About the Muse
@museaquarium from ask
"I'm also going to be bringing Maria with us, as well. You know as well as I do that she'd never let us hear the end of it if we didn't bring her along--especially if it causes her to miss out on 'cute creatures'."
Aesen knew there was no way he'd be able to make it just Richter's problem if Maria wasn't allowed to tag along, so he was eliminating that problem immediately.
"The starters of each region are grouped into three to make it easier to look through them. I could have sorted them into groups by type instead of by region, but that would have been way too confusing for someone with little knowledge who's just starting out."
Better to make things as easy to grasp as possible, because Aesen knew he was going to be explaining a lot as the journey went along.
"I'll also be securing a means of communication for both of you, as well--just in case I need to head off to take care of other things while we travel."
As if on cue, a special phone suddenly flew out of Aesen's pocket and began to hover near him. However, the ring that adorned the back of the phone's case, as well as some of the other small decorations on the case itself, were purple in color--and there were red gems and a red button adorning the case as well.
"I'll always have my phone on hand, though, so you don't need to worry about not being able to reach me in some way."
"Oh yeah, I need to go grab my ancestor and drag him on a Pokemon journey."
Aesen hasn't forgotten about that. Richter better be prepared to see all the sights, and Aesen's prepared to answer a lot of questions as they travel. Who knows? He might even build a team for himself, too!
"The Hall shouldn't connect to this place. That means I'll need to have a chat with the Envoys--the Unown--when I get back."
Aesen's tone had softened, but only slightly--he was still plenty upset, and genuinely worried, but at least it wasn't directed at Gladion anymore.
"I still need to get you out of here. If you can't walk, I'll carry you--but you cannot stay here, Gladion. This place is extremely dangerous, and death is a very real possibility for you here."
"I've been trying to get out of here since arriving. I learned REAL quick that this place is bad news."
Gladion's going to try and get himself to stand steady, his pride not wanting him to be carried again. It's bad enough he had to be carried once already... And another time by Arvie! His pride can't take another hit like this. So, he plans to push through the pain and stand on that lightly bandaged but still bleeding leg.
"But show the way. I want to go back to bed and hope I forget this place."
If he can... But he's sure this place might haunt his nightmares.
"You're barely able to walk. Up you get."
Aesen would lift Gladion into his arms before walking out of the room--and pointedly ignoring the sounds of combat and gunfire in the distance. He'd help deal with that once he was certain Gladion was safe. But for right now, he was heading off to the nearby lantern and setting Gladion on his feet... just in time for the Messengers to appear around the lantern.
"They're friendly. They'll take you to safety--a couple of friends of mine will patch you up while you wait, so just sit tight at my house until I get back, okay? Please don't wander off anywhere else."
@breaking-the-boundaries
Aesen would step forward, taking a moment to size up the door--as it had been open the last time he visited this place... before lashing out with a sharp kick and causing the door to slam open with force. The noise likely attracted the attention of any hostile hunters in the immediate area, but he trusted the Good Hunters to handle that for now. He was going to be a bit preoccupied for the moment.
As Aesen stepped into the doorway, he would be giving Gladion a stern look. It was a look that made it clear that the blond was in for a lecture for this.
"Come on. I'm taking you to the nearby lantern--the Messengers will take you to safety while I help the Good Hunters canvas the area to make sure there aren't any serious threats, and someone I know will be waiting for you in that safe area in order to patch you up. But once I get back, Gladion... we're going to have a talk."
Yeah, Aesen was not happy, and Gladion was in deep trouble for this.
@breaking-the-boundaries
"A talk?! I should be asking you how the heck I ended up here!"
That tone has him already on alert. It has his whole body tensing. He understands why the other may be upset, but Gladion didn't willingly choose to come here! He didn't willingly choose to leave the Hall of Origin at all! He's trying to pick his hurting body up as mouth ran to try and explain things.
"I had been looking to ask you something in the Hall- And then I tripped on something and... Next thing I know I was outside this place... And the some shady people attacked and..."
He looks down towards one of the gashes on his leg, gritting his teeth as the pain was shooting back through him.
"I don't know what's going on...! I just wanted to ask one dumb small question!"
