Peter Allen
Peter Allen is a published author and an illustrator of children's books and young adult books. Some of the published credits of Peter Allen include Pirate Jigsaw Book (Luxury Jigsaw Books), Ancient Romans Jigsaw Book (Usborne Luxury Jigsaw Books), Pirate Jigsaw Book (Usborne Jigsaw Books S.), and Ancient Egypt Jigsaw Book (Luxury Jigsaw Books). I find his work interesting, and I particularly like how he colours in his illustrations. They appear naive and simplistic.

Identity Project
This week our theme is Identity. Who is the person who identifies? - The viewer of the subject What art symbols /objects which relates to identity? - Some symbols and objects include clothing, music genre, religious symbols including the cross, and the pentagon. Others such as race, age, and phone brands and their apps. List building spaces which inspire a sense of belonging/ identity. - Park, home, holiday home, school, bedroom, church, slums, larger cities, and poorer cities. Identity themes: Global placing, class, language, sense of home How do these factors affect your identity? - In every way How is the theme identity relevant to your selected specialisation? (Graphic Communication) - You need to take into consideration the companies identity, but as equally important, your own ethics which conform your own identity. For example, creating an advertisement encouraging 16 year olds to start smoking would be a commission I would not approve of, therefore would not carry out.

Elmer and Berta Hader
When they ran into difficulty with their first fireplace they hired those masons to help them, learned more, and leapt into independent action again, helped by visiting friends on the weekends. Their inspirations were group meals, skits, songfests, spirited conversations, canoeing, storytelling, and sleeping were interspersed with sessions of swinging hammers and using trowels. When their house was finished the first thing they decide to do was to add on. They were a productive, creative and artistic couple. Within their life time, they created multiple paper dolls, black and white illustrations, christmas cards, children's books and personal work.
Matthew Picton
Born in London, England in 1960, Matthew Picton studied Politics and History at the London School of Economics. He has been a professional artist since 1998 and has exhibited widely on the West and East coast of the United States and participated in numerous art fairs. He has exhibited internationally in the UK and Germany His work has been reviewed in many publications including Art Forum, Art News, Art Ltd, Art Week, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco chronicle, The Washington Post, The Independent (UK) and the Atlantic Cities amongst others, His work is included in the collections of The De Young Museum, San Francisco, The Herbert Museum of Art, Coventry UK, The Fidelity Bank collection, London UK.
I admire the use of subtle colour in Picton's work, he leaves a lot of negative space. I also admire how he burns his work depicting burnt homes. His use of a circular form subconciously suggests his journey on earth. It is a visual meaphor for a planet. His work is a blend of 3D, linear and typography.
