It is with broken hearts that we have to announce that our directory will be taking an indefinite hiatus. We, as admins LOVE all of our players and we love this group, however, due to personal reasons, things have fallen by the wayside. We would love to see you stick around if you’d like, continue playing your characters! We will consider the Easter event over. If you want to move on, however, we will understand.

Is shapeshifting an acceptable quirk? Or is it too general?
I would accept that as a quirk as well! I believe it would go under transformation-type but I do have one condition since shape-shifting can be quite overpowered.
You cannot shape-shift into other characters to copy their quirks. Your shape-shifting would be limited to animals, objects, etc.

QUIRK
Quirk: Nothingness Manipulation (Emitter) – User can remove items from existence, either simply making things disappear, preventing energy from ever being conceived or some other way. They can delete an eternity, removing targets from all lineages of time in every dimension, alter, reverse, or negate energy, etc.
Sub-Abilities:
Black Hole Creation – Users are able to create black holes that can virtually suck in matter and energy. The victim or object will be ripped to shreds when they enter a black hole, they would be erased to nothingness as body molecule, matter and energy will be absorbed, causing instant death.
Levitation/Teleportation – By being able to remove gravity (to some extent), the User can cause oneself/subjects/objects to hover/float in the air unassisted, allowing the user to carelessly float in the air and prevent their bodies from making contact with the ground below. The user can also teleport, or transfer matter (beings/objects, including themselves) or energy from one point to another without traversing the physical space between them.
Imperceptibility – The user is totally imperceptible, and as such can in no way be detected or communicated with by external forces, whether physical, mental, spiritual, technological, etc. They can’t be touched or perceived, by smell, touch, vision, hearing, etc and give off no heat, auras or energy, leave any evidence of their presence, yet the space they occupy has no lack of it. To all senses, the user does not exist.
Concept Destruction – The user can destroy any/all forms of concepts such as pain, emotions, memory by manipulating nothingness and removing the concept from the others or themselves. This also encompasses the concepts of quirk, which interrelate with quirk negation, which allows the user to temporarily negate a quirk for a period of time.
Tracking Evasion – The user can’t be tracked down, all the traces of their passing disappear or are ignored: fallen hair, blood, skin particles, etc. will dissipate into dust and no scent is given off. They do leave behind a trace such as broken sticks or disturbed leaves, but to the less observant eye, it would only be said to be wild animals.
Weaknesses:
Fatigue – Continuous use of the quirk can lead to intense fatigue. This may result to unconsciousness in some serious cases.
Strength – A major weakness within the quirk would be the opponent whom the user faces, if their strength exceeds that of the user, the user’s quirk are seemingly useless or less effective.
Memory – When removing something out of existence a partial part of the user’s own memory goes along with it. The memory that ends up being removed is dependent on the importance of the object that is being removed out of existence. The more important it is, the more severe the memories are, however with consistent meditation and diary keeping, the user is able to ascertain some degree of their missing memories.
Immobility – Due to the nature of the quirk, defence is the user’s strong suit, if the user’s opponent is able to break through their first line of defence, the user becomes incredibly vulnerable.
Emotions – A lot of the user’s power and fighting spirit derives from emotion and at times depends on them to be at the peak of their abilities.
BIOGRAPHY
Background:
Spring.
She was spring’s child. Blessed with the unison of an elegant lady, to the stern man with dentures of seriousness on his features, as grotesque shadows dance, frighteningly across white walls. Tempestuous were the caressing arms that embraced tender flesh, it started off with the innocence of spring, gradually brimming, ablaze with felicity and blossoms to the buds of adolescence. Oh, young love. And as the product of their loving dance, she was taken home by her sweet brother gently stroking her hand. Night falls, cradling in father’s security, the child whistles softly, breathing, breathing and sleeping to the gentle whisper of her lullaby. She was their second treasure they had prided on for so long, and for years to come. She was the addition to the political prowess and adroitness of the Scarlet Skies Petroleum. The lullaby gradually ceases to the benevolent murmurs of her very first dream.
The weeks shift, gradually – pages turn on the numerical diary and soon, months transpire. And so, the spring’s child perpetuates purposefully.
Summer.
Elegantly, she is placed in the study room, fingers kissing the pages as they flip one by one, and slowly all that’s left are the empty shelves once filled with untold stories. Her mother is proud, a hand caressing her nape as a gentle peck is planted on her ebony locks. She is greeted by doting embraces and a gentle caress by the brow, her mother smiles, porcelain skin shimmering under extortionate garments, prised by her dearly beloved. And she smiles back, resisting to return the intimacy.
Autumn.
The first leaves fall in her presence, from mint to bronze, red then spined brown. She has matured a little – so they say. Odd silver strands tinted with hazel waver in the breeze, with the glimmer of spring’s dawn in her orbs. She was the blessing of spring, and autumn was the season she first discovered her control over her quirk. Her summoning of her armament manipulation, mistaking it as an ability to store her beloved teddy bears and favourite books. Her heart was racing only to be moulded by the consuming necessity of independence. And she resists – like she had always. The afternoon zephyr of henna and gold blissfully caresses her cheek and autumn, autumn was the first time she set foot in uncharted territory – and autumn was when she had let her parents down.
Careful fingers lace around the golden handle that led to the array of extravagance, and there sat, the woman she had cherished for nine years of her life and the man she had learnt to become for more than what she has become.
“Oh, dear.. You promised us, you wouldn’t..”
Her voice mutters in whimpers of cries and she stood there, deciphering their every sound. She felt remorse as her father’s convulse grip lacerated her pale flesh the father squints only to see the hinting of the very salvation of her quirk and that night, they all cried.
Winter.
The burning of ice and snow, the gentle touch of the chilling breeze and she loved it as much as she loved her brother. But why, why is that he lay so limply on the white mattress. She sat beside him, fingers pressured against her temples, and ever so harshly her brows knit in concern. It was her fault. She was the one with the quirk. It had always been her. Like the time she made him cry, having hopped off the sea-saw too early as she watched her brother hit the ground in tears. Like the time she made him sad, dragging him out of the toy store because mother insisted on buying only her toy as a reward for her good behavior and she never understood why – until now. Like the time she made her angry, going out with the excuse of school when really, she was practicing her quirk and not returning until the very next day, she never understood why he never told father – until now. And like the time she cried, and he came nevertheless to embrace her and to tell her that it was all right. And she never understood why.
She got better and slow she was almost fixed - almost. But one thing that never got better was the screams and shrills of her parents echoing down the hallway. Everyday – it was the same.
Spring again.
And this time she’s no longer the child her father had cradled to sleep, no longer the child her mother whispered her lullabies to.
Instead she was a defiant daughter of the Kim family, who persisted in using her quirk for good. Welcome to Seoul’s National Hero Academy, Ultear.
Personality:
Loyal – an everlasting chain of hope and faith that intertwined the two together, like metals beneath the flames of passion. and she would not only die but also kill for the ones she loves. an open heart and an embrace welcoming those kind hearted alike, don’t take advantage though, her loyalty is not as fickle as the thread that hung by her sleeve. it is embodied in her very bones.
Protective – her armor encasing the fragility of her need to protect those she swore an oath by. her fists tightened, white peering through her skin, a thin layer of vulnerability in the world of dangerous deeds and even more dangerous betrayals. she’s here for you, here to protect you and hold you in her embrace.
Courageous – a burning heart with an even more fierce flame that swarmed her entirety, a scarlet aura that controls her instincts, she is brave, courageous but most of all righteous indignation of the traitors that left their blades on others’ backs. spines protruding from their flesh, give it some time, let it heal.
Stubborn – a door with no entrance, no pavement leading up to its grandeur architectures that encompassed the veins of tomorrow, the regrets of yesterday and the happiness of the present. no entrance, no pavement, no doors to leave from the inside, it was as if the decision that was made inside was made to be decided not changed.

