also I am SO sunk over this guy. sunk like a ship in a gale. like a punctured olive in a martini. like a cost fallacy

#got to see him most of this past weekend and yeah. i am not recovering from this #he is seriously like a breath of fresh air in every situation #he's so calm and laid back and yet very mature and confident and humble and kind and hardworking and thoughtful #his dazzling smile and eye crinkles have nothing to do with this whatsoever of course #part of me feels like it's too soon after my previous relationship ended (more than three months ago now)#but i also feel very ready to move into the next phase of life #and i've been having such peace from God every time i pray for this guy and for a possible relationship with him #just trying so hard not to overthink things and not to put my own wishes ahead of God's will #whatever happens will be okay #but i am REALLY hoping he'll ask for my number / for a date very soon #he's also coming to my church on sunday because he's looking for a church to attend now that he's moved back to his hometown #and i am SO EXCITED I CAN'T STAND IT #he seems very excited about attending and there's a very selfish part of me that hopes maybe he's excited to see me too #UGH the travails of having a crush again. so delightful and exciting and wonderful and yet kind of agonizing and gut wrenching too #how much more can my nerves TAKE #jane talks

pondering the idea that's elizabeth that's the touch-starved wretched. she has a loving father, certainly! but he's one guy. the maids help her dress and do her hair and all that, but there is certainly a line she keeps between them, even if they are friendly—she's quick to shut estrella down talking about her crush on will turner. as vaulted as she is in society, that comes with distance, even in a town as small and backwater as port royal. pondering pondering the idea that chasing will and her insistence on that wedding night coming with an inability to separate romantic love and physical touch, and how much she is also yearning just to be held and understood. and to trust someone enough to let them hold her

#mmmm. this is a great insight #i feel like i overlook the first eighteen years of elizabeth's life because her pirate era is so dynamic #but yeah basically a princess her entire childhood and adolescence #this is actually something i want to chew on now as i watch her interactions with all the characters #because she'd definitely have a great handle on power dynamics. not so much on relationship dynamics #food for thought #pirates of the caribbean #elizabeth swann
