The way ive been thinking about this line specifically in the context of blurryface saying it. Like. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but the idea that the first thing your personified depression says to you is that you're alone, in over your own head, and overdramatic. Because thats what depression is, right? It makes you feel isolated, guilty for putting anyone else through the pain of knowing you. It tells you that you must face it alone and that you're destined to fail. Any pride you feel in yourself is unwarranted and childish. how DARE you be proud of yourself for anything when others do it with such ease? and then it tells you that you're being too emotional. you overreact to every bad thing happening to you and thats why you're so upset.

idk thats at least how i interpret it because thats what my own blurryface tells me.