And somehow he was severely punished by the universe for it!
Aesen would pause as soon as he heard the door begin violently shaking, turning to look in that direction and noticing that the bloodstains lead toward it.
That, in turn, told him exactly where Gladion was--and that he was the one shaking the door, which meant the kid had locked himself inside.
Well, it was better than the alternative. Aesen would take it, although Gladion should probably expect a small lecture from Aesen in future about this.
"Step away from the door, Gladion--you have five seconds."
The voice was loud and firm enough to make the reason for the warning very clear: that door was about to be kicked open, and Gladion did not need to be in front of it when it WAS.
@breaking-the-boundaries
The blond didn't even need 3 second to get away from that damned door. Frame one; his back is immediately pressing against the farthest wall from the door and away from where it was likely about to go flying at. He wasn't going to be hit by a door today after all the shit he's already been through-!
He was already dirty, bloody, and fucked up enough as it was!
Aesen would step forward, taking a moment to size up the door--as it had been open the last time he visited this place... before lashing out with a sharp kick and causing the door to slam open with force. "Let's see... he's got blond hair, he's definitely got the look of a punkass... I spotted him in the Hunter's Nightmare-"
Jake can't even get another word out before he has to move out of the way - Aesen's sprinting right past him and out the door.
"Oh man..."
Without another word, Jake follows after him. This was going to be one of those kinds of days, wasn't it...?
@breaking-the-boundaries
Aesen...?
Hearing that voice, and seeing that familiar shape- The teenager would think he almost hallucinated it, but knew it had to be real. Aesen's been looking out for him and the others. It's how he's sure what he's seeing is real as he gets up, just barely under the window which kept him from being seen, to grab the knob of the wooden cell door and try to open it in a hurry... Only to be shocked when it doesn't budge.
What?
The shaking of the knob becomes more erratic as he tries to get it to open. Damn thing was just working a bit ago-! how is the damn thing stuck NOW?! With Aesen in the others so close by! Gladion can't even speak as he becomes frustrated. Hands are violently trying to shake the knob in an attempt to try and get it to open. It eventually turns into him practically try to body slam the door while turning to knob... Making the scene of the door just violently shaking from some "unknown force" that was just a frustrated hurting teenager too angry to speak because he locked himself inside a cell.
Aesen would pause as soon as he heard the door begin violently shaking, turning to look in that direction and noticing that the bloodstains lead toward it.
That, in turn, told him exactly where Gladion was--and that he was the one shaking the door, which meant the kid had locked himself inside.

@breaking-the-boundaries
"...The blood trail leads this way. Let's just hope we're not walking in on a worst-case scenario..."
That was Aesen's voice, although it seems he's not the only person in this place--from the sounds of it, there were two other people with him, and they were looking for something. But how did Aesen even get here in the first place?
Well, that was its own explanation.
Several minutes earlier...
"For the last damn time, Hisao--no, I'm not taking you to see that world yet. I'm still trying to assess just how much damage there is before I even think about bringing you or Jaden along to help in the cleanup. Not to mention that I'd need to let everyone there know about the two of you."
Aesen would be leaning back in his chair as he looked to his husband, although he was clearly irritated with the chuckling the other gave him.
"Oh come on, Belmont. You're just scared that I'll teach some of the locals a few tricks on how to get on your nerves."
"Keep it up, and I'll make sure your next death is extremely violent, Kojima-"
Aesen would suddenly pause as he suddenly heard a knock at the front door to his house, and he would turn his attention in that direction.
"Front door's unlocked. You can come in."
@magicandcuriosity
"Hey, Aesen. We've got a bit of a problem here..."
Jake walks into the house, and he's got a serious look on his face.
"I know Yharnam like the back of my hand normally, but today I'm sensing someone here that wasn't here the other day. Of course we know that nobody's come here for the 'miracle treatment' in ages, so this is troublesome."
(next up: @a-watchful-gaze)
"Someone new? Does Nox know about this already?"
Yeah, Aesen was definitely worried, and he was on his feet immediately. "Where are they, and what do they look like?"
