This place was weird. With their talking… monsters. At least it wasn’t Noise. She’d been watching this kid walk back and forth, resetting the bridge flowers for what felt like forever. Didn’t the kid have a hunk of armour after them? Why were they continually doing this? And she thought the punning skeleton and the angry tall skeleton who thought he was cool (and Chris wouldn’t say that she might think he was) were weird.
Chris still couldn’t remember ever coming down here willingly. Had she slipped and hit her head? Probably a coma dream… but then why was there someone else here? She didn’t ask for this!
“You’ve been doing that for hours, kid. Haven’t you figured it out by now?” Chris asked with a huff. Grabbing one of the bridge flowers, she tossed it into the river before watching it head up the stream and stop where it was supposed to. She then proceeded to do it with the others until it formed the proper bridge the kid needed to cross. “There. Bridge. Now go across it before than weird hunk of armour catches you.”

Everything about this was strange to them. Not entirely new, per-say, but different all the same. Bittersweet, if any words could ever be described. Though they did feel the need to flee or just stay far away from a certain punny skeleton. As harmless as he looked, they knew far better than that. Even though they should be trembling in fear of being caught, they were actually taking the quiet from Waterfall as an opportunity to calm themselves and try to think of what to do next.
Everyone had been spaced and then some up til now. Chara was still with them, much to their relief. Though he had been quiet for a while now, which did bring a small level of concern. Not enough to lower their HOPE, however. Doing the bridge over and over again was just the brunette running on both fumes and autopilot at this point, as they tiny hands were merely flexing out of habit as their thoughts drifted to who to speak with, where to go, and how all this happened. Something did feel off about this, and they knew that sooner or later, a certain comedian would go to them to get some answers. Answers that the child had none to even know, let alone speak of.
“There. Bridge. Now go across it before than weird hunk of armour catches you.”
The train of thought was broken when a new voice spoke up with a very audible huff, breaking the monotone of the quiet around them. The child blinked a few times, clearly confused for a moment, shaking their head lightly as they were having to bring themself back to reality. ‘Weird hunk of armo-- Oh no! Undyne!’ Realization sunk in fast as they looked around quickly, only to calm down slightly in not immediately seeing the head of the Royal Guard. Though that did not mean they could rest. When was the last time a chance was made known? Too long. Still, they could not stop now. With another look around, their warm brown gaze turn to the other.. human there or at least they thought the other was, and waved their arm before signing the other, as well as mouthing the words silently.
[Thank you! Let’s get going together! I don’t want Undyne to catch you too!] With that, the brunette dashed away, across the flowers bridge to the next leg of their journey. ‘Wonder who they are.. they seemed nice enough.‘ The child thought, though they knew at any time their partner would put in his two cents.
