double-determination:
There was a bout of silence for a short span of time from the one in question, but only for a moment. A thin line was set on their face, eyebrows furrowed, as if contemplating a difficult choice. But all rights, they could have kept up the silence for some time longer. And yet, they could not stand the torture both of them were putting themselves through. Not anymore. This had to stop. And the only way to stop the cycle of torment, was to confront him. Small hands tremble as they were raised and slowly, but swiftly, defaulted to signing, their owner was not trusting their own voice at the moment.
[I didn’t think I would muster the courage to face you. But here we are.] There was a pause, then the hands moved once more, their body tensing just slightly. [I… There is something I need to tell you. If… If you like… I mean…] Another pause, their body trembling slightly. What did they have to fear at this point? Rejection? Anger? Frisk would accept the anger, and the rejection, even if it would hurt them deeply. Frisk made a mistake, it was only right that they would be scolded for such a thing, and be punished. The consequences should not all on Chara to bare. Even if it would lead to another True RESET. [Would you listen to what I want to say? Please?]
Crimson eyes looked downward, as if unable to look at the other. It’d been how long since Frisk had stopped responding? Years? Millennia? Chara had lost count. He’d been angry, and taken it out on the wrong people. Angry for Asriel failing, angry at himself for dying. And yet... Here he was in this kid’s body, holding it hostage (or so it seemed). But when Frisk started signing, Chara glanced at their hands and listened. Giving a nod, he sighed.
“I’ve just... been waiting for you to talk again. They all miss you, you know. They love and adore you.” They being the monsters. If that didn’t sway Frisk, well... Chara stepped aside to show them Papyrus making a snow Papyrus. It was winter, the first snow of the surface.
