I post art occasionally when I remember I have a blog.
My favourite characters are as followed:
Appledusk (biggest fan shocker), Mapleshade, Crookedstar, Nightcloud, Squirrelflight, Leafpool, Spottedleaf. I pretty much hate or am virtually uninterested in any other character.

The song is From The Start. This specifically is a cover created by Good Kid.
This was started on March 8th and rendered on April 14th, it uses a combination of 2D art and real life footage and editing
Mapleshade's design was heavily inspired by @mrknowitall1's design for Mapleshade in the Keep Your Head Up PMV (which was like the first thing I watched that got me into warriors in the first place, so thank you I guess?!? haha)
(by the way when I dropped the mapleshade in the water near the end of the video I immediately took it out dw, the next shot of it on the grass takes place right after. NATURE IS AWESOME!!!)
The style of this PMV was supposed to look very early 2000's core so that's why the music sounds really low quality (I was originally going to render it in 240p lol), I think I failed at recreating the style of editing and just kind of did my own thing lmao but let me know what you think! ^^'

tl;dr I really enjoyed making this PMV, and I really hope to create something like this again very soon (and maaaybe I've already started on something?? :>)
-cats in Her cult do not have names. They did long ago but not anymore. You may give your suncat ect ocs names tho to make it easier to talk about them.
-"names" used inside of the cult (like Suncat, Guard, Ginger ear, Miss Tortie ect) are in english because they are not names.
Outside of the cult:
-Most names outside of the cult are one or two words and they are Finnish. One word names are more usual
-No human names (tho some very old Finnish names could break this rule if i feel like it)
-Cats may use words that are very much human stuff (like sokeri = sugar) as long as it isnt modern (like. Phone.) Or specific (like sokeri is ok. Specific brand of sugar isnt). Like I will name a cat Katiska at some point (katiska is a fishing tool)
-If a word is the same in Finnish and in English aka we kinda stole it I try to not use it for it ruins 🇫🇮the vibe🇫🇮
-For plants the cats may use plant names that dont grow naturally in Finland since there are/have been humans and flowers from gardens ect do get in the nature. However only plants that can actually make it in Finland. And the previous rule stands. If the plant name is too english i wont use it
-Names dont have to make sense (Like Yöhopea means nightsilver and that doesnt mean anything. Or Sugarpaws finnish name Sulosokeri means Charming sugar) only sound nice
-Names can include word kissa (cat) or some nickname for cats. There is a cat named Katinkulta (katti = cats nickname, kulta = gold, Katinkulta = Foolsgold). To the cats it isnt weird like naming someone human would be weird to us
-Nicknames for animals are often used instead of the animals offical name (like Mesi comes from mesikämmen = bear)
-Names can have letters added to them/taken away to make a word sound more like a name. Do notice that when doing this the word itself might change so it might be kinda hard to do if u dont speak finnish. Examples:
-> Tar/tär to the end of the word to make it fem (Naakka = jackdawn + tar = Naakkatar = Jackdawness) (there isnt a similar way to make masc names. Or atleast i cant think of any)
-> Kki to the end of the word to make it more like a name (Keto = field + kki = Kedokki (not Ketokki. Sorry i dont make the rules. Or like not these ones)
-> nen to the end of the word. This is super popular way to end Finnish lastnames (mine is also nen name) and it is also used in Juma to make a word into more like a name (Ilta = evening + nen = iltanen)
-For some fucking reason cats in Juma dont use word oranssi = orange. Just because I DONT LIKE IT. Not the word itself i just for no reason think it RUINS THE VIBE.
I would say its cause it is so close to the english word but thats not it. I think its too close to orange the fruit and thats why im like WE DONT HAVE THAT HERE
(Orange is appelsiini in finnish btw. No, the cats dont use that either)
-So instead of oranssi they will say "punainen" (red) "kellanpunainen" (yellowred) or something like "sunset" ect.
-Yes I am forbitting a whole fucking color
-but a name like Tuuliviiri (weather vane) is totally valid and normal and I think its pretty and fun
I think it would be fun to Jumalanpelkofy ur cat oc names or just. Translate them into Finnish lmao
The name can be an english word or like. Human name so I can think of Finnish version of it
(unfortunately i only speak english (and few very badly pronounced words of swedish and hebrew) in addition to finnish so if the name is in some other language just tell me what it means in english)

The thing with Juma names (im starting to use Juma when talking about the universe. That includes the sequel(s)) that have two words in them is that very often they make no sense.
Yöhopea (yö=night, hopea = silver) and the cat is black and white (perhaps her fur kinda has silvery glow sometimes)
I do like this tho, i like how it is bit different from warrior names (tho those also dont always make sense, but at least these have bit different vibe than the finnish warrior cat names)
I also like to whip the words around to the less warriorname order. Like it is Yöhopea not Hopeayö (silvernight). I just like that they have bit different vibe than most warriornames

Jumalanpelko style breakdown!!!
Hellooo! I’ve had a few people now ask me about how I replicate the Jumalanpelko style, so i’m gonna do a breakdown of the comic’s artstyle and what you can do to make your characters look like they’d fit right in the jumalanpelko universe!
The way Sysi designs cats is very interesting to me. Compared to other artists I see drawing cats, Sysi tends to focus much more on pose and shape to convey who a character is rather than color or pattern.
Each character is completely distinguishable from the others without any color. This is how the comic gets away with those constantly shifting palettes and two-colored scenes as well! Having an incredibly defined facial shape is key to the comic’s style.
I’ll be breaking the faces down into four parts for better understanding.
Base, eyes, nose+mouth, ears.

