Abigail,
To one of the strongest fighters I know. You deserve this, you made that glass ceiling your bitch from the very moment you reached up.
Jericho
you're my flashlight
Cassidy pushed past people in a huff. “Excuse me, excuse me.” Her words got more annoyed as they didn’t part, and she was losing sight of the brunette she was trying to find. “Move, please.” She told one final party-goer with a look that showed how in a hurry she was. “There you are!” Her arms wrapped around Abigail, mostly to keep her in place and to stop mingling. “You look amazing, what did you to my best friend? I was about to tell you, pencil skirts aren’t considered formal wear but you got the memo.” Her hand reached up to tuck a strand of hair back into place behind the other’s ear. “Now would you like to tell me why you’re name popped up in the ER log?” @abigail–wagner
It was no secret that Abigail struggled to keep a work-life balance. She often lost touch with friends, went weeks without seeing them, and even her childhood best friend, wasn’t immune to Abigail’s disappearing act. She honestly couldn’t remember the last time she saw Cassidy. Instinctively, she returned the other brunette’s hug, exaggerating the manner in which she flipped her hair at the compliment. “Thank you, thank you. This is probably the nicest thing I’ve worn in weeks. I’ve practically been living in yoga pants lately.” Twirling her best friend around, Abigail smiled approvingly at Cassidy’s dress. “I almost didn’t recognize you without the lab coat. But not bad, Trevino.” She should have known that the doctor would’ve heard about her visit to the ER. “I fainted in court,” she answered matter-of-factly, not bothering to explain any further. “Now would you like to tell me what’s going on with you and Mr. CEO over there?”
abigail–wagner:
@jerichotamblyn
It felt a bit strange not attending one of the town events without Jericho by her side, but with her extended stay in the hospital, Abigail hadn’t really been planning to attend the dance. She couldn’t blame Jericho for finding someone else to go with. She just hadn’t expected that other person to be Cassidy, her childhood best friend. She wasn’t even aware that the two knew each other. ‘What a small world,’ she thought to herself. But she knew better than to display the surprise on her face. Instead, she put on a perfectly practiced smile as she approached her friend. “Mr. Tamblyn.”
Upon seeing Abigail, Jericho couldn’t help but express the smile and slight relief on his face. It felt… odd to him as well, they normally would have gone to these kinds of events together and it was a shame but Cassidy? He was taken aback by her invitation and of course, accepted. “Abigail — “ Leaning forward he placed a kiss on her cheek before stepping back, “You look good, I’m glad to see you on your feet again.” It was true, the previous couple of weeks had been a roller coaster for her, and in truth Jericho had never worried about someone else’s well being more. “Are you here with someone? Or do you think I could steal you away for a few?”
The last couple weeks had been a roller coaster for Abigail. She’d always ran herself ragged with work, but she’d never thought her crazy work schedule would land her in the hospital. She had no idea how she would’ve gotten through the whole ordeal without Jericho’s visits and thoughtful gifts delivered to her hospital room almost daily. His small, selfless acts not only reminded Abigail how good a friend the man was, but also led her to question if friendship was all there was between them. “And you don’t look too bad yourself, if I may say so.” She reached up to straighten his tie, just as she’d done countless times before. “Yes, but I can’t seem to find him. I’m all yours until then.” She smiled again, her hand finding his. “Let’s talk and dance?”
Shall We Dance || Tripp & Abigail
@tripp-shephard
No one was more surprised than Abigail at the turn of events. It wasn’t that long ago that she was rebuffing Tripp’s attempts to ask her out, yet the man’s charms seemed to have finally softened her usually strong resolve. She’d agreed to four dates and not a single more, and was poised to hold up her end of the bargain, particularly after discovering that Tripp had been one of the nurses who’d cared for her in the hospital. And that was why she’d decided to play nice that night. The man had played a role in saving her life. Now, her arm was linked with his, their height difference surely an amusing sight to bystanders. “Everyone’s staring at us, and I don’t think it’s because you’re a giant.” Her lips remained pursed. “Did you really have to wear a bright red suit?”
He was out on a date with Abigail Wagner… While there are had been months of pursuing, Tripp wasn’t sure that it would actually happen. What started as an amusement to him soon became a challenge. That challenge then turned into genuine interest in the woman. He had no expectations. Figuring a few dates would give him a small chance though he was sure that she was ready to write him off afterwards. He would take what he could and figured he’s have to get creative. He never expected her to initiate one of the dates whether it was to get them over with or not. She looked stunning, something he had voiced upon seeing her, and her comment about his appearance only made him laugh. “Honestly, AB, they are looking at use cause we look hot. Did you really want me to be boring and wear black and navy like every other man?”
Abigail didn’t agree with Tripp on many occasions, but she couldn’t exactly dispute his theory. She wasn’t blind, but she would take a dozen more sleepless nights at the office than admit to his face that she actually found him attractive. Abigail was no stranger to first dates, yet she had no idea where a first date would Tripp Shephard would lead. “Black and navy aren’t boring. There’s a reason most men opt for those colors. They exude class and confidence,” she argued. “There’s no need for bells and whistles. Why deviate from what works?” She took a moment to scan the room, spotting a few familiar faces in the crowd before turning her attention back to Tripp. “So are we just going to stand here, or are we going to dance?”
it’s a swell time || clay + abigail
@clay-thorne
Between her ever packed work schedule and her recent trip to the emergency room, Abigail had barely talked to Clay since having lunch with him a while back. What Abigail thought would be a casual meet-up had turned into Clay revealing an entire backstory that the young lawyer was not prepared for. Clay was a father, and from what she gathered, his daughter’s mother was still in the picture. Abigail liked Clay because he was uncomplicated and their relationship––or this undefined casual thing between them––was easy. She hoped that none of that would change. She’d separated from her date momentarily, taking the opportunity to say hello to the pilot. “I say this like I haven’t seen you in a suit before, but you clean up nicely, Thorne.” She leaned in to kiss his cheek. “How are you?”
Clay wasn’t sure why he had shown up, not having a date put a damper on the festivities but he hung around the crowd that came stag and made conversation. That was his specialty after all. it was a nice break to be able to have a conversation that didn’t revolve around children’s television shows. He was about to take another swig of his drink when he heard the voice that brought an immediate smile to his features. “The point was to dress well right?” He said with a small smirk tugging a bit at the knot of his tie. Her small stature forced him to bend at the knee for her to reach comfortably. “Breathless right now, that dress is to blame actually. But I’m good. Your date is a lucky guy.” He wasn’t a jealous guy, it wasn’t in his nature but it did bother him that he hadn’t made the running to be her date for the evening. “Care to dance or a drink?”
She’d considered asking Clay to the dance, but wasn’t sure if doing so would have any implications for their relationship. She’d also been uncertain if inviting him would stir up unwanted drama between him and his daughter’s mother. “Right, and I’d say mission accomplished.” She smiled at his compliment, pleased at the fact that her outfit had clearly drawn his attention. Naturally perceptive, Abigail detected perhaps the slightest hint of jealousy when Clay mentioned her date. She glanced in Tripp’s direction, rolling her eyes again at the bright red suit he wore. She then refocused her gaze on the pilot. “I think I’ve got time for a dance.” She smiled again, one hand finding his and the other resting on his shoulder. A silence fell over the two of them, and Abigail wanted to fill it by confessing that she’d missed him. But she refrained from doing so, deciding that it would sound too clingy or desperate—two things she didn’t want to come off as. “What are your plans for Christmas?”
abigail–wagner:
Abigail placed a hand over her mouth, doing her best to contain the laughter that was so easily falling for her lips. “You didn’t have to say so. This horribly decorated tree is evidence enough.” She shook her head. “Have you never done this before?”
“Easy easy, you’re supposed to be telling me that it’s not that bad.” Brody gave his head a shake before laughing, knowing it was that bad. “My ex-wife used to do all the decorating, well she would hire someone to come over and help with the decorating.”
“I’m not here to stroke your ego, Kellum. You’ll have to find someone else for that.” Abigail reciprocated Brody’s head shake. “I’ve hired my fair share of people to do things for me, like clean my apartment, but I can honestly say that I’ve never once considered hiring someone to decorate for the holidays.” She reached out to rearrange some ornaments on the tree. “It looks like a child did this.”

