she brings him chocolate whenever she goes into town because she knows it’s his favorite. she leaves it on the counter with a cute little note for him to find.
after kara mentions having a garden, she wakes up in the morning and wes has proudly built her raised garden beds.
wes isn’t big on television, but sometimes he joins kara when he finds her watching some documentary or an old movie she hasn’t seen in a while. even if later he considers it a ‘waste of time’ (cMON WES, TIME WITH YOUR WOMAN ISN’T A WASTE!)
whenever he bakes her blueberry muffins she always has to hold back a laugh because it reminds her of the day they met. she prefers his to those found in any bakery.
kara likes to chop firewood. it comes to be very therapeutic for her and her unresolved issues. it’s very obvious that her past is on her mind, and when wes sees this he stands by and allows her to get it all out but once she’s finished he hugs her and tells her that she’s safe, and that she’s home. he’s got her.
they’re building their own house together?? in the middle of nowhere virginia
while they’re building their house, they live out of a small little cramped camp/space and are basically on top of each other for months
for ‘date night’ they have to go 50+ miles to the nearest town, that really is only just a small collection of buildings, one of those buildings an old dive bar.
they drink, play pool, and eventually find themselves slow dancing to an old song that comes on the jukebox. the date ends with with a hot and heavy make-out session in the pick-up truck.
they bring home books for each other as little gifts.
wes sometimes goes out of his way to a larger town with a surplus of books and brings back something nice for her, complete with pressed flowers and a love note.
she likes to read to him, especially knowing that his mother used to do the same when he was a child.
they conceive their first child while they’re still living in the aforementioned cramped camp/space.
they plan for their children to be homeschooled. just like wes was.