biography
background:
yeong “arlen” hwaryun was born and raised near the beautiful remnants of mount halla in jeju-do, south korea along with her widowed mother and grandmother. her deceased father and former hero had been sent to the stars above to watch over them.
in the past, while the family had re-located to seoul, a terrible incident had taken place, which had taken her father’s life to save his own child. during the short span of time on that day, was the moment when her abilities had come into motion. with a dead man, whom she knew far too well, laid dead before eyes as fear and anguish filled her heart. in a blink of an eye, the building she had once stood in had crumbled to the ground. she had no memory of the aftermath of the following destruction she had caused, but only a painful memory which would return and envelop her nightmares during her worst moments.
once the time of darkness had passed and her heart had somehow healed, she had decided to return to seoul with the answer to able to live a life her father did not want her regret.
personality:
charismatic, creative, sensitive, intelligent, and kind : while being drawn to the existence of beautiful art, and sensual pleasures. she can be most identified as a modern eccentric romanticist. she has a strong sense of responsibility and fairness. she doesn’t stray from the weak or defenseless whenever she sees it. however, if the action or plan were to affect another, her instinctive capabilities would strongly oppose her mindset. while working as part of a team, fairness and open-mindedness are some of her strongest points. she would never shy away from a healthy conflict - as she loves a good rousing debate when both sides can spar respectfully. there are instances when her meticulous nature can be quite irksome at times for those around her. her dissatisfaction might sometimes feel passive-aggressive, but don’t worry too much about it as it may just be herself having a difficult day.

