hello everyone! forgive me for not being so active within the last week or so. i’ve been preparing for camp and will be leaving today until the 25th of July. This is late but welcome to all the members and I apologize beforehand for the extremely late welcome!

ENLIGHTENMENT PT 2 — @absolemblck

“how about a bet?” he sing-songed, because of course he’d be the type to up the stakes in a goddamn death game. “whoever can one up the other in terms of statue decapitation wins.”

he twirls one of his swords in his grip playfully, encouraging smile on his face, “c'mon princess, you know you wanna do it — maybe you’ll even get one on me. bragging rights and you can laugh about it with zero later in the dorms.” not that he expects her to win… or maybe he does — he chose his little posse well, a little like him in a… less manic way. ( he loves it )“what do you say?

the moment absolem thought she would get some peace, another envelope arrives. what was she expecting, in all honesty. it’s been three years, she should have this down by now. she should know the little tricks, all the loopholes that were actually traps for the ones who refused to listen. she stands close to cain, if anything she was hiding behind him the moment a masked one appeared out of nowhere. she narrows her eyes, sending daggers at the retreating form. if she didn’t value her life so much, she would have attacked by now. absolem gave no shits about the whole ‘only cowards attack when their opponent behind their back’ moral. hell yeah she was a coward, but an alive one at that. 

a soft ‘hmm?’ escaped her lips as she stepped out behind him, now standing next to him. she also summoned her guns, twirling them as she nodded at his offer. ❝alright. seems good. i wish zero was with us right now, it would have been a lot easier. but whatever, nothing we can’t do.❞ she replied nonchalantly, adjusting the hoodie she was wearing. it looked so ugly- even her gym clothes looked better than..whatever the fuck this was. ( didn’t she complain about this already? )

she quirked an eyebrow at his ‘bet’. statue decapitation? was that even allowed? actually- did she even care? if it made the viewers happy then can the collective really punish them? after all, they only cared about views. a ‘tsk’ left her lips before it was replaced with a smirk. he was good with his words and he knew her too well. she couldn’t deny him like she denied chariot.

❝alright, prince, ❞ she could literally hear discord yelling at her in the distance for giving another boy a nickname ( whatever, he’s a pain in the ass anyways ) ❝ let’s make this more interesting.❞ there was a mischievous glint in her eyes, a cheshire like smile gracing her features. she brought one of her guns up and quickly shoot a bullet into the air. she gave him a wink before letting out a loud laugh, grabbing his hand then sprinting off. sure, she didn’t want to die but that didn’t mean she didn’t love risks.

chariot doesn’t know when he got so into training himself. somewhere along the line, he had thrown away all thoughts of pacifism and simply decided to survive. to do that, he needed to be prepared — and what better way to do that than to fight everyone. 

well, that was an exaggeration, but his multiple training partners were beyond helpful. they were good teachers as well as students; he taught certain ones how to use guns while they taught him how to defend himself up close and personal. of course, that lead to quite a bit of roughhousing, leaving him with bruises and scratches after every session. however, he didn’t know jack shit about how to treat those wounds but thankfully, since the first time he was found all tattered up on the way back to his complex, he had found a friend to help with that.

“what can i say, i’m a slow learner,” chariot grins, watching the girl gently. “i also might’ve zoned out a bit during training and gotten this because of it,” he points to the shallow slash on his cheek. “freaked him out so bad when he saw it,” a small chuckle leaves him. “couldn’t even land a hit— ow! god…i forget how much that stings.”

chariot was always one to overwork himself ( or so absolem thinks by the various injuries he got. either that or he just sucked ass at fighting, but she isn’t saying anything. absolem never got the chance to train with him so she wouldn’t know ), and absolem would be the one to patch him up. she didn’t mind, it brought a sense of relief to her knowing that a part of her past is still there.

she glances up at the male, a little stunned, cheeks flushing at his cute smile. he’s so cute, what a pure smile. he was like a twin she always wanted but never got ( but she isn’t saying that outloud. how embarrassing! ).  ❝slow learner? don’t say such things.❞ she lectured like a mother would.  ❝at least you’re still learning.❞ the moment he mentioned zoning out, she let out an unladylike snort before covering her mouth and letting out a laugh.  ❝and some things never change.❞ she rolled her eyes playfully, patching up the wound and moving onto the next one. ❝who couldn’t land a hit? you, or him? because from my point of view, it looks like you couldn’t land a hit.❞ she teased him.