“Alright no need to laugh, it doesn’t look that bad.” Brody took a step back to admire the tree he had been decorating before shaking his head. “It does look bad, damn. Would you believe me if I said I was a little drunk?”

Tripp: Oh I do, AB. I do. Every time you talk to me.
Tripp: I'm sure you'd give a list if you could.
Tripp: Gosh, you make it all sound so romantic.
Tripp: Abigail Wagner are you asking me to be your date to a big public event?
Abigail: And every time you talk to me, I seem to roll my eyes more than I usually do.
Abigail: I could, but I won't.
Abigail: That's me. The hopeless romantic.
Abigail: Yes. Is that a yes or a no?
✉ || ABIGAIL ⇄ TRIPP
Tripp: Wow... Sympathy from you?? What a big day for me.
Tripp: So glad I could be here to remind you.
Tripp: Whoa alright just back down a little. You're practically begging me to cash in the dates. I get it. You want time with me.
Abigail: Consider yourself lucky.
Abigail: What would I ever do without you?
Abigail: I don't beg. I just want to hold up my end of the bargain. I agreed to those dates a while back, and we've yet to go on one. The sooner we go on them, the sooner you'll leave me be.
Abigail: How about this? Before I change my mind... The town is hosting a winter event this weekend. Would you like to accompany me?

Tripp: I'll just screenshot it. Look at it when I'm feeling low.
Tripp: I'm a very serious guy, AB. And that is four dates that were already promised to me anyway.
Abigail: That's sad. My heart breaks for you, Shephard.
Abigail: Oh, darn. I must have forgotten. I suffered a concussion, you see, so I thought it was definitely three.
Abigail: But again, fine by me if you don't want to cash in. I'm not itching to go on them. I just thought I'd offer now since you helped out at the hospital.
✉ || ABIGAIL ⇄ TRIPP
Tripp: You should call me that more often.
Tripp: As much as I would like to have some leverage over you, I can hardly do it this way. There is nothing to pay back. Just get more rest. That is all.
Abigail: It was a one-time thing. Sorry.
Abigail: Wow. No witty response? I mean, I thought you'd want to cash in on one of your three dates, but that's perfectly fine by me.

Tripp: Oh was that you? I save a lot of lives a day. Hard to keep track.
Tripp: But really. It's nothing, AB. That's my job.
Abigail: Okay, Superman.
Abigail: I know it's your job, but I'm still thankful for what you did. And as a token of gratitude, I'd like to pay you back somehow.

Abigail: Thank you.
