“Seems like you never had a childhood.”
“If I never had a childhood, I wouldn’t be at the age I am now.”
“He won’t.”
“If you say so - I’m trusting you on this. But you first.”
“ Dude, stop worrying. — What does that even mean ? What happened to you at the dance ? ”
“Someone put liquor in the punch. So a lot of us went home extremely intoxicated.”
“You honestly never had been smoking on a roof before?”
“No. I’ve never smoked at all actually. Or been on a roof.”
“You’re literally as much fun as a wet sock. Relax, this is going to be fun. Have a drink,” holding the bottle of alcohol out to the other.
“It’s not just my dad I’m worried about, though. I thought I was going to die after that dance.”
“Your life must suck.”
“But it doesn’t. I just didn’t do as much as everyone else.”
“What he won’t know won’t hurt him.”
“And if he finds out?”
“It’s Scottish. How’d you know?” She replied, looking over at him. “Well it’s nice to meet you, Abel. Maybe I’m the serial killer, I treat my victims to ice cream, and then its straight to the woods.” Greer said as she laughed.
“Good guess. I’m familiar with names, I suppose.” His laughter was loud this time. “That would be a good plan if you were. You don’t look like a serial killer. Nothing like one, actually. So no one would suspect you at all. So if you’re treating me to ice cream to leave me in the woods, make sure I have a sundae on the way there.”
“No, a sparkly fairy. Yes, I meant a jerk,”
“I’d be a jerk if I said I wasn’t. I have my moments.”
“I don’t know what to do with you?”
“Your best bet is to just deal with me. I’m impossible.”
“For now. Until there aren’t any witnesses.”
“Fat chance.”
Rydan laughs and shakes his head.
“Did I actually win this one?”
He shakes his head. “I know where you sleep.”
“And I know where the door is. I can deal with running with no shoes.”
“You have three seconds to run.”
“First, I’d like to take a few more seconds to explain why that won’t be necessary. I’m into sports and we all know you have two left feet. So I wouldn’t have to run very far.”
“You little shit.”
“Abel; one. Rydan; none.”
