So how's... everyone?
She blushed when he held her hand and and shook her head. âNo, not really.. Anywhere is fine if⊠Well, anywhere is fine!â She laughed nervously, glad that she caught herself before she said âas long as itâs with you.â
"Anywhere, huh? What if I told you I haven't really planned this out yet?" He grinned nervously, though he would tug her towards the school gates with confidence. "I have an idea of where to go, but it's pretty far from here. It's not a place where we can just walk to either."Â
Kylie smiled when her phone finally vibrated. She texted him as she walked out the door. âWow, already? Iâll be there soon!â She had been getting ready for most of the morning, and was simply waiting for him to text her all day. She tried to calm herself before she saw him, but she was just too excited.
âFire! There you are!â She greeted him with a big hug.
He shyly hugged her back, letting out his usual laugh. "Y-yeah, I got here the second I texted you actually." He smiled, wasting no time to break the hug and interlocking his fingers with hers. "So, anywhere in particular you'd like to go?"
SO IT WAS FINALLY SUNDAY... meaning his date was today.
Fire grin as he flipped open his phone, fingers eager to send another text to Kylie: "let me know when youre ready, im by the fountain as always!!"
So my schedule is school, homework, training for work, school, studying, more homework, and then a date on Sunday.
Yeah, it's going to be a busy week.
Her grin grew wider and she went up on the balls of her feet to kiss his cheek. âIâd love to go out on a date with you, Fire.â
She wrapped both arms around his neck and snuggled closer to him. âBut you better plan it better than this, because itâs freezing up here!â
"H-hey, you have to admit it was pretty creative...!" He rubbed her back softly and looked away in slight embarrassment, letting the past few minutes sink in for a bit. "But don't worry, I will. How does next Sunday sound? I doubt we'll have fun with classes in the way."

"Yes, really." His smile was calmer now, a hint of seriousness dripping from his words. "I am seriously asking you out. And er, I don't mean 'going out to do some homework' either. I mean like an actual date."Â
She followed his lead, no matter how shaky and nervous it was. Truth be told, she was nervous too, but she was just better at hiding it.

She couldnât help but smile. He was so cute when he was nervous. âAlright, Iâll trust your judgement, then.â She took his other hand and placed it on her waist, while her free hand rested on his shoulder. âReady?â
Damn, this girl was straight-foward.Â
He had to clear his throat before speaking again, his feet growing restless in anticipation. "I... should be the one asking you that, hah."
Fire took a deep breath before taking his first step.
âWhat?â She looked around then smiled nervously up at him. âBut, we donât even have any music..â
"I... w-well..." He looked away scratching his cheek, as if trying to rid the blush on his face with his fingernail. "S-see, this is why I told you not to expect much out of this...! I don't really... have anything on me that can play music or anything, but..."
He let out a nervous sigh, though his hands began to clasp against her own. "But... just wing this with me, yeah?"
After all that walking, her feet were starting to bother her, but one look at the sky made her forget about it.
âFire..â She whispered as she looked up and squeezed his hand. âItâs beautiful up here.â
He smiled, but he couldn't help but feel a bit bad for pulling her away and making her stand with him in the middle of the rooftop. "First thing's first though, that dance...?"
âOh!â She blushed and looked away. âI didnât mean to.. I just meant hanging out with me tonight..â
She picked up her pace a bit to keep up with him. â âCatch usâ? What exactly are we doing?â
"Nothing bad, I swear. We'll just have to make sure no one knows where we're going."
He led her towards the stairs, thinking it would be a better alternative to using the noisy elevators. He made sure they took their time, seeing as she would have to climb a couple of flights in heels.
They eventually made it on the roof with the time passing long enough for the stars to flicker within the dark sky. Fire had a look of accomplishment on his face upon seeing this, though it softened as he looked back at her. "See? It's nothing special, but the roof is usually off limits during this time."
He brought her closer to the railing, placing his free hand on top of her own in case she scared of heights. "We never got to finish our Astronomy homework the other day, so I thought maybe we could kill two birds with one stone. It'd be easier to count the stars here with this view."
âOkay!â She snuck a glance up at his face and smiled at how nervous he looked. âIt doesnât have to be super fancy. Iâm just glad that youâre taking me out.â
"I hope it's okay though," he frowned as he made slight eye contact with her. "I mean, it's not really 'taking you out,' but hey, I'm making the most of what we can do." He took a quick look at the sky; the sun was minutes away from disappearing into the horizon, good. The thought brought his smile back as he tugged her through the door.
"Just hope that the teachers don't catch us or anything."
She giggled when she grabbed onto his elbow with both hands. âMhm! But.. Where are we going?â
He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand. "Eheh, well... promise me you won't keep your hopes up, alright? I don't want to risk getting you in trouble by sneaking out of campus this late, so don't expect anything too fancy." A nervous chuckle left his mouth as he started walking ahead towards one of the school's buildings.
She blushed and brushed off the bottom of her dress. âNo⊠I could never make you wait that long. Thatâd be so mean!â
She spun around with a huge smile on her face to show off every bit of her outfit. âReally, you think so? Does it look good on me?â
"Of course it does! But then again, what doesn't?" He laughed a bit in realization at how corny he was sounding but eventually shrugged it off, nudging her with his elbow for her to hold onto. "You ready?"
Kylie checked her hair one last time before dashing out of the dorm. Luckily, she had a lot of practice walking in heels, so she was able to run to the fountain. Once he was in sight, she slowed down, straightened her dress and tried to catch her breath.
âFire!â She called out and waved. âFire, Iâm so so SO sorry! My phone died right after you texted me, and Iâve been getting ready ever since.. You havenât been waiting long, have you?â
He jerked his head in the direction of his name, a grin slowly forming on his lips as he moved towards her. "Not at all! I'd be willing to wait for another hour or so. You didn't have to rush yourself like that." He eyed her outfit, the corners of his lips tugging upward each time he was able to pinpoint the details she had mentioned beforehand: the silver pendant around her neck, the matching color scheme of her dress and earrings, even the floral embroidery on her heels. "So this is what you were going to wear at the dance? Heh, you would've been the fanciest one dressed there!"
