Title: Fate

Rating: G
Word Count: 394
Summary: Written for day 3 of SouRin Week 2016. Rough, mostly unedited, one-shot about Sousuke pondering the path his life will take.
Sousuke is no idealist. He believes in reality. Concrete things like physical limits, torn ligaments, times and distances. As he watches Rin leave, he knows the truth. Just as they did five years ago, the two of them will try to stay in touch. They will write letters, email maybe, text. But just as the letters stopped coming five years ago, Rin and Sousuke will fall out of touch. Sousuke knows this. Without swimming, their lives will follow different paths. Rin will rise to stardom. In that stardom, Rin will find new friends among his team. He will be where he belongs, with people to share in his dreams. Sousuke no longer can.
As for his own dreams, he can’t quite say yet. He knows he will have to find a new one. But in this way, Sousuke understands Haru’s frustration. Finding a new dream… isn’t so simple.
On the way home from the airport, Sousuke is stopped a salesperson. He is handed a little red card, a coupon for some sporting goods store. It expires today.
Shrugging, Sousuke decides he may as well as take a look. It’s on his way home, and for the time being, he wants to avoid thinking about what he must do next.
The store is having a sale on scuba diving equipment.
Bewildered, Sousuke is led away to a changing room, where he is forced to strip down and try on a wetsuit. It fits oddly in comparison to his standard leg skin swimsuits. It’s just as form-fitting, but extends all the way from his ankles to his neck. Turning around, Sousuke admits that he likes how it looks. It really accentuates his abs, his traps, his shoulders. On a whim, he decides to buy it. Perhaps he’ll get some use out of it back in Iwatobi. Maybe he’ll try to be a swim instructor like Makoto, although he’s never been good with kids.
As he approaches the register, he vaguely notices that the store is having a promotion, a raffle for every customer today. The lady at the register rings him up, and beams at him, exclaiming that he’s won.
Sousuke doesn’t look at the envelope containing his gift until he gets home. It’s a plane ticket. The promotion was for a trip to Australia.

Word Count: 643
Summary: Written for day 2 of SouRin Week 2016. Combining the two prompts “Victory&Loss” and “When We Were Kids”. Rough, mostly unedited, one-shot about a time Sousuke got lost playing hide-and-seek.
AO3Â
Looking around the unfamiliar neighborhood, Sousuke soon realized with rising dread what had happened. He was lost. It was a simple game of hide-and-seek, but Sousuke struggled with it immensely. It had been over an hour now, and he had yet to find a single person.
Now, so intensely focused on the game, Sousuke wandered into a new place he was unfamiliar with. How he was gonna get back home was anyone’s guess.
He closed his eyes and listened. He hoped to hear a familiar sound, one that would help him find his way home. If only he was close enough to…
The ocean. The waves lapping against the shore, leaving a thin film of white in their wake. Yes, it was there, faint, but ever present in their seaside town. If Sousuke could just find the shore, he would find fishermen, and they would bring him home, ruffling his hair and shaking their heads at the lost little boy. As long as he could find the ocean, he could find his way home.
Sousuke sniffed. There too was the sea, its salty smell permeating the air. After some deliberation, Sousuke followed the scent, gasping in delight when the deep blue expanse met his eyes.
Yet something even more brilliant than the sea soon caught his eye as well. A sudden shock of red, uncommon in these parts. It was a boy’s hair. As Sousuke approached, the boy turned around, startling him with equally crimson eyes. Sousuke realized he knew the boy. They were the same age, classmates, but they had never spoken before.
Rin looked at him placidly, “What are you doing here?”
“What are you doing here?”
“Waiting for my dad. Guiding him. Mom always says that sometimes she’s afraid he’ll get lost out there. We have to be good so he’ll know where to come back to.”
“Well, I’m lost,” Sousuke offered.
“I guess we’ll have to guide you back first then,” Rin gestures. “Let’s go, my house isn’t far from here.
It turns out that Sousuke’s house isn’t far from there either. Sousuke hadn’t wandered that far out; his playmates had just been extremely clever, choosing to hide within the house rather than outside in the woods. They all lined up, apologetic that Sousuke had gotten lost for it. Sousuke shrugs, but silently decides he isn’t going to playing that game again any time soon. What’s the point of playing a game where you always lose?
In the coming weeks, Sousuke realizes that he found someone during hide-and-seek after all, and that it was ultimately his biggest victory.

