Ramadhan is about getting closer to Allah. It’s a month about change. If you feel that you’ve sinned so much you can’t turn back to Him, take this month as an opportunity to repent and purify your heart. Know that His doors of Mercy are always open. Never think you’re far away from that.
A righteous man once said:
“If you want to know your worth in the sight of Allah just see what he has occupied your life with.”
The Early Muslims were able to count their sins!
al-Qayṣī: “I have exceeded forty sins (in my life) and I’ve sought Allāh’s forgiveness for every sin one hundred thousand times.”
● {Hilyāt al-Awliyah (v. 6, p. 194)}
قُلْ يعِبَادِىَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُواْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُواْ مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ﴿
Translation: Say: “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allāh!”
Abdullah ibn Mas’ūd: This is the verse in the Qur’ān which brings the most relief.
● {تفسير ابن كثير ٣٩:٥٣}
al-Khaṭṭābī رحمه الله: ”Allāh’s name 'at-Tawwāb' means: He who accepts His slave's Tawbah every time they repent”
● [الأسماء ٩٩]
Conditions of repentance:
١. Abandon the sin.
٢. Feel remorse.
٣. Strive to not do it again.
{Sharh Saheeh Muslim by Imaam an-Nawawee (v. 17 p. 25)}
Ibn ‘Awn was never angry.
If a man angered him he would say to him: May Allaah bless you.
● {Tibb ar-Ruhani (p.51)}
Khabbāb ibn Al-Aratt رضي الله عنه said:
“Seek closeness to Allah with whatever you are capable of! For verily, you will not seek closeness to Him with something more beloved to Him than his His speech!”
[Usūl Al-I’tiqād: 156]
When My servants ask you [O Prophet] about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond with obedience to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided to the Right Way.
[Sūrah al-Baqarah, Verse 186]
My Lord, give us joy in our spouses and offspring. Make us good examples to those who are aware of You
ربنا هب لنا من أزواجنا وذرياتنا قرة أعين واجعلنا للمتقين إماما
Rabbanā hab lanā min azwājinā waḏurriyyātinā qurrata aʿyunin wa-jaʿalnā lilmuttaqīna imāmā
[Sūrah al-Furqān, Verse 74]
Whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make a way out for them, and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He alone is sufficient for them.
[Sūrah at-Talaq, Verse 2-3]
