im trying to go to school for fashion styling and taking a summer class for fdim in a couple months, what did you do to get into the fashion industry and would you say its worth it?

getting into it is all about the people you know, as much as i hate to say it. that being said, network naturally, don't social climb and don't put up a false image of yourself as you really just want to be as authentic as possible. most of the people i've worked with ended up being personal friends and i feel that's more valuable.

whether it's worth it or not depends on what you do. i do styling, design and different mediums of art. it's overworked, generally underpaid and unless you get a solid gig somewhere it's few and far between for a while. i found a lot of personal satisfaction through it which i loved but financially long term it was really hard which is why i had to bounce around with everything i work on.

if you have a passion for it it's worth it. i wish you luck and don’t be afraid to take risks
