@aaliyah1979-2001
Aaliyah starred in the 2002 film Queen of the Damned, her final and posthumous movie role. She played Akasha, an ancient Egyptian vampire and the mother of all vampires, who is awakened by the music of a modern-day rock star vampire named Lestat. Her role was unfinished at the time of her death. Her brother did voice-over work to enhance her vocals.
Aaliyah was originally cast as Zee in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She filmed scenes for Reloaded but died in a plane crash in August 2001 before filming was complete. The role was recast with Nona Gaye, who reshot Aaliyah's scenes. Zee was the wife of Link, a crew member of Nebuchadnezzar, and was expected to have a more prominent role in the third installment.
