What those tags mean

The AB Gomes catalogue = posts that serve as a way to present and describe my original projects to a potential audience.

OC exposition = in-depth posts that describe some of the characters I’ve created and what I plan to do with them.

Pitch or Pass = I present a pitch for a story I’m on the fence about investing my time in animating, to see how interesting people think the idea is.

I’d say that “Maternal Instincts” is the project I currently enjoyed working on the most, mostly because of how much of a breeze it was to put the video together compared to the behemoths that were "Out of Love" and any other visual novel I’ve created. (The sucess of the short was also a factor lol)

Kinda of sign that i should focus on shorter stuff but, naahhh, " "twelve winters" will be feature film! LOL"

I'm the kind of person who likes to draw inspiration from a little bit of everything when writing original stories. Here's an infographic showing everything that inspired my last three major projects

the one artistic exercise I always end up skipping was trying to understand and replicate someone else’s art.

Studying what makes a art piece resonate. Analyzing what gives a piece of media that special touch that makes people stare at it for hours on end.

In my years as a YouTuber animator, I feel like I’ve been winging it the whole time—guessing what people would like—rather than really trying to figure out what would make ME take an interest in my own work.

I have all the pieces ready in my head. So I had never realized how tedious the experience of putting the puzzle together was.

Therefore, I like to believe that the storytelling style I intend to bring to my next big projects will bear fruit.

(OC) Sataniel and her crows:

But honestly i just think that the idea of non-malicious torturer character interesting. And i wish to play around with some aspects of concepts within the bible.

One, for example, is the concept of the devil... Sataniel here is not the devil. But hell is hers, given to her by God for her to direct her impulses to help people.

That does not mean that a more traditional lucifiran figure doesn't exist in this universe. Nor that Sataniel is safe from them.

Fun fact: Sataniel's Murder (actual way to call a group of crows) are based on this demon guy named Malphas.

Saw him on pinterest with someone describing him as a funky looking fella or something. Searched what was his deal and thought "yeah. I can work with that".

Sometimes I wish I’d get more criticism.

It’s not that I’m not happy about the uncharacteristic niceness I’ve received online compared to other artists, but honestly, it took my dad’s harsh criticism of my work for me to finally see my flaws and start working on them.

I struggle put myself in other people’s shoes, so it’s hard to tell when something is uninteresting or not or how the things i say or make come across...