Day/Prompt: Day 1/Never Met & Samezuka Family
Rating: G
Word Count: 643
Summary: Written for day 1 of SouRin Week 2016. Combining the two prompts "Never Met" and "Samezuka family". Rough, mostly unedited, sad one-shot about divorce from their child Aiichirou's POV
AO3
Ai doesn’t remember much about the divorce. For the most part, he remembers being sent away to Uncle Makoto’s house, usually past his bedtime, with Momo already fast asleep. He remembers waking up in an unfamiliar bed, to the smell of roasted fish instead of pork. He remembers playdates with Nagisa, spontaneous and out of the blue.
But Ai does remember some things. The scariest parts, the things Rin and Sousuke couldn’t hide. The shouting, the slamming of doors, the cold, unbearable silence between his parents. Ai remembers the night Rin kicked Sousuke out of the house, and Sousuke couldn’t come to give Ai his goodnight kiss. In the months of the divorce, Ai spent more time with Rin than he ever had before, but there was something sad about his dad that kept Ai from enjoying it like he wanted to.
On the night Sousuke left, moved out for good, Ai crawled out of his bed, again unable to sleep without his goodnight kiss. As Ai came to the kitchen counter, he saw Rin, shoulders slumped forward, head buried in his hands. With shock, Ai realized Rin was crying.
Rin’s head popped up as he heard Ai’s footsteps. Sure enough, his cheeks glistened, and his eyes were red. Sniffling, he gestured for Ai to come over.
“Want a glass of milk?” Rin said softly.
Ai shook his head, but came to sit on Rin’s lap anyway.
“Daddy? Do… do you hate him now?”
Rin shakes his head, smiling through the tears, “No, not at all. I… I still love your daddy very much. Sometimes these things just don’t… work out like you want them too. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, things just aren’t what you wanted.”
Rin shakes, a little sob running through his body, “I love him so much. So much. When it hurts like this though, I just…. Sometimes I wish we had never met.”
He can barely finish the sentence. His tears fall on Ai’s head. Ai sits there for a moment, completely unsure of what to do now. Finally, Rin controls himself and gets Ai the glass of milk.
When Ai gets back to bed, he still can’t sleep.
Ai isn’t left without Sousuke’s goodnight kiss for long. Ai and Momo move back and forth between Rin’s and Sousuke’s houses on alternating weeks. Momo, too young to understand what was going on, found it to be an amazing adventure. Sousuke’s new house was very old, and full of antique objects. The children spent hours exploring the nooks and crannies of the place, tracking dust over every carpet and chair.
Yet, there was something all too quiet about the house. Or maybe it was Sousuke. Without Rin beside him, Sousuke’s quiet nature became all too obvious, even to the kids. Whenever Ai or Momo brought a new discovery to Sousuke, he only smiled and nodded. There was none of the exuberance and congratulations they had been used to. That had always come from Rin.
The second week Ai spends at Sousuke’s house, Ai finally finds the courage to ask him the burning question he’s had all this time.
As Sousuke walks towards Ai’s bed, Ai asks, “Daddy? Um, do you still love him?”
Sousuke’s expression is now an exhausted frown. He sits beside Ai, but looks away, deep in thought for a moment. Finally, he answers the question.
“Of course. I’ve never met anyone else so electrifying in all my life.”
Sousuke turns to leave, but Ai cries out, “Daddy! My kiss!”
He rushes back, kisses Ai, but then lingers for a moment. Sousuke looks at Ai, and his tired expression slowly changes to a fond, gentle smile.
   “But Ai? You know what?”
   “What?”
He kisses Ai again, “I love you most of all.”
Ai mulls over the idea, and finds himself content for the time being.
My gift fic for  mamodewberry for Ice-teal’s SouRin Christmas Exchange !
I’m sorry that it’s rather rough. I wrote a lot of different pieces, but couldn’t come up with anything substantial that I was happy with. This ended up being the most acceptable piece, and I thought I’d go ahead and post it rather than have it be a late present.
This is also my first NSFW writing. Eeeeeeeep. XD

Sunday mornings are slow days for Rin and Sousuke. Sousuke’s new hobby was gardening, something Rin had no interest in. Still, Rin sits beside him, curling up with a new book on swimming technique.
It makes Rin laugh to see Sousuke squatting in the garden, his teal eyes squinting in concentration, his brow knit. Sousuke is a large man in a tiny flower bed, gentle as can be.
But, Rin reflects, it makes sense. Gardening takes the one important thing Sousuke has that Rin lacks: patience. While the two of them hotly debated the technicalities of swimming, it was Sousuke who ultimately had faith in their theories. It was Sousuke who always believed that time and practice would yield fruitful results. It was Sousuke who kept training and training and training.
