State of the comic
The first volume of The Hazards of Love, collecting the first arc of my other comic, is scheduled to come out on March 30. It's being published by Oni Press, and if you wondered what my secret project was – it was coloring the entirety of that. I’m very proud of it, and I hope you’ll check it out.
The Hazard of Love is a little over the halfway point, story-wise. It seems like a good idea to focus on it now in order to finish it, have it colored, and get that published sooner rather than later.
Where does this leave Abernathy Square? It's complicated; I still like the story and want to work with it but as it's been awhile, I'll need to recalibrate it. The curse of any writer is the knowledge that you can look at old work and find something to improve, yeah? Still, the website will stay up for the time being, and I'll let you know if I decide to take it down (I likely won't until such time as I can reboot Abernathy to my liking).
Bottom line is: I don't know when it'll come back, or if it'll be recognizable as the same story it was when you see it next. But it's important for me to tell you that I'm not really done with it, for what that's worth. It's not abandoned so much as put on a shelf to glance at wistfully.