The base shape of every character’s head should be different from the others, defining them as a certain character. There are exceptions to this of course; sometimes people look the same and cats are no different!
Eyes in jumalanpelko are very simple. The edges near the outer corner of the eye tend to be thicker than the edges near the inner corner, and eyelashes on cats are more of an extension of the eye than an extrusion.
Eyes have a lot more faces than other parts of the cat. They’re very smooth compared to things like the body, and that’s because the eyes want to draw the viewer in. The head is the focus of the cat, and a smoother shape is easier for our brains to define.
The nose and mouth are always connected to one another by a line. That line usually is thicker near the nose and thinner near the mouth, and makes a little Y shape.
The noses sometimes change in shape, but the most common nose shape in the comic is 3-faced triangle, especially from far away. In more detailed shots, the nose will indent and form a more rounded shape.
Mouths in jumalanpelko are always connected to the nose line. Most of the time, they avoid the typical :3 shape seen in a lot of cat art, and instead function like cartoon human mouths for the most part.
The wider a characters mouth gets, the more faces will appear. If a character’s mouth is conveying an expression of anger, the shape will distort and become squiggly, along with there being more faces. Lines usually also appear around the edges of the mouth in these poses to convey more emotion.
Ears of characters usually look attached to the head in one big blob. They’re not defined as separate from the head, and are more of an extension of it. They always look very connected to the cat, and Sysi often draws them as one big piece rather than separate from what I can gauge.
Ears also have insides that are almost always the lightest color on the cat. The insides are usually not following the shape of the ear and are instead mostly just lil circles, unless the ear is pointed down in which the inside is triangular and colors the entire bottom of the ear.
Moving on to bodies!
Bodies can get away with much less shape definition. Cats are liquid, after all. A character’s pose should reflect who they are as a person. Suncat in the comics always looks very relaxed around guard, and sits straight when interacting with other colony cats. Upon suneve, she is shown slouching much more.
Guard is always on edge, and his poses reflect that. His poses are much more rigid than other cats.
Senior Guard (Mesi) holds her head low, and is often laying down looking deflated and lethargic.
A cats pose is very important! It gives so much to their character.
Bodies should be simple in shape. They’re usually bean-like in jumalanpelko, with definition for the back legs and shoulders when sitting.
When a cat stands, they lose that defined body shape, and return to a bean.
Feet have two different shapes in jumalanpelko depending on the situation.
When a cat has their feet planted on the ground, they’re shaped kind-of wedge like. When off the ground or interacting with their environment, they’re usually in a clover-like shape. Each cat also has 3 toes.
Color and patterns
Now focusing more on pattern and color, there’s a few rules present in jumalanpelko.
The cats in the comic have to be drawn over and over again, as is the nature of the comic. To prevent Sysi from going insane, he makes all their cats super simplified.
Each cat can have no more than 3 fur colors. Every cat in the comic abides by this rule.
(using a frame from the comic as it has many cats, this is from page 1 of god’s favorite.)
Even more complex designs such as Kuutamo are still limited to 3 colors.
Markings for characters are very limited and simplified. If a cat has stripes, they usually have no more than 3 or 4. If a cat has spots, the same applies.
As for shading, the only time I shade these goobers is when there’s a part overlapping with another part and both are the same color.
As for misc stuff, keep fur shapes simple and don't add too many random strands of hair. Fur in the comic is most often present on the forehead, cheeks, chin and tail. I try to limit myself to 5 tufts per area, but also i sometimes (most of the time) do not follow this rule. Just try to keep shapes simple.
Also! Kittens in the jumalanpelko style are almost always desaturated, and don't really emote. They usually have no mouth and their eyes are blue-ish. Along with that, they're incredibly fluffy and their shapes are not as defined. There should be very little contrast between the kittens base color and their markings, and that contrast will increase as they get older.
Anyways thank you for reading my silly jumalanpelko style guide! I'm not perfect with how I replicate the style, but these are the little tips I use to help me get at least pretty close!

I don’t think Mapleshade is a bad mother, she’s negligent at best for taking her young kittens out of camp. But she had good intentions from the start regarding their future even if it was unfortunately unrealistic. I’d say she’s one of the best mothers. I don’t often read the main books but I don’t think I’ve ever seen any mother fight and grieve their kittens as much as Maplshade. (Except morningflower). And I don’t think I’ve seen any try as hard and desperately as she did to get vengeance against the system that killed them.