“Do you really need this stupid hat?” Rin says, suddenly walking over to flick the top of Sousuke’s head.
Sousuke frowns, “You bought me this hat.”
Rin grins, “Well, yeah, as a joke. Never thought you’d actually wear it. You look like you belong way out in the country. Isn’t this the guy that lived in Tokyo for a couple of years?”
The hat slips off a fraction, covering Sousuke’s eyes. He adjusts it, still looking pensive.
“I don’t want to get a sunburn. Actually, you should be wearing a hat. That pale skin is going to burn. How did you survive in Australia?”
“Pool was indoors.”
“Oh.” Sousuke smiles a little now. “Okay Rin, I’ll be a done in a second okay? Just gotta finish weeding this patch here.”
Rin huffs, and goes back to his book.
Sousuke turns out to be right, that bastard. Rin really did get a sunburn.
“Just get me the aloe vera.” Rin grumbles.
Sousuke hands him the green bottle, trying his best not to look smug, but failing in every way, “You’re so red in the face, Rin. You usually only get this way when I--”
“Shut up!” Rin kicks at his leg. “This stings like a bitch. I can’t reach my back either.”
“Here lemme help.” Sousuke gets up and snatches the bottle from Rin, squirting out a bit of the aloe vera.
“I don’t need-- Ahhh!”
The cool aloe covers Rin in an instant, soothing his aching burn, “There… a little left, no… yes. Ahhh.”
Deft fingers splay over Rin’s back, covering his red, peeling skin with the aloe vera. They’re quiet for a bit now, with Sousuke gently administering the goop and Rin wincing and groaning every once in awhile. Finally, Sousuke finishes coating Rin’s back.
“Better?”
“Yeah,” Rin says with a content sigh. “we’ll see how it feels tomorrow, but I definitely am not swimming for a bit. I’ll do land training today, maybe lift some weights--”
Suddenly Sousuke’s hand is back on his body, making a smooth trail down from his shoulders to his rib cage. Each finger traces along each rib, coming to a full circle around his sternum.
Rin is breathing heavily now, the air whistling through his teeth, “What?”
Sousuke looks down at him expectantly.
“Was this your plan all along?” Rin grunts. “Fine, fine. Can’t swim tomorrow anyway…”
On queue, Sousuke brings his lips down on Rin’s for a deep kiss. His hands curl around his face, cupping his chin. He tilts Rin’s head up and brings him in even deeper, his tongue slipping in between Rin’s lips. Rin gasps in response, but licks his own tongue forward, caressing Sousuke’s bottom lip. They kiss until they couldn’t breath any longer. Flushed faces and watering eyes stare at each other with desire.
The couch isn’t far off, and Rin settles there comfortably while Sousuke rummages around for the lube. He slips his shorts off, leaving the boxers for Sousuke. The red hair splayed across his face is still damp from the heat of the morning.
When Sousuke arrives, that red hair is parted off to the side, slicked with sweat. It’s a sensual picture, Rin with just boxers and a growing bulge, his narrowed eyes looking up at Sousuke, wanting.
“What?” Rin says, impatiently.
Sousuke chuckles, and lays on top of him, beginning to ravish his neckline with kisses.
Little moans escape from Rin’s mouth. When he opens his mouth a little wider, he tastes dirt, shaken off from Sousuke’s head.
“You have dirt in your hair,” Rin says, reaching up to brush it off. “What’d you do huh? Roll around in the flowerbed like a dog?”
“Mhm,” Sousuke licks the side of Rin’s face in response.
Rin pushes Sousuke’s face away, giggling, “Stop, that tickles!”
Sousuke just smiles mischievously. Still only using his tongue, he traces a line down Rin’s abdomen, stopping to nip at the belly button. Rin exhales sharply.
“Wait, aren’t these my boxers?”
“Just get on with it Sousuke!”
“No seriously, I’ve been looking for these for ages,” Sousuke hitches his thumb around the elastic, gentle pulling the cloth off of Rin. He rises for a moment to fold them carefully and lay them on the ground.
“You fucking tease.”
“Stop stealing my clothes,” Sousuke chooses that moment to bend down toward Rin’s thigh, trailing kisses nearer and nearer to his crotch. Rin is fully erect now, liquid sliding off his cock in shining drops. Sousuke covers his fingers in lube and finally begins to prepare Rin.
When Rin’s ready, Sousuke enters slowly, taking care with each movement. The two of them come together, full of desire, but in no rush, taking pleasure in this calm morning and the simple joy of being together.
Next Sunday morning, Rin buys the most ridiculous sun hat Sousuke has ever seen. Sousuke laughs so hard that he nearly tramples his marigolds.