❝awe- can charchar not handle the stinging? lame. ( she’s joking ) just hang on a little longer, we’re almost done.❞

“you do this more often? do you even know any constellations?” is what he says instead, his voice almost hushed to not disturb the peaceful atmosphere too much. it seemed like absolem exactly knew where to go, which place to make their own, perfect spot ( or, maybe, she’s just good at making such decisions quickly ). silence from him follows. reaper’s gaze flickers back to the sky, back up to the stars and a sigh escapes him almost too easily. he envies them, he envies the stars for their freedom; it’s the freedom they’ll never have. and this time, reaper voices his thoughts, “don’t you envy them? the stars?”

absolem loved looking at the stars and sometimes she wonders if her family is looking at them the same time she is. she misses them, oh so dearly. it’s upsetting at times hearing that some candidates had no memory of their past life. aboslem refused to let go of jennie. she does everything can to just remember that she once had a successful life, that she had a loving family. that she once lived.

so technically, it was jennie who loved looking at the stars. 

she feels at peace under the stars. it feels as if the dark hid her from all the evils and dangers in this cruel world. she let out a soft ‘hmm?’ when her friend spoke up and she glanced over at him. 

❝i used to do this my first year in here.❞ she mumbled softly.  ❝it was a way to cope. recently i started doing it again, more so to enjoy myself rather than to hide something like before.❞ she couldn’t help but snort at his question.  ❝uh- who do you think i am? of course i dont.❞ she grinned, a little more playful side of her appearing.  ❝i’m joking. i know a few. ursa major is the easiest to spot.❞ she softly takes his hand and traces over the constellation.  ❝and ursa minor is inside.❞ she traced over that constellation too.  ❝it’s a mama bear and her cub.❞ 

❝i do.❞ a small frown appeared on her visage as she scooted closer to him for more warmth ( it would have been rude to yank the blanket away ).  ❝sometimes i hate looking at ursa major and ursa minor. it mocks me, laughing that i’m not with my parents.❞ she hissed out, eyes narrowing at the sky.  ❝it’s cruel. ❞

❝but see, with ideas, most of them don’t even have a chance of seeing the light. so are you going to execute the idea, or let it die.❞ she snickered, a cheshire smile on her visage. thank goodness she found an ally. it helped calm her nerves. they were still there, but if she were to die then at least she isn’t dying alone. 

she also moves close when he does and lets out a soft snort. ❝agreed. it’s been years and they still pull..this bullshit.❞ it’s getting annoying. she’s bitter. she’s been wanting to leave since the second year, but it’s been too long and at this point she’s given up. it isn’t worth it going against the system by yourself. 

her thought gets cut off when she’s grabbed and suddenly dragged along. it’s easy for her to catch up, thanks to paradox’s harsh training.  ❝feel it? what the fuck is that suppose to mean! i can’t FEEL my guns you know.❞ then she felt some weird tingling inside of her, on her right (ah, that’s what he meant ). she quickly glanced over to the side and her eyes widened as she saw a dog running past them. her eyes lit up at the dog and she let out a gasp as she saw a familiar cylinder on it’s back. 

❝dog!❞ she yelled out, quickly speeding up and at this point she was now dragging him. they kept running for a few feets before the dog knocked over a trash can and another cylinder popped out. the dog decided to stop running and stick it’s head in the trash.  ❝let’s hope that is your’s, prince. ❞ she teased before quickly letting go and tackling the dog. after a few seconds of wrestling with the dog, she was able to get her weapon. the moment her guns were in her hands, she let out a happily sigh.

the news of a piano being brought in caused a ruckus in the village. everyone was excited to play. absolem, was not one of these people. why? because she couldn’t play. it was easy as that. she preferred to watch and listen. she stared at everyone crowding around to see how it looked before walking away.

at night, when the crowd was finally gone, she decided to go look at the piano for herself. she didn’t want to show interest when people could see her. she peeked out from the corner to look at the piano like a curious little kitten. her eyes lit up as she spotted her friend playing the piano. it sounded heavenly. part of her was jealous for not being able to play like him, and well- every other person in this community. another part of her knew that she wouldn’t be able to focus on playing so- she shouldn’t even bother learning at this point.

she slowly walked up behind him, peeking over his shoulder to watch his fingers move across the board. 

❝you play with feeling.❞ she mumbles softly. ❝it’s quite heavenly.❞ a small grin appeared on her visage.

“I was not expecting a sudden companion. Perhaps you have more gardening skills than I do?” He blinks, but stays stiff. There’s not much he can think of to say other than commenting on what she’s given him, but he watches closely. He’ll figure out what it is that’s going on in her mind… He just needs to watch her actions closely.

“If you care to advise me, I would be grateful.”

absolem quirked an eyebrow seeing his surprised expression ( or what was visible of it, given that he was wearing a scarf for some reason. she didn’t question it ), holding back the snicker that wanted to escape her lips. she blinked a few times as the bouquet dropped, frowning before quickly bending down to pick them up. flowers shouldn’t be on the ground, that is always something her mother said. 

for those who didn’t know, absolem ( more like jennie ), adored flowers. she liked raising them and watching them grow rather than picking the flowers and leaving it in her room. although she wasn’t going to attack anyone who did kill flowers for their own happiness, after all, it’d be quite hypocritical in this situation. 