Quirk: Soul Manipulation: able to manipulate soul also known as spirits as well as essence of anything that is sentient. It allows the user’s soul to come to life after dying once, remained alive until the body is full damaged.
Sub-Abilities:
Soul Shielding:
to create a shield wall or a field to protect himself and other people around him (max of 200 yard) by using his own or the souls of others.
Soul Creature Creation:
able to create beings of souls/spirits or shape existing souls into wanted shapes and purposes. Usually he uses his tattoos as mediums for the soul/spirit to temporarily reside in.
can grant the beings varying levels of independence (controlled, automatons/programmed, semi-independent) and existence (momentary to permanent) and delete the creature once they are done with them.
Weaknesses:
He doesn’t know the limit to his powers,
therefore, if his powers is at its limits, he would just shut down (collapse, faint), hence, becoming defencless.
On that note, he don’t normally fight or uses his powers to its full ability when he is alone with/or/for strangers.
He’ll take a full three days sleep to recover from the collapse.
Since he’s able to sense one’s state, he often being called off for being a creep/freak, hence, he rather not approach or say anything unless needed.
Biography:
Background: He was the only child, yet he loved it. Loved by his parents, Dean have had a decent life. He grew up in decent towns, went to normal schools, had normal friends. Though, he himself isn’t normal at all. He knew he was different and had lived his entire life in hiding of his own super abilities. Naturally, you’d find it strange if you could see hollowed spirits walking through people and walls, hovering around instead of having their feet touching the ground— Dean was a smart boy to figure it out that it wasn’t normal to see these things yet, he was matured enough to accept and learn to co-exist with them. He respected the dead, those spirits. Acknowledging their existence, no one ever knew the spiritual world like Dean does— not all were about horror stories and evil spirits, they were almost like the living; some were good some were bad. “I can interact with ghosts, what’s the big deal?“Was his mere thought.
It didn’t take him long to realize that he was capable of more then just seeing and interacting with spirits— he could also temporarily bring non-living things to life.
You see, he was a natural when it comes to drawing. His mind was overflowing with exceptionally great ideas of turning something into a wonderful mystical creature; an aspiring character designer. His inspiration were merely from birds that were soaring up in the sky, insects that were hiding under rocks and of plants that were planted on natural grounds— of everyday things. Only with that, it was enough to let his mind run wild, to create anything and everything. In his mind, everything was alive, like those characters that was brought into production where they were turned into animations, into beings. And that was exactly how, he discovered his true powers. He could animate them without using a program for it, only by using his mind. And soon enough, only his drawings he could bring to life but also things like toys, statues and even objects Dean could bestow the breath of life into them. As if he was a puppet master.
Personality:
A reserved kind-of guy who obviously doesn’t like to be bothered; he does his work best alone. He’s a man of very few words; apathetic and cool. Often being misjudged by most for affiliating with the rebel due to the bad-boy image he portrays. The type that would always stay quiet, like a shadow, he often would hang around just for the sake of it. Wasn’t interested in keeping friends, or establishing relationships, he was rather peculiar but he loves it like that. Though, you’d be surprise to learn that he actually stand by the neutral party. He never actually break the rules, not because he has some life-principle he hold on to but because he simply doesn’t like the attention and in fact, he love that whole idea of being low profile; being really low-profile.
On the other hand, Dean isn’t someone whom you would want to mess around with despite his hatred for attention. Because he has a temper, so bad that he could kill; literally. Although most of the time, he hope you won’t run away when you actually witness him this way. Because there is another side of him he don’t usually show but all so desperately wanted others to know; that he isn’t all angst and anti-social but can also be all about rainbows and butterflies. That he can be sweet and romantic.
Sensitive yet tough. Evil yet good. Be nice or choose not to be, because honestly he couldn’t care less. He treats you exactly how you treats him, so choose your way.
This is a hugely open question and there are so many possibilities!
Personally, I’d love to see more transformation quirks, or mutant quirks that aren’t animal based! Nearly anything can be a power, so have fun with it!
i'm interested in bringing in a villain but i was just wondering. are the villains ever going to be revealed later on in the rp with it's progression?? or will they always remain anonymous??
At this point in the storyline, we would like to keep the villains anonymous publicly, but it’s something on our radar for the future, definitely!
Mod Ame misses everyone SOSOmuch, but due to her crazy crazy work schedule she’s been unable to do acceptances and a few other things around here.
However! She’s given me the golden power of accepting! and so I’ll be posting some pseudo-acceptances! We’re really excited about the new Heroes that will be joining us! That being said, these new heroes will be added to the blogroll and are free to start plotting and rp-ing as soon as I get these posts made! Their rooming and squad assignments will be posted late as well. (they just don’t have the phenomenal graphics that Mod Ame puts together, so “official” acceptances will come this weekend or early next week)

Sweet Heroes and Villains alike, it is I, Mod Kai. Just a little intro here. I’ve known Mod Ame for a nice long while. We’ve been a part of several different RPs together and I’m excited to be helping them out here! Academia seems like an awesome group of muns and muses and I look forward to interacting with each and every one of you (yes, I do in fact have a muse among you all!)
I’m going to be around answering questions and keeping lists and the blogroll updated while Mod Ame is being amazing. I know a lot about what’s going on and my knowledge base will grow the longer I’m here, but at the start, some questions may have to wait until the next day when I can get a hold of Mod Ame for answers.
