Where do spell circles store their energy? Somewhere between the energy being mana/spell slots/whatever and it being the actual effect of the spell, that energy needs to be somewhere.
A sphere is the perfect object to store mana. Just put a small one at each focal point of each magic circle

As a wizard, it is my duty to work to make my city a levitatable city. The downtown area is a glut of roads and construction, but worst of all, there are no secret tunnels or nooks that wizard’s can access when they fly around the downtown area. No places to grab whole cooked turkey legs out of the wall, no dependable locations to access mana potions and wizard weed. This is not the world I want for my wizardly neighbors.

What should I do if my spell book starts nibbling on my staff? Is this normal?
It is normal, however inconvenient, magic books love chewing on magic items , you can either train it not to chew your staff by spraying some bitter spray on your staff, or you can try to provide your spell book small bits of magic stone or wood to placate it's chewing habit. Ideally both