❝technically, the flowers can’t cut you. it’s more of the thorns. ❞ duh. she tried not to roll her eyes and sound like a know-it-all, but it was common sense. she kept her attitude to herself. she held up the rose, pointing at the sharp thorns going down the stem.  ❝this, is how you get cut. amusing how something so beautiful can be so dangerous.❞

❝from what it looks like, it seems i do have more gardening skills than you.❞ she bluntly stated. it wasn’t suppose to come off as mean, but it was the truth. her eyes lit up the moment he accepted her ‘advice’. it wasn’t common that she’d get to talk about this, so maybe she’ll let it slide ( once ). she had to keep some sort of reputation around here. and she wasn’t going to be known as a ‘gardening fairy’ for the rest of the game. 

she realized she was still holding the bouquet and handed it back to him.  ❝well, first, you have to cut the flower at a specific angle for it to one, be in a position where it can get all the water in the vase, and two, just so it looks nice.❞

they’re suppose to be enemies, given their factions, but absolem was always the odd one out. she became friends with the other, instantly melting at his smile as it brought a sense of calm to her. she hid her love for the other from her faction.

“he’s just some loser that can’t patch himself up.” “he’s cute, besides, i’d like to make him hurt myself.” “an eye for an eye. you’ll never know when someone comes in handy.” ”he’s just a tool, stop worrying”

were her generic excuses whenever she was confronted. 

❝honestly, i’d expect you to learn from your mistakes by now. i swear, these are the same ones from last time. ❞ she softly lectured him, softly dabbing the cotton ball on his wound to clean it.

They were both incredibly (and funnily) early and not expected for an hour or so; therefore, they had the time to chat. Sojin extended her hand to the other keeping that beaming smile across her face. “We’re, uhm, co-workers. I mean…” that started on the wrong foot. “Okay, I just made this awkward. Let me scratch that and say, hi, my name is Jo Sojin, nice to meet you.” Hopefully her instinct were not wrong and that she was write about the other being part of the nursing department and was not in MED. It would have been a whole new level of awkward even more so than seconds ago. And, she wanted a friend to hang out with. And, they could go grab a coffee while waiting. Maybe, she was acting out of nervousness and excitement and the girl happened to be the first person to have been around. With her other hand, Sojin scratched her head while nervously giggling. Will she reply now? Or do something? It’s embarrassing. Why is she leaving me hanging?

absolem always had a hard time controlling her emotions. maybe that is why she was rumored to be a ‘favorite’ from the collectors. those heartless, cruel, manipulative, pieces of shits. constantly toying with her emotions, reminding her that her freedom was lost that One day. thank god she had a friend in the game, but they both changed, too much for the ‘smaller’ girl’s liking. 

a soft smile appeared on her visage hearing her real name. it felt nice. she stared blankly down at the cup in front of her. the coffee cooled down at this point and it might as well just be iced coffee, honestly. she held back her tears, not wanting to start crying in front of the other. in front of the collectors. a soft laugh escaped her at thorn’s correction, nodding.  ❝you’re right. but hey, i considered it working.❞ 18. the age she was thrown into this stupid game. 18. the day her humanity was stripped away. 

18. the day Jennie Kim died. 

THREE YEARS AGO

like the other students in her class, she shared the same ambition of wanting to help the world become a better place. she wanted to become a nurse, not a doctor. a doctor was too much for her and the passive little thing she used to be, would never be able to hold the responsibilities of a doctor. first semester passed and she aced her classes with flying colors. sure, she sacrificed basically her social life and sleep, but man it was rewarding just knowing that she’d be moving onto greater things soon to fulfill her goal. seeing her other classmates with happy expressions made her feel a sense of pride for everyone. enter together, leave together. a motto she wanted to hold forever. 

the moment she was in front of the hospital, she couldn’t hold back her excitement. she didn’t even care if any of her peers saw her. thankfully there was someone just as excited near her. her eyes lit up, a soft smile on her visage. she’s seen her around, but never bothered greeting her because- well she was a shy little thing. and she barely went to outings. she wouldn’t be surprised if the other had no idea who she was. she blinked a few times as she was greeted. 

❝oh- hello.❞ she smiled shyly, suddenly intimidated by the other. she was quite tall ( well, taller than jennie ) and not to mention pretty attractive. she couldn’t help but giggle as the other stuttered on her words. she was quite cute. could this be the start of a new friendship? she decided to wait a little for the other to finish talking, finding it too rude to talk in the middle. when she was finish talking, jennie decided it would be fine to speak up now.