He was really hoping he hadn't been followed here, although if he was... he had a strong suspicion as to who the most likely culprit was--and that was going to be trouble in itself, depending on the location.
Aesen could only hope that the individual in question didn't wind up somewhere extremely dangerous.
"I'll let the kiddo know you've left, Aesen." Hisao nods--he could tell that this was serious, and needed to be handled immediately.
@magicandcuriosity
@a-watchful-gaze liked for a starter!
“When do things go wrong?”
All he had done was follow Aesen wanting to ask something small. Something so insignificant... But there was a stumble somewhere, somewhere Gladion fucked up. The next thing he knew he had come into hostile territory with people who wanted to kill him on sight. A shot to his shoulder, a few close calls with pitchforks and sickles, and even nearly being it with a goddamn molotov...
The blonde was lucky to have even survived all that. His upper left arm still screamed with agony from that bullet wound, other gashes and cuts decorating him... But he somehow managed to find some sort of sanctuary. It was within an underground cell he somehow managed to slip into, having managed to move the cell door shut and avoid detection from what lurked.
It's cold in this room, but safe, the only place he can hide and get his bearings. A million questions are swarming in his mind and the adrenaline is starting to wear off. He's tried to bandage his wounds with whatever fabrics he's managed to snag during this nightmarish trek. This lets him just lay down and stare at the ceiling, trying to look at his Rotom Phone.
No signal...
A sigh leaves him before he hears something outside. His breathing comes to a stop as he tries to peek through a small hole in the door, daring not to go up to the normal barred window and risk being seen. Heart races as he hopes that whatever threat could be approaching wouldn't care enough to try and check this room...
"...The blood trail leads this way. Let's just hope we're not walking in on a worst-case scenario..."
That was Aesen's voice, although it seems he's not the only person in this place--from the sounds of it, there were two other people with him, and they were looking for something. But how did Aesen even get here in the first place?

Do you like the eldritch? What about eldritch muses? What about eldritch muses who used to be human, and who are capable of walking into your dreamscape to either wreck your nightmares or sit down for a friendly chat just because they're interested in you?
If any of these interest you, feel free to hit the follow button just so you can see what sort of crazy shenanigans happen on this semi-fandomless blog. Just remember to not ask too many questions of the eldritch, as there are some things the human mind isn't meant to know...
Like this post if you want an eldritch entity/Arceus showing up in your inbox--either by chance encounter or by him walking into one of your dreams. If you're a multimuse or you have RP sideblogs, please specify which muse you want me to have him encounter.
I will be prioritizing unique encounters over the 'usual interactions'.

Gene is silent for a while as he continues to sip his tea, but it's clear that he has a lot on his mind.
"...it is true. Every word of it. I've been looking so far into the future that I've lost sight of the here and now... and while I can't change what's already happened, I can take steps to fix things in the present."
He sighs, putting his cup down and looking at Aesen with a sad smile. "...thank you. You've told me something that I needed to hear, and I'll do my best to prove to you that I'm taking your words to heart. Spending more time with him... letting him know that it's not a race; that there are no real 'deadlines' to speak of..."
"...I suppose we both had something to learn, hm?"
"Family is one of the most important things to me, when you consider all that I've endured." Aesen nods as he set his teacup down.
"So you were right to ask for my advice on the matter, and I'll agree that we both had something to learn this evening. Rest assured that I'll be checking in with your son regularly to make sure you're following the advice I gave you to the best of your ability. If you're not... I'm sure Yukin wouldn't begrudge me making a bit of a personal intervention to force you to spend time with him."
And Aesen would gladly do it, too. He was very protective over his other selves--he wanted them to have happiness, and to not suffer like he has.
"Still, this dream can't last forever, and you've got a promise to keep. Please don't make me pay an unpleasant visit to the Hall of Origin, Gene. I don't wanna do that."
"It's hard to let go of instincts that have been with you for all your life... but if life was easy all of the time, then where would experience come from? A lot of someone's experience comes from hardships and setbacks, from mistakes and failures... the eventual success is a result of that experience."
Gene sighs. "...of course, I can't say that I'm entirely happy with how I've handled things... no doubt you've heard of my son. The one that shares your name. And if you have, you must have your own opinions on how I've handled matters... the truth is that I want to be a better parent, but the problem is figuring out just what to do to get to that point."
