THE REVEAL
Ohmygod quite a lot of planning went into this.
I WROTE A RIDDLE. IT WASN'T EASY.
The answer to the riddle was chess, (partly because i asked Nyx if they liked chess and wanted to play a game with me) and it was hinted at by the black and white theme. Shades of gray was a hint to Conan Gray, but also a quote from my no.1 Spotify song last year, Getaway Car (the ties were black, the lies were white, in shades of gray in candlelight).
The second puzzle was a lyric from conan gray - again, because I listen to exactly three of his songs 😭 - and I changed win to wynn. This is because it's from my Emotional Dictionary, and means "air joy". I've used it in a fic ninahufflepuff is reading...just in case they saw it. And it was decoded by shifting along 4 times...because I'm the fourth to do this.
Wynn was the key to the lyrics of the next song, which is called Haunted. Like the TS song, and it's definitely not a secret that I love that song.
The fourth clue has a quote from a Skulduggery Pleasant book. But I wanted to make it VERY clear that I'm only joking. Then I emphasised Rainbow, The, End's. The Rainbow's End is a lyric from Seven Wonders by Fleetwood Mac, which i added to my intro. I tried to hint at it by saying Nyx was on the right track with lyrics...
And THE LAST CLUE. r, s. Robin Stevens. Hazel. Identifying with a tri-national character. These were things only Vince could know, so I was REALLY hoping he'd join in😭
the title is from macbeth, which was Nyx's favourite Shakespeare when I once asked what Shakespeare play everyone liked. The title references vex...Dexter Vex. I even started being nicknamed that 😭
