think Rhysand’s dad or dads dad or some ancestor realised that the best way to control these so-called wild tribes with these “heathens” would be with these stones which limited their powers
And I think our Rhysand is in on it.

So they made it so that the men can’t control their own powers, and their powers suppressed, additionally the women’s wings are cut off. So there is no way that these people who have such internal conflicts among themselves, who are deemed as regressive and also poor would ever rebel.
[Side Note. How do you feel about Feyra having Illyrian wings when Illyrianwomen can’t have Illyrian wings?]
I know that Cassian and Azriel (Azreal?) are like super powerful because they’re in the “inner circle” so I just want to know the implications of them wearing the seven siphons?? I’m not a scientist so anyone with a brain please just let me know.
