Taking a while, im a sucker for a tedious project, but it's taking good shape now. Id originally planned on selling this board, but now I feel I've gone and chucked one of my favourites on it that is a little too niche for markets. So lmk if you want it I guess

HOLY SHIT I FINISHED MY SKETCHBOOK :0

This is honestly pretty big for me, I've been primarily digital art based for years and haven't filled up sketchbooks the way you see some content creators (somehow) do.

November 2024 - May 2026 (18 months)

Thoughout this time I have been:

- squatting because of housing issues

- forced to move across the country

- awarded a Masters Degree

- reconnected with and met so many lovely people

I'm not usually someone to be emotional about finishing a sketchbook, however a LOT has changed during its time and honestly it's probably my favourite collection of artwork/memories to date.

Art is a record of our time on earth, I like to remind myself that sometimes.

This is my 3rd long furby I've worked on and is apart of an art trade in return for a tattoo. Super stocked with this project was my most ambitious one yet.

Brief was kischy, vintage toy vibe.

Features include:

7 usable pockets

Squeakers in the anteni

Custom oversized furby tag

Pose-able spine

Fuck ai, go make some weird stuff with your hands !!

Here is my first proper post to this media archive, hope you enjoy!

PRANG, Gender Roles' first and only full length album is a piece of media I have a lot of history with. Released in 2019 this collection of 10 songs is one I've found myself going back to over and over again. I remember sitting in the exam hall of my highschool reciting songs from "Lazer rush" to keep myself sane as the hours passed. Years later I still hold this album dear to my heart, it's sound and energy lighting the flame of my own personal taste in music alongside other artists such as Bad Nerves and Mike Krol.

This album is best played loud, radiating satisfying riffs and a primarily upbeat vibe. I've found myself reading deeper into the lyrics over the years and find the writing is clever and metaphorical. I want to say that it reminds me of Daniel Tanghal's writing in Meth Wax but I feel as though the more recent work of Really Big Really Clever (Gender Roles members Jared Tomkins and Jordan Lilford's current project) is more reflective of an more ignorant style of writing? Particularly in their most recent release "…huh". I hope that makes some sense at least? Some stand out tracks on PRANG to me are: "Always" "Ickie" "Schools Out". But I think "Tip Of My Tongue" is my favorite from the album or at least the one that resonated with me most during the albums initial release.

Now I'm no music expert and this is purely just somewhere for me to dump my special interests. But I feel rather passionate about the preservation of physical media, especially for the stuff I consider hidden gems. This may not be for everyone but I like music that particularly scratches an itch in my brain, and I can only hope it might scratch an itch in someone else's too :))
