As Kayn stepped further into the room, he carefully navigated his way through the bodies over to Iago, frowning as he saw how bloody they were. Sighing, he took a handkerchief out of his pocket before handing it over, "Oh, darling." The palidin frowned, silently wondering if he needed to pick the other up so they wouldn't need to navigate the carnage, "Why don't we get you to an inn and get you all cleaned up there? We don't need you looking like you just came from a slaughterhouse...even though it's quite clear you did." He chuckled, offering them a hand, "Unless... would you like me to carry you? Do you need me to? I just want to make sure you're alright."

Iago snatches up the handkerchief and immediately sets to wiping down each shaky finger, a pout of sorts donning their face when he compares them to slaughter.

"A bath sounds divine," they say, trying to focus on only their hands and not at all on the mess surrounding them. They only look up when a hand raises in their peripheral and makes them flinch. An offer, nothing more. Turning their hands over until they're satisfied enough by the state of them, they relent, putting one of theirs in his to keep steady while they step over a body still twitchy with lightning.

"I'll get as far as I can on my own two feet, but do be a hero and catch me if I faint," Iago requests, screwing one eye shut while they shuffle past a mangle of bones. They navigate the scene delicately with an air of disgust and muted irritation- despite being the one at fault.

Iago only knew what he said by reading his lips. His hands were on top of their own, tightly clamped over their ears. Today's cacophony of ghouls was so much worse than usual. A chorus of wails and wordless screams filled their head and their head alone while ghostly figures agonized in their peripheral. They tried, really tried, to put up with it for as long as they could, endure it silently. They worry their parents otherwise, and they did not want to be taken to another specialist. So it's a blessing that Puck was the one who found them tucked into a corner like the teary-eyed child they were, and did not second guess them for a moment.

All they can give as thanks is a gentle bump of their head into his chest, ears still safely covered from the sounds. There, Puck dutifully let them stay until the noises quieted down, and then a little while longer, lulled into a comforted and much-needed little doze.

It isn't often Iago hears such words, but they're quick to agree with a curt nod. The resident distance fighter doesn't often get up close and personal with conflict, preferring the safety of flinging spells from afar. But that isn't to say they're helpless in close quarters- evident by the carnage Kayn finds them in the midst of when a handful of their enemies made the unfortunate mistake of pinning Iago as a lone, easy target.

"I'm filthy," they whine, bloodied, smoking hands held in front of them. Hardly any of the blood is theirs, but they sway on their feet nonetheless. They use their boot to nudge a severed head facedown so it stops staring at them. "You don't happen to have a... a handkerchief, do you?"

"You'll really go with me?" Iago asks quietly, staring up at the dark canopy above their bed. They don't look at Vayu, despite being the one to ask him to stay. Until I fall asleep, they'd pleaded, knowing that they'd get no more rest that night than any other sleepless night since Puck left them. They've been terrified, heartbroken, driven mad, unbearably lonely- save for the lifeline of Vayu's company.

Despite it all, they still wait for their brother. It's far from the first time Vayu has suggested such an escape, but it's the first time their insistence upon a futile vigil has died on their tongue. If their brother was truly going to come back for them, he would have by now.

Their voice is strangled and broken, and their pinky searches for his to latch onto in the dark, shaking, "And you'll stay, then? Even when you grow tired of me, you'll... You won't... Swear you won't leave me. Tell me that you won't leave me alone." Please.