❝indeed, we are co-workers.❞ she teased the other before reaching out and shaking her hand.  ❝my name is kim jennie, and it’s quite nice to meet you too. ❞ her voice was soft out of nervousness. she gave the other a soft smile.  ❝i hope we’re able to work well together in the future. ❞

“now where would i hid a cylinder capable of turning into a weapon of mass destruction if put in the right hands?” it only takes a moment before something tickles at his senses in warning. he turns quickly, eyes narrowed. silence.

“who goes there?” he asks in a sing-song tone, eyes scanning the area quickly, lips curling up. “come out, come out, wherever you are. i don’t bite.” much.

she tensed up at the various shots she hears. there are screams. it’s in moments like this that she’s reminded that she does have feelings. it’s nice, in somewhat of a twisted way. it lets her know that she isn’t a robot, that she is still just a human like every other person in this game.she’d have more courage if she had her weapons right now, but sadly she doesn’t. her hands were empty and that caused panic to build up inside of her the very moment she realized she was defenseless. 

she presses herself closer into the shadows as the stranger turned around. the moment she figured out who it was, her eyes lit up and she felt the need to run straight into his arms and cling onto him for protection. but she couldn’t because 

A. she’d most likely get thrown onto the ground if she even made any quick movements 

and 

B. he doesn’t..know that side of her. 

she collected herself before slowly peeking out of the shadows with her hands slightly raised in the air as a sign of surrender. 

❝biting, huh? i didn’t know you were into that.❞ she teased, a smirk on her lips.  ❝but, you’re free to bite me any day.❞ she sent him a playful wink. 

( okay, good job sollie, keep calm! don’t show fear, you got this! deep breathes!! don’t let them know you’re scared and you wanna cry in a corner with a plushie!, she lectured herself in her head. )

❝don’t tell me you’re weaponless too..❞ she sighed.

it was common for absolem to find peace in the field the collectors created. sometimes she just sat there staring at people doing whatever they were doing. normally she would just laze around there with her textbooks rather than in The Shack. it was overwhelming for her at times, and not to mention it made her go off track on her diet ( stupid chef and their extraordinary skills! she could have sworn she gained a few pounds during her first year because she would hide in there ).And the Library as too stuffy for her ( although everyone knew it was huge ) 

 today was a little different. she didn’t have her textbooks or anything relating to the learning center. she was just there to relax and have a little bit of time to herself before the collectors threw her into some stupid situation again. she blinks a few times, noticing someone picking flowers. she walked up behind them, peeking over their shoulder.

❝you’re picking the flowers wrong. you could get cut that way.❞ she mumbled softly, deciding that she’d do a good deed today. and then she can go and live her life of being a horrible,heartless bitch for the next week or so.

the enlightenment pt.1 + @blckcain​

fuck this stupid game, fuck all of these people. she hated the fact that she was nothing but entertainment. the moment she stepped into this game, she felt every single last shred of dignity and individuality stripped away. she was no longer the person she used to be. she doesn’t even remember her name. all she is now is just a serial code and some dumbass nickname she picked for herself.

she panted heavily as she ran to- well, somewhere, her muscles where sore and she felt extremely sluggish. she had no idea what was going on ( like every other incident that happened to her in this stupid place ) and although she kept a calm facade, she was SCARED. she couldn’t find her weapon, her phone, NOTHING. all she had was a stupid, ugly, uniform. 

just like the beginning. 

she wanted to find someone- anyone. please. ( she’s desperate. she’s close to crying )

her eyes widened as she spotted figure ahead of her. she slowed down her pace, keeping a good distance. she knew better than to call them out, so she slide into the shadows to stay safe. she wasn’t risking anything right now. she still kept an eye on the stranger. if it was an ally, she’d be happy, if it was an enemy then she was currently thinking of the quickest way to kill them and take their weapon.

into the rabbit hole + solo

she wakes up with a jolt, eyes darting back and forth out of panic. this isn’t her room. where is she? there are bandages, but she doesn’t feel pain. she picks at it, eyes narrowing in attempts to understand her current situation. it’s soon that she realizes she is in some sort of container. there is panic building up inside of her and her first instinct is flight. she wants out, she wants home. a squeak escapes her lips as the container opens, stumbling back. she heads out, but not before taking a moment to peek outside. it’s another container. great.

container after container, she was getting sick of this. whoever was doing- well, this, was getting on her nerves. the moment she had to throw away her clothing, that was it. that was the last straw. how dare they make her throw away her clothing. it seems like she didn’t have a choice. and then she had to change into the ugly uniform. who in their right mind would wear something disgusting like this on a normal day. as she passes the mirror, her eyes widened as she noticed her appearance. 

❝WHAT THE FUCK❞ her voice is raspy after not speaking for so long.

she stares at the gun in front of her, eyes scanning over the letter next to it. it takes her a few moments to comprehend what was going on. the moment she fully grasps her situation, she lunges for the gun and points it straight at her opponent. she doesn’t want to kill.

she isn’t a murderer.

but she’s afraid to die.
