She smiled and all but tackled her mother with a hug. A greeting she’d learned from some comics as suitable when you missed someone.

“And you still don’t look over 20!”

Lillie was so glad with how things were now. 

“How is everything here?”

Lusamine embraces her daughter, laughing gleefully, relishing in the feeling of her presence. How blissful it was to be with one of her children, even if only for a short time. Gingerly she brushes Lillie’s bangs out of her face when she pulls away, chuckling softly at her quip about her appearance.  

“It’s perfect,”  she says, beaming,  "it’s all perfect whenever you’re here. I’m so excited- you don’t know how much I cherish your visits. Come, come!“  She starts to move in the direction of the living area, waving for Lillie to follow.  

“You have so much to tell me about your journey! Have you any pictures or items to show me that you’ve collected? I am so anxious to hear about how you’re doing and what you’ve seen!”

She straightened out her dress and kept grinning. She did greatly miss her families as she traveled. She followed behind and flopped to sit down on the couch.

She called out her pokemon Shiron and a recently evolved shiny gardevoir from Sinnoh.

"I got plenty from Hoenn and Sinnoh actually!"

She was quick to put the contents of her bag on the table. Some evolution stones, plenty of photos saved in a album, and gifts for several people. Lillie got a giftbox and slid it towards her mother.

"I thought you would like this!"

Opening it would reveal a sun hairpin with a citrine gem in the center and tear drop rubies around it.

What to say. 

What could be said.

“I….I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

She knew much of what havoc Lusamine did under that poison. The hurt left in her wake affected many. 

      SHE was sorry?

   There was no need for Lillie to be sorry, no not at ALL. Plumeria had once apologized to Lillie for her own wrongdoing that she had done under the orders of Lusamine.

                But oh the former admin couldn’t be sorry ENOUGH.

      “Hey now, you have nothing to be sorry for, girlie.” Plumeria shook her head. “You did nothing wrong… Lillie. I uh–” A pause.

      Saying the word SORRY was not an easy thing for Plumeria. EVER. But –

                     “I’m sorry. Again.                  That shit was a mess I tried to prevent. But failed to prevent.           It was still wrong of me to kidnap you and Nebby, even if I was listening to Lusamine.     Even If I was, overall, doing it all for Guzma.”

The reminder of that didn't help to bury that small bit of the old her from coming back. 

"I feel like. Maybe if I stopped my mother sooner, you and Guzma would be better off. I know many got hurt."

Though that took some bravery to say and successfully brought her new self to the forefront.

"So I'm sorry too."

Lillie made a promise. Every few months. Come home to visit. So she waited outside the mansion at Aether paradise as usual. A day for just her and Lusamine to hang out.

The days at Aether were bland for Lusamine, without color or zest, many moons spent staring out her window and sighing; her only solace was her Lillie coming to visit, Gladion having sworn off speaking to her for the time being. She supposed she shouldn’t be so selfish as to complain- she was lucky one of her children even wanted to see her at all- but the days ticked by so slowly, so agonizingly dreadful and long as she anticipated the arrival of her sweetest treasure.

She’s waiting for Lillie when she arrives, drumming on the arm of her wheelchair in agitation, nearly squealing with joy when she spots that familiar little speck of blonde coming up to the mansion. An Aether employee lets Lillie in, but Lusamine is already there before they can even call her, hands clasped at her front in excitement.  

“Lillie!”  she calls, opening her arms, gesturing for her to come near.  "My darling Lillie! Why, you look so beautiful! Have you grown taller in the months I haven’t seen you? I think you have!“

Wicke had long since given the ub files for Lillie to read so she recognized Celesteelia on the spot. Was she comfortable around UBs? 

Hardly but.

"This is not your home. Would you like to go home?"

It was only supposed to be a short visit back. To see her friends but. She was curious about Guzma. He had been hurt by her mother. And she was uncertain if those wounds received a apology or healing yet.

With Shiron in tow, she went to the most recent place Guzma was heard to have been.

          The former thug had been staying at Kukui’s lab temporarily, intended to only be until he could get back on his feet again. When Lillie arrived at the doorstep and Guzma happened to answer, his heart jumped inside his chest. She had not been an expected guest.

          “Oh, sup…?” he greeted awkwardly, looking down at the small girl as if she were actually a foot taller than him. “If you here to see the Prof, he ain’t home righ’ now…”

"He said you were here. I wanted to talk."

She could imagine the fact she was looking more like her mother was unnerving but. She had to check on those affected. Shiron jumped into her arms and kept a curious look directed at Guzma.

"Can you come outside?"

There was a song that Kukui and Burnet occasionally sang. Sometimes to each other and sometimes to Lillie. It was comforting but so bittersweet. She loved it all the same though. 

"Aloha ʻoe...aloha ʻoe E ke onaona noho i ka lipo..."

She smiled, recalling the time she had with those adoptive parents. Someday she would make them so proud.

Some clues had been given in whispers to Lillie and with what she knew of other worlds and timelines, she stared at the portal before her. A different place with her father. At least a version of him.

Who better to get help from on the mystery of where her timeline's Mohn was? 

She had no doubts and stepped through the portal Nebby made for her.
