Ok so, unfortunately, the mods of the usual sourinweek have been incredibly busy this year and were unable to organize a proper sourinweek for Rin’s birthday coming up. Likely they’ll do a bigger event later in the year when their schedules free up a bit. SO, I’ve decided to just use my blog as a host for an impromptu Rin/SouRin appreciation art for Rin’s birthday!!!! I know it’s super short notice, but I just couldn’t leave Rin’s birthday uncelebrated.
I’ll have the event run for a week starting February 2 (Rin’s bday). Just tag me in any art/fic/gifset/etc you make related to Rin and/or SouRin and I will be sure to reblog it here ✨✨✨

Hello lovelies! Due to overwhelming commitments on the part of your admins, we will not be holding SouRin week in the fall this year. *sadface* The last thing we would want is to do less than our best for the shark otp.
HOWEVER...
There will be a week-long celebration for Sousuke’s birthday held here! (Note: this is an all-pairings celebration, not just SouRin; Sousuke deserves ALL the love on his special day). Please be sure to follow, to fanwork, and to have fun in wishing our gorgeous whale shark the happiest of birthdays!
And stay tuned for updates on SouRin week in January to coincide with Rin’s birthday!! Tentative dates for our celebration are January 29 - February 5, 2017.

This video was a year in the making. Part One came out V-Day of last year and because of how much work went into it and all the encouragement I got from people and friends, I wanted to make it special - so I hope this video works... (I know that tumblr video is...... temperamental, at best sometimes...)

I need to point out that this is a SouRin video. This means that the focus of the video is SouRin, but I put in as much canon material as possible. I don’t want anyone to think this means that I overlook the friendship and importance that Ai, Haru, Makoto and Nagisa bring in this video and in the show (Not to mention, Momo, Gou, Rei and even Sei, who aren’t featured prominently here.) The point of the video was to show that even with these friends and special people in Rin’s life, there is still something missing. It’s not to say that I think he is broken or that I think he doesn’t appreciate what everyone has done for him, but I think that the feeling of a best friend (and potential lover(???)) is a feeling that is different and precious for a reason, and that’s what I wanted to show.
I do not want this to spark any shipping wars - All ships are beautiful and precious to different people. This just happens to be SouRin-focused. ... I uh... Hope this makes sense...!
