Emily jogged to catch up with him, relieved he had stopped. Taking a breath she figured she may as well ask him right off the bat, try and minimize any damage that had been done.”Did I, did I see you the past few days? If I did I’m so sorry if I said anything bad, I don’t even know what happened with my memory.”

Aaron nodded, “We did run into each other, yes.” It had been an interesting one to say the least, thankfully she was remembering him now. “I was curious about that too. Does that happen often?”

“It’s gossip. Is it ever actually credible?”

“There tends to be some truth behind it, unless it’s completely a stretch from that person’s every day life.”

“I mean.. I’d be fine without eating right now.” Amelia shrugged, grinning deviously at his question, feeling even more excited now. Honestly, this was more than she had hoped for and they had only been driving in the car so far. It helped a lot that he was gorgeous and he was actually listening to what she said.

Aaron smirked, content with doing whatever she wanted. He didn’t have to do much to have a bit of fun with her, and this was just the beginning. The real fun was still a little further down the road, and he had only made a bet about getting attached. There was nothing stating that he couldn’t string her along. “Where would you like to go instead?” He asked, letting one hand move to rest on her thigh.

Walking down the street, Emily could see a familiar face in the crowd. She watched him walk down the street, unsure if she had encountered him during those few days without her memories, she couldn’t really remember those days anymore, but if she did she couldn’t imagine what she had said or done. Making one of her unsurprising impulse decisions, Emily ran forward to catch up with the man. “Hey! Aaron!”

Aaron turned as he heard his name, recognizing the girl from the potluck and one of the days after. The last time they spoke, though, she had no clue who he was, a mystery he was still willing to seek answers for. He smiled as she approached, wondering if she only knew his name from the potluck or because he had to remind her. “Hi, Emily. How are you?”

“No, I think you’re be it eventually, we all are. Just hope it’s not something credible.”

"Has a lot of been credible information? Or just gossip being stirred around?”

“I’m glad that’s not in the cards. I’m sure you’ll have more friends soon enough, you’re a pretty cool guy.” It didn’t matter if he was laying it on, she was buying into it and living for it. “I think we can get more privacy whenever we want.” Mia laughed a little.

“It’ll just be a matter of time, which I have so I’m not worried.” Although, making friends wasn’t exactly in the cards for him either. It was more about meeting the right people to get what he wanted from them. Aaron grinned, looking over at her for a moment. “We can? Are you saying we don’t even have to go to dinner?”

“You’d find out soon enough anyways.” Andrea snorted as if what she had said was super obvious.

“Any tips then so I won’t be the talk of the town?”

“Unless you’re planning on getting drunk and abandoning me for your friends I think you’ll be okay.” She responded, looking back at him “I’m sure you can beat that because that was my worst date ever.” As for what Aaron was thinking it was trie, she obviously was completely smitten with him and hung on his every word. “Yeah I’m excited for it. It helps that there probably won’t be as many people. I mean, I don’t know what you have planned so maybe not.”

“That’s not in the cards. Plus, I don’t have too many friends here yet.” He was about to ask if the example was from personal experience when she gave him the answer. “That’s crazy. I don’t know how anyone could do that to you.” Aaron was laying it on thick, making himself a bit nauseous because of it. “It’d be nice if there wasn’t. It’ll give us more privacy and plenty of time to get to know each other.”

Nodding slowly, she shook his hand “Nice to meet you, I guess, Aaron.” She didn’t respond with a name of her own. It didn’t even cross her mind to say one, not that she could definitively say she had one.

“You guess? I’ll take that.” He wasn’t pleased by it, but he was getting the sense that something was wrong. “Are you going to tell me yours?”

Rosalie looked down her glass again. It was something to focus on and keep her distracted from looking into Aaron’s eyes, which she knew would melt her. “No, you’re not most people.” Her distraction failed. She looked right at him and smiled. “Well, you better catch up because I’m already half way there. I have an idea of how we can speed this up though.” She flagged the bartender down once again, ordering more shots than probably was healthy for the two of them to consume. “Just like old times, right?” she asked before downing one.

Aaron was content with how things hadn’t changed all too much, a smile coming across his face when she agreed. He’d never been one to fit into the norm, no matter how hard he tried. Other than her, though, no one needed to know that. A smile spread across his face as she looked at him, in complete agreement with where this was headed. “Do you?” He chuckled, shaking his head as she ordered numerous shots. That was definitely one way for him to catch up, and for them to get drunk. “It’s like we were never apart.”

Pondering for a second, she shook her head “I’ve never seen you before.”

His eyebrows knitted together, “Okay, I’m Aaron.” He held out his hand, trying not to freak her out. Maybe she had been drunker than he thought when they first met.

“Either way I’m sure we’ll have a great time.” Smiling more when he glanced at her, she looked ahead “I would think you’d be able to make a good time guaranteed.” Mia laughed a little bit, ecstatic to hear that he had a good time and was glad they were doing this. If it was a lie she didn’t care at this point “Thank goodness for that.”

“I do try my best, but we did just meet. What if what I have planned is your definition of a bad date? That’d suck for me.” He highly doubted it, getting the feeling she was far too into him for Aaron to mess up this early on. “It’ll be nice to be able to talk and get to know each other better.”

“Not like that, more like, that’s not the type of information that spreads. Of course people in small towns are all up in each other’s business, have you met literally anyone in this town?”

Aaron shook his head, chuckling. “Not really. This is my first time out on the town, so to speak. I’ve been unpacking since I got here.”

Stopping for a second, she looked at him “I think I’d remember if I lived here.”

Aaron’s eyebrow raised, “Do you remember me?”

“Every town does, you’d be surprised. I feel like in small towns it’s just buried deeper. In big cities there’s always someone willing to talk. Here, not so much.”

“No one talks? I thought everyone was supposed to be all up in each others’ business.”

Mia laughed a little more “No, no, I do have faith in you. I’m sure you’ll make this a great date one way or another.” She looked at him as she buckled her seatbelt, feeling even more eager than before about this. Watching as he started his car, she leaned back in her seat, trying to calm herself down, hating how she was reacting to this, like a little kid. At his last comment she looked at him again “Yeah, of course, I was happy you asked. I had a good time with you at the potluck.”

“Thank you, I appreciate it. I’m hoping this place is good, being new left me with very ways to get recommendations for dinner. If it’s not, we can go rogue and have a spontaneous adventure.” Aaron pulled the car out of the spot, taking random glances at her when he could as she spoke. “I had a great time too. I’m glad we’re able to continue it just the two of us. Now we won’t have to fight people to get a drink.”