"I wouldn't know--my own father died when I was a kid, and I was raised by my uncle."
Aesen shook his head. It was definitely still a sore subject.
"But yeah, I've heard of him. I've had a few conversations with him, too--his hopes, his fears, the people he looks up to... all of it. But I do agree that you've made some pretty big mistakes when it comes to him. Some of your decisions I can understand in terms of reasoning, but they say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions."
Good reasons though they may have been, it didn't justify the pain the other went through.
"If you want my opinion? Even your method of 'preparation' could use work, Gene. He's feeling a lot of pressure to live up to your expectations, and he's breaking himself to meet them in what could be considered a 'marathon'.
He has no idea how long he has left in your world, and he has so much that he wants to do and accomplish while still maintaining his training. He's not being allowed the chance to live, to be a person.
He sees himself as the 'Son of Origin', progeny of the Legendary Hero--with all the pressure and expectations that come with that role. The eyes of not just your world, but of this entire subset of worlds, are on him right now. He feels that if he fails or messes up even once, he lets you down and ruins your reputation."
Another sip of tea. It was definitely a lot to take in.
"Spend more time with him. Tell him to take things at his own pace, instead of letting him feel like he has to meet benchmarks at certain points in time. Go with him on adventures, to see new things. Remind him that he is more than just the 'Son of Origin'--he's 'Genitor's son'. Your son, and that doesn't come with any pressure to be something that the worlds want or expect him to be."
Aesen would then look at Gene directly once more.
"...Be 'his dad' instead of 'his Arceus', Gene--because you'll never know what you have, and what you'll miss... until it's no longer there. By that point, it's too late to rewind time, even with a Dialga at your beck and call. Take it from someone who knows."
"...well, all of us had to start from somewhere."
Gene pours himself a cup of tea, smiling.
"You're going to make mistakes during your time as that world's Arceus. It's inevitable - anybody who says they're perfect is lying. I know I'm not perfect - I've made many mistakes, especially when it comes to my own son. But it's important to realize your mistakes, own up to them, and work on correcting them."
'...You definitely made mistakes in regards to him, old man.'
Aesen wasn't gonna press on that nerve yet, instead keeping that thought to himself for the time being. Instead, he'd force his focus back to the immediate topic as he took a sip of his tea, gathering his thoughts as he swallowed it down.
"Yeah, I suppose you've got a point. Then again, when I've lived with a 'life or death' mentality for so long, it's difficult for me to keep from transposing it onto other things--including things where that mindset shouldn't apply.
I... guess that's part of the reason why I'm so terrified of messing up somewhere. Arceus are protectors and guides by general nature. Combat and survival is all I've known, so trying to push that aside for this role is... difficult, to say the least--especially when there's the lingering fear that someone will die if I mess up somewhere with this."
"But of course. Follow me."
Gene would lead Aesen off to a quiet guest room. As the two of them sit down, a teapot and two teacups materialize on the nearby table.
"Since this is my dream, and I am an Arceus... at least I can make you feel at home while we chat."
"Thanks."
Aesen would pour himself some tea, but as he picked up the teacup, he'd sigh softly.
"...I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. Managing small groups is one thing, but an entire world? I feel like I flung myself into the deep end on an impulsive decision, and I'm worried about making things worse rather than better for the people of that realm. How do you--or any Arceus really--manage to govern an entire world like this? It feels like a lot of pressure, where one mistake could cost you everything."
@castelias-comeups from ask
"You catch on quickly."
Aesen would stand up from the Seat of Origin, and his smile would fade as he looks to Gene directly. Time to get serious.
"I apologize for the 'manner of conversation' being completely unorthodox, but maybe it's better this way. We're less likely to be bothered while we chat, and we don't need interruptions--especially from Yukin.
Anyway, you know your Hall of Origin better than I do, even in the realm of your dreams. Is there any place for the two of us to talk? This is going to be a lengthy discussion on both sides, after all. Plus, I suspect that there's something you need my help with just as I need yours. Call it a hunch, or maybe experience."