Summary: Pro-wrestler AU (I am actually a wrestler in the traditional sense, but I’ve never watched pro “John Cena”-type wrestling. Bear with me.)
I am so sorry.
Haru paced back and forth, his tension rising. This was the moment. This was what all those weeks of practice had been for. He had run over their routine millions of times in his head, and yet he was still nervous.
It was just, they had never practiced with the real thing. Sousuke had never let him, always winking or smirking coyly, saying that he couldn’t let Haru in on the surprise just yet. Instead, Sousuke had worn a ridiculous teal strap-on.
He clenched and unclenched his fists. Would he be able to hold it? He had always admired Yamazaki’s bulge, but even those skimpy Speedos kept some things hidden. What if he let go? That would just be too embarassing... Nanase Haruka, champion wrestler, not strong enough to hold onto a simple dick. Well, not a simple dick exactly, but really, were dicks all that complicated...?
Haru’s face flushed as he thought about Sousuke’s dick. He couldn’t deny that he was excited. With those muscles, Sousuke’s dick had to be just as built...
“Hey.”
Haru jumped.
“What, you feeling sick? Can’t have you copping out of our big match tonight,” said Sousuke, with a teasing smile.
“O-of course not!” Haru said sharply, “You’re on!”
“I can’t wait. You’re so cute Haru,” Sousuke turned to leave, trailing his hand on Haru’s bicep on his way out.Â
Haru shivered. It was go time.
A familiar buzz filled Haru. The crowd was especially pumped tonight. It was their big rematch after all. Haru had won last time, so Sousuke’s fans were out for blood this time.
“In the blue corner we have... the Vicious Dolphin, Haruuuuuuuuu!”
Haru did his trademark move, the emo hair flip.
“In the red corner we have... the Brooding Whale Shark, Sousuuuuuke!”
Sousuke walked up with characteristic ease, making a muscle to show off his impressive arms and back.
“Now... fight!”
The match started out normally enough. Haru circled in with quick jabs, blinding Sousuke with his speed. After he backed Sousuke into a corner, Sousuke roared with new rage, pummeling Haru with devastating hay-makers. Luckily, Haru ducked out of the way just in time.
Haru went back in for an uppercut, grazing Sousuke’s shoulder. Sousuke retaliated with yet another hay-maker, which Haru again dodged. It was time.
Haru reached behind him with his right hand, finding Sousuke’s crotch. He did it! The practice paid off. Haru could find that crotch in his sleep.
Sousuke rose now, shaking his head in exaggerated fury. Sweat rolled off of him, falling upon screaming fans in the audience. Haru rose now, hand still clenched firmly on Sousuke’s now erect cock.
Holy shit, this is unreal, Haru thought to himself. The thing was massive. Haru’s hand couldn’t make it’s way around its girth, to say nothing of its length...
His left hand rose to help him hang, but it was then that Sousuke started his end of the move.
Haru jerked back in surprise. It was... growing?! How was that even possible?! Suddenly, Haru felt an electric pulse run through him. No... this was... Sousuke’s strength was really too much!
The force of Sousuke’s cock sent Haru to his knees. He grimaced, still hanging out to dear life with his right hand. No one had warned him it would be like this... but the show depended on him to hang on.
His left hand shook. Bleary-eyed, he stared out into the audience. His adoring fans had to know that he was doing all of this for them.
Haru tried to tug at Sousuke at now, in an effort to continue the fight. Sousuke just responded by baring his chest forward, deep, guttural yells exploding through the ring. Haru’s head fell, pure strength relentlessly beating him into submission.
In a last-ditch effort, Haru rose to his feet. It was then that Sousuke poured all of his remaining strength into his dick. Haru flipped completely in the air landing flat onto his back. The match was over.
In victory, Sousuke screamed, turning in circles so the fans could see every inch of perfection. It was a good match.
After the match, Sousuke buys Haru dinner in apology. They even go for mackerel, instead of Sousuke’s usual favorite.
“Aren’t you glad we practiced with a strap-on now?” Sousuke says in-between bites.
Haru is still sulking, but he nods.
“You wouldn’t have been able to handle the real thing then. But now that you’re prepared...”
Late submission for Day 2. An AU where Haru and Sousuke are spaceship pilots
Rating: G
Yamazaki Sousuke, the star pilot of the Samezuka Alliance, has only ever lost one race.
It happened early in his career, and it had an astounding effect on the rest of his career. So striking was the disappointment, so bitter the defeat, that Sousuke carries the memory eternally, engraved into his head of what loss is and why he must avoid it. From that loss, the greenhorn pilot Sousuke grew to be a pilot of deadly precision, a pilot that could make quick adjustments at speeds above the speed of light with ease.
