He wanted to twist his fingers into the curls at the base of Abel’s neck to hold him close. A part of him didn’t want to let him go at all but they now had two hungry boys to feed and themselves so he let go, letting Abel lead the way to their boys.
“You could let me cook one day.”
Taking the phone from the kitchen counter, he followed behind Abel. Lingering and watching the interactions. A small smile tugged at his lips when Richie spoke up like they didn’t know what he enjoyed. The order was strange to him, mostly because it was what Toby would have ordered for them either way, like Seth already fit.
“I like meat pizzas too.” He spoke softly before handing the phone to Abel.
He smiled at Toby as he took the phone, happy that he already found something in common with the new little boy in their home. Abel was so used to ordering pizza he knew the number off by heart, quickly dialing and making the order to be delivered to their door.
“You can cook if you want, I’m only trying to get better at it since I usually cook anyway.”
Abel could hear Richie already telling Seth about how often he burns things, making the man grumble quietly even though it was completely true. There would be lots of things Seth would learn about their home, and the most important would be that it is a safe place for any feelings and thoughts, and nothing left this home that wasn’t meant to. Not that he expected the little boy to go around telling people of his new family, anyway, even if he knew what was happening. That was possibly a talk he’d need to have with him after dinner.
