At first, she had accepted the place pretty quickly. The city really didn’t seem so bad, and Roxy had been through a lot worse and more difficult times. As much as “human test subject” really didn’t sound too fabulous, it was far better than what could have happened. Besides, this city was providing a pretty good atmosphere so far. Of course, Sector 5 was still the only one she’d been in. Oh well, she’d get to the rest eventually.
But upon further thinking about it, thoughts started changing a bit. With everything she’d been through before, she had contact with her friends. Jane, Dirk, and Jake…did they even have computers or phones with public internet access in this place? She hadn’t woken up with anything on her except for her clothes. She would be able to talk to them again…right? That was a darker thought for another time, when she’d have herself more familiarized with this place. The girl was optimistic as usual about things working out well.
With Roxy being…well, Roxy, it hadn’t taken long for her to get hold of an alcoholic beverage. Yeah, she’d been trying to get off the stuff, addressing this problem she had and now trying to get rid of it, but a bit wouldn’t hurt. She’d been good up till now, the blond was confident she could keep the addiction down. Plus, new city and whatnot, gotta keep those nerves down somehow. With her slightly unbalanced something of a stagger, she made her way down the streets somewhat aimlessly, attention on the windows in the shops passing by. Or at least, it had been there until it was taken and directed at something tugging on her stylishly torn jeans, followed by someone calling what was probably the name of the animal.
“Nooo, she didn’t hurt me.”
“She’s pretty cute, y’know..~”
Roxy really didn’t mind the sudden greeting by the polar bear dog (that’s what she was assuming it was, going by the appearance), as long as it didn’t go biting anything other than her pant leg.
“Name’s Roxy, beeteedubs. What ‘bout you?”
Nothing wrong with getting on a first name basis, right?
Korra released a small sigh, thankful for the fact that the hybrid had been reduced to a small size. Only the Spirits knew how different this could have gone if she was at her full size, although she doubted Naga would have done harm to the other either way. Grin tugging at her lips, Korra gaze a firm nod of her head, bringing the polar bear dog closer to her chest and allowing her fingers to sink into her fur, giving the creature a bit of a scratch. "Guess she is, huh? Bit of a handful, actually." The Avatar commented before bringing her attention back to the blonde.
"Nice to meet you, Roxy. Name's Korra." She sought to free a hand so that she could offer it to the other, but the polar bear dog began to squirm in her arms again and she released a soft sigh, nudging the creature softly with her nose. "Hey, if I put you down, you better stay put, alright?" Another squirm and the dark skinned girl brought the polar bear dog to the ground, who darted back towards the other and began to tug at their pant leg.
So much for that.
"Right, I guess she really likes you." Korra said with a laugh, bringing a hand up to rub at the back of her neck, trying her best to make light of the situation. Well, she wasn't really hurting the blonde, although if she continued she might end up ripping the fabric of her pants and the Avatar honestly didn't want that. After all, she had no money to pay for the damages, even if they should have given her some. You know, for dragging her back here and all. Bringing her hands to settle on her hips, Korra inclined her head to the side, thinking it best to at least get acquainted with a few people, unlike the last time. "Say, Roxy, you been here long?"
