Shin was having terrible headaches. He was working on expanding the range of his ESP and the time of his future vision. He was working nearly every day, and it resulted in headaches. Normally, he would take medicine and be okay, but today was different. He overworked himself the day before. Sakamoto's Store was so packed, he could not only hear their loud voices but also their thoughts.
In the evening, the store wasn't as crowded as before, just some old ladies. Shin actually liked hearing their thoughts. They were mostly about family members, food recipes, or not finding a specific product.
"Here's your flour and cornstarch, ma'am."
"Oh my, how did you know? I appreciate your help, young man."
"You're welcome, ma'am. That will be 900,00 yen."
The old woman paid and left; she even gave him a tip. After that, the store was empty. He wasn't allowed to play with his phone during work hours, but no one said anything about reading. He started reading Tokyo Revengers. He was so absorbed in it that he didn't notice the man in front of him.
"Are you ignoring me or not?" Shin jumped when he heard his voice.
"I'm so sorry, let me- oh, it's just you." Natsuki rolled his eyes and put hygiene products on the counter.
"And I don't even wear my suit. You're just blind."
"Shut up, bastard," he quietly scanned items. That surprised Natsuki, he was expecting to get yelled at. After a minute, Shin spoke again. "I'm surprised Mafuyu didn't come."
"He was too lazy to come himself, so he sent me instead."
Shin giggled and put everything in a bag. Natsuki noticed that Shin had more visible eye bags, and his voice was less loud. He didn't yell at Natsuki much. He looked... tired. There was definitely something wrong with him. Natsuki wanted to ask, but didn't. It wasn't his business. They weren't lovers or something. Shin didn't understand why this annoyed him.

4 days later, Mafuyu came to buy some snacks. But it wasn't the only reason. He didn't see or hear about Shin for 2 weeks and started to wonder why. Usually, Shin would send him memes or check in on him. Shin didn't ask him how school was or what he was doing nowadays. It was weird. Mafuyu found the blond man rubbing his temple with closed eyes. He looked exhausted. He put on a fake smile when he noticed Mafuyu.
"It's good to see you, Mafuyu. How are you doing?"
"You didn't text me, why?"
"I was working and must have forgotten to reply to your messages, sorry," he said as he checked for any unread messages. There were some, but from Lu and Heisuke. "I don't see any unread texts."
"Not like that." You haven't checked on me. Shin smirked as he read.
"You came here cause you were worried about me. How cute."
"Shut up, old man! I just wondered if you die." His cheeks were pink. Fortunately, Mafuyu was wearing a mask so that Shin couldn't see his cheeks. But his ears gave him away.
"You look exhausted. Why?"
"Nothing serious, just I've been working on my ESP. It tires me."
Mafuyu studied him for a while. He didn't appear to be lying, but he wasn't telling the whole truth either.
"I'm genuinely fine, Mafuyu. I'm just tired and have headaches. Nothing serious"
Mafuyu just nodded. After talking for a while, Mafuyu went home. He found his older brother lying on the sofa.
"By the way, your boyfriend looks sick. Be there for him."
"What are you talking about? I don't have a boyfriend."
"Shin has headaches due to mind-reading."
"What am I supposed to do? It's not my problem? And we're not dating."
"Just go and ask him out. You look pathetic."
"Shut up. I don't like him."
"Whatever you say, idiot brother." Mafuyu said as he went to his room, leaving Natsuki with his thoughts. Did he really have a crush on Shin? Sure, he didn't want to see Shin tired or upset. He didn't want Shin to get injured. He liked seeing his smile and hearing his laughter. Shin's fake smiles annoyed him. But wasn't it normal for friends? He didn't have many friends to know the answer. Yet, he worked harder to finish his project.

Shin had migraine worse than ever. The store was crowded, and he was working with Lu and Heisuke. Their voices were alone enough to drive him mad. Everyone was loud, everything was loud, and worse, pills didn't work. He was overstimulating and on the verge of tears. Lu nudged him to snap out of his daze.
"Earth to Shin! Natsuki's calling for you."
"Ha?" He looked up to see Natsuki standing there, arms crossed, with an annoyed expression.
"Didn't Mafuyu come yesterday?"
"Can you come outside. I want to give you something."
"What's that?" Natsuki looked at him, irritated. "Okay, okay, I'm coming. Lu, can you take care of it alone?"
"I'll be fine. Just go."
Shin followed Natsuki to the smoking area. The smoking area was mostly empty since no one was smoking. They sat down on a bench. Their knees were touching because the bench was small. Even though it was a ghostly, almost imperceptible touch, Natsuki's focus kept drifting there. It wasn't an unpleasant touch, it was something else.
After a minute of silence, Shin spoke. "Are you here to give me a new Power Glove?"
Natsuki's attention turned to the blond man. "Not a glove but a headphone."
Shin took the headphones with a weird expression. "This is surprising. Why tho? You're not the kind of guy who gives stuff for pure kindness."
To be honest, Natsuki didn't know why either. He worked for days for these headphones. Shin didn't ask for his help, but Nasuki felt like he needed to do it. He just wanted to take the discomfort and unnecessary headaches from Shin. He realized Shin was looking at him curiously the whole time. He didn't wear his hood, so Shin could read his mind.
"Mafuyu said you have migraines, so I made this. Headphones can block electromagnetic brainwaves. When you wear them, they should prevent your ESP," he said casually. He was nervous. What if Shin thought he overstepped his boundaries? Shin was weirdly quiet. When Natsuki looked at him, he saw that Shin was wearing headphones.
Suddenly, it was quiet. Too quiet. He could hear birds chirping, car noises, and children's cries. But not thoughts or mind. It was so calming. He felt the wetness dripping down his cheeks. He was crying.
Natsuki didn't understand why Shin was crying. He looked happy and relaxed. He couldn't help but wipe the tears flowing down Shin's cheeks.
"I can't read your mind. I can't read anyone's mind."
"Yeah, that's why I made this."
Shin suddenly hugged Natsuki. His heart skipped a beat. He didn't like touching people, but didn't mind Shin. His warmth was calming, comforting. He wanted more. He wrapped his arms around the blond's waist.
"Thank you, Natsuki. It means so much to me."
"You're welcome, Shin." While Shin snuggled against Natsuki's neck, the black haired man pressed him to his chest. Both of their hearts were racing. None of them wanted to ruin the moment. Natsuki pressed his face into Shin's hair. Now he knew the answer. He liked Shin.
"I don't have to look to know you're thinking," Shin said as he straightened up. His cheeks were pink.
"-ke you," Natsuki muttered some incomprehensible words. He was red.
"What?"
"I like you, Shin." Now both of them were red as tomatoes. Shin stuttered.
Natsuki didn't have time to react when Shin pulled him into a kiss. It only lasted a couple of seconds, but enough for him, not Natsuki.
"I like you too."
Natsuki clung to Shin's lips. This time, the kiss was long and full of feelings. They didn't need to say anything more, the kiss was enough to express their feelings. Shin was the first to withdraw. Both of them were flustered, and they were out of breath. Shin leaned against Natsuki without saying anything. Natsuki put his arm around Shin's waist and pulled Shin close to him. They stayed like this till Lu saw them and screamed in excitement. Natsuki couldn't wait to rub this in Mafuyu's face.
