The new MTA Night Map is out! Highlighting overnight subway service throughout the subway, the newest version also features stunning faceted glass artwork by artist William Low titled A Day in Parkchester, installed in 2011 at the Parkchester station on the 6 line. For the first time, this collectible map also includes poetry. “We selected Awaking in New York by Maya Angelou along with our partners from the Poetry Society of America because we loved that it captured the spirit of the city awakening to a new day,” said Amy Hausmann, deputy director of MTA Arts & Design. “To celebrate the legacy of Dr. Angelou, this poem will be featured as part of our Poetry in Motion program and will be seen in subways and buses soon.” Enjoy!

Hello Everyone, AAF-CCNY will be collecting chapter dues for Fall 2013 - Spring 2014 starting Monday, September 16th. At this time we are only accepting personal check or money order. Dues are $55 and are due by October 17th latest! Paying your membership dues provides you access to the wealth of resources available to AAF members. These resources include:

Access to AAF Job Bank which provides exclusive access to jobs & internships.

Discounts on AdWeek & Advertising Age publications.

Access to the AAF Mosaic Career Fair.

Scholarship opportunities like AAF's Most Promising Minority Student Program.

Access to exclusive events such as the AAF Student Conference on Advertising. 

All checks and money orders should be made payable to Cadine Kenton (AAF-CCNY Treasurer). Payments should be given to either Madeline Diaz (Chapter President) or Cadine as you will have to sign our roster along with your payment to receive a receipt. Please follow us on Facebook or Twitter as we'll be posting the exact times we'll be on campus to take payments. However we will definitely be available to take payments between 12 - 2PM on Tuesday and after club meetings on Thursday.   On another note AAF-CCNY is making preparations to attend this year's AAF Student Conference on Advertising. This event is open to members and non-members. We will be discussing this event at our first meeting of the semester. Please be on the look out for future emails regarding that. Lastly, ADVERTISING WEEK 2013 IS ALMOST HERE! Which means you have an opportunity to volunteer or attend Here Are All the Black People, a creative career fair produced by The One Club of Art & Copy and sponsored by our own MCA department.  The MCA department has also acquired tickets to Advertising Week and will be partnering with AAF-CCNY to host a 24 hour contest towards the end of next week.   More information on HAATBP and Advertising week can be found on our Facebook,Twitter, Tumblr pages as well as the MCA department's Facebook group.  Best, Cadine Kenton AAF-CCNY Treasurer