Nanase Haru had won his fair share of races, but it wasn’t until his race with Sousuke that his career grew to the intergalactic scale. In this way, the two men were both instrumental to each other’s success.
At the time of course, neither realized the gravity of their race.
Two dark-haired pilots stare at the schedule for hyper-speed access ports. Two pairs of eyes lock on a single, flashing red slot.
“I want dinner on New Australia.”
“The access port is only offering space for one ship.”
“...”
“...”
It’s Makoto, a mechanic at Orca Intergalactic that finally breaks the silence, “You guys could go together on one ship.”
“No!” Haru and Sousuke shout in unison.
Sousuke has a better idea, “We’ll race for it. First one through the end Sakura Asteroid Belt gets dinner on New Australia, and the loser has to pay for repairs on both spaceships.”
“You’re on.”
Makoto sighs, “Haru, I just finished repairs on your ship from your last race...”
Haru and Sousuke are staring at each other so intently that they don’t even hear Makoto. He sighs, and goes back to storage to search for the new bolts the ships will inevitably need.
Haru makes a sharp right, narrowly missing an anvil-shaped asteroid. He has a steady lead now, thanks to the asteroids. Sousuke’s ship, the Whaleshark, has stronger thrusters, but in tight corners, no ship can match the agility of Haru’s Dolphin. This is the type of flying Haru loves, the sight of asteroids flying by him, the stars rushing past.
Sousuke is far behind him now, and Haru leans back in satisfaction, already tasting flaky, New Australian space mackerel.
With a metallic clang, Sousuke throws his helmet off in disgust.Â
“How could I have lost with that huge lead?” He yells, large fists slamming against the arm rests of his chair. Still growling, he charts a course back for Orca Intergalactic. The Whaleshark is missing its right thruster.
The repairs on the two spaceships costs Sousuke a quarter of his yearly salary. For the next couple months, no other pilot dares cross the Whaleshark as Sousuke practices his tight turns, nearly running his into the ground. All the while, over the Samezuka Alliance intercom all the other pilots hear a steady string of muttering.
“Haru... Haru... the Dolphin!”
Notes: Oops, sorry this is late! Day 3 coming up later tonight. Sorry for the roughness, the premise changed halfway through the writing. This is definitely not the last of this AU.
Notes: Hello everyone! I’m a new face here in the Free! fandom, and here is my first, short offering. Main tumblr is atimidtempest.tumblr.com I’m using SouHaru week as a way to speed up my writing skills. Sorry if this is rough, it is unbeta’d.
Summary: Sousuke watches Haru’s first college race.
Haru might shun the limelight, might claim that he swims for himself and only himself, but he isn’t at all immune to the energy of a crowd. There is a palpable shift in his swimming when he swims in front of a particularly supportive crowd, an electric energy that pulses through him. Today the path he carves through the water glows with a deep cerulean that can only be matched by the beauty of the sea.
When Haru reaches the end of the lane, the buzzer sounding, he emerges from the water knowing immediately he has won. The cheers are deafening. Haru searches the crowd, knowing that somewhere next to the pool is Makoto, taking notes as an assistant coach. Yet his eyes stop instead on a figure he has not seen in many years. Two pairs of blue eyes lock. Haru’s heart continues to race, and it’s not from swimming.
It’s quite a while before Haru can find the dark-haired man he seeks. There are his coaches that he has to talk to, Makoto, and the rest of his team. It takes all of Haru’s strength to stay patient. Luckily, his coaches have few corrections to give, and the team seems to take the hint. Finally, in an empty corner near a vending machine, Haru approaches Sousuke.
As usual, it’s Sousuke who speaks first.
“Good race today.”
The comment is sincere. There is none of Sousuke’s usual brooding gloom, and no hidden meaning in his words. Sousuke is genuinely congratulating Haru.
“Why are you here?”
Sousuke shrugs, “I had some business in Tokyo. Besides, I wanted to know if you’d taken my advice.”
Haru is filled with an emotion he can’t quite name just then. It’s a feeling he most associates with Makoto, but occasionally Rin as well. It’s as if Haru has been saved. As if Haru was about to go right over the side of a treacherous cliff, but miraculously, escaped the fall. Gratitude. The feeling is gratitude.
“Thank you.”
“Hm?”
“What you said... back then, about using my potential. Thank you.”
Sousuke smiles, “Well, I’m just glad you took a step forward.”
He turns to leave, but pauses to look back at Haru.
