My name's Aali. Not really, it's just what everyone online calls me. I do not follow back 100%. For two reasons: One because you post things that I do not want on my dash, and you neglect to tag your posts so that my blacklist doesn't save me from them, or because I have no clue who you are. I will only follow someone if I know who they are in the fandom, or if I've spoken to them at some point in the past. Don't like it? Don't follow me. Simple as that. This is not a spoiler-free blog. Don't like it? Once again, see previous statement in regards to following me.
Im rewatching s6 for the first time, hoping it will get the creative juices flowing, cause I wrote about 200k in the 2 months after the chenford breakup. Im kinda hurting for inspiration.
Im at the fight with the Hammer.
T.O. Tim would have made Lucy fight The Hammer... and we all know it.
Im at that point in my bensler fanfic search where im relegated to the fics from right after OC premiered.... which suck for one reason and one reason only. Reading fics written during a characters infancy (in this case sergeant bell) after 5 years of canon character development makes almost anything anyone wrote at the time sound incredibly out of character and takes me out of the fic
Thorsen's back, Monica's dead, Glasser gets (justifiably) fucked by the family court system, tim's heartfelt and moving speech about Lucy, hopez and jauarsen giving their 2 cents about the ring, Joy helping tim pick it out.... my only complaint about this episode is.... ive seen that jeweler story in a fanfic. Like almost word for word and I just have to find it. It's definitely a fic that was completed prior to s8 premiere and iirc might even be before s7 premiere.... so stay tuned while I go through every fanfic older than a year and larger than 80k words.
Maybe, just maybe ill find it before they get married
Im a firm believer that tim lied to his mother about the ring being fake. That being said, if I were Tim, id have split the gaudy ring up for its parts, make a ring out of the diamonds and a necklace for Lucy out of the amethysts. The individual parts are great, the grouping is what kills it.
Always fun getting death threats on tiktok because i pointed out a heartbreaking fact about a celebrity who has been dead for 16 years and her at the time very young co-star who will be older than her in about a week.
The less religious you are, the more likely you are to believe in aliens.
Religion is used to give life meaning, and studies show that people without religious beliefs are more open to simply believing in extraterrestrials – even in the absence of actual evidence.
I miss having friends who shared my fandom obsessions. Cause the best part was being able to sound board each other on our fics and not have to explain canon or the established ficanon because we always resd eachothers stuff.
For 7 months i was at a desd end in terms of writer's block on my biggest fic and now i have inspiration and a general plot but executing it the way i want to... is near impossible and i just need that cheerleader.
Oh well, here i go trying to write the last few chapters of Bloom on Earth and the sequel. For the hundredth time.
So they just did an episode of Nathan Fillion's show The Rookie about a bunch of innocent people who were medicated without their consent and it turned them into mindless violent monsters.
Coincidentally, a week before a big Firefly announcement.... where they have reavers... that are innocent people who were medicated without their consent and turned into mindless violent monsters.
We know something bad is supposed to happen to lucy in episode 10, and the fact the next episode is aftermath... tells me whatever happens in e10 is BAD.
Weve heard a but about vanlife lucy and how she decided to become a cop after her 9 months in #vanlife. Im really afraid that we're gonna find out she was assaulted during those 9 months, which is why she became a cop and that this "martin" comes back into her life and hurts her again.
But the one good thing that we'll see if im right: feral Tim.... and that could make it worth it.
Dropout is gonna have so many people upset about them failing the Purity Test
Dropout fans have, on average, a way worse problem with parasocial feelings than most. The people on Dropout are their FRIENDS!
And now there's a crossover with The Rookie, which I know very little about but which I'm sure is very much Copaganda.
And it's not that I think copaganda is good. It's not. But also... man, people are going to blow this WAY out of proportion because they're too invested and they're going to see it as a betrayal.
Frankly, copaganda is WAY down the list for me. I'm a teensy bit surprised at this, sure, but I'm also not really bothered. It's a good opportunity. How many of the actors on Dropout can afford to turn down roles on primetime shows?
You're allowed to disagree, you're allowed to think this is... I don't know, a slippery slope or whatever. But I feel like we're never served well by demanding perfection and total ideological purity, and in the grand scheme of things a crossover episode with a stupid cop show isn't that big of a deal.
The amount of copaganda in this show is.. weird. It definitely intended to be copaganda... and then took a weird blm/acab turn for a season before settling on a nice mix of comedy and drama. You have storylines about cops doing stupidly courageous and brave things... like going on a covert mission to a hostile foreigncountry without authorization to rescue a pregnant cop who was kidnapped by a grieving cartel boss who kist her own son so now intends to steal the cops....... and then storylines where two cops in love have identical doppelgangers who are also in love and the two cops pretend to be their doppelgangers undercover to stop a major heroin trafficker.
Somewhere along the way became more about the people and stories than the profession. Like greys anatomy where you see medical stuff going on, but the personal lives are much bigger portions of storylines and its the same for the rookie.
They take serious storylines and go about them in the most cracked out manner possible. Last season alone, they had episodes that were a play on Speed, The Purge, Three Billboards outside ebbing, among others. It very much feels like a fanfic writer got into the writers room in recent seasons.
Its copaganda, but very obviously copaganda to even the most oblivious person watching.
