What advice would you give to young musicians and producers who want to try and make music a career? Especially those in more niche avenues. How do you build connections from zero and get yourself out there in the first place? Hope you're doing good, your production style is super inspirational especially your percussion n drums.
hey boss!!
My best advice is to re-create elements of songs you like! So, if you like a synth/pad from a song, for example, try to re-create that synth and then save it to an organised library for later! If you keep doing this with different sounds, you'll eventually have a great unique library of sounds based on your taste only.
When it comes to drums, save the sounds you *really* like and use those often instead of browsing a library of 10 000+ samples every time you need a snare. You should make sure the samples you use sound good without much processing instead of trying to shape bad sounds in an advanced way. Skip all the over complicated shit and use your ears. You don't need a specific expensive compressor or EQ to make a snare sound good. I mostly shape my sounds with EQ and Limiters anyways, and if you use Ableton, you can use the Sampler to shape drums/samples. Don't make it harder than it has to be!
The best way of building connections is probably to talk to new people about music as much as you can, and find people who like the same thing as you do. Don't be afraid to show your music to others, what you think sounds like shit probably sounds really good to someone else, and maybe you can work together to make it even better? Good luck!! Also, send me your music if you want!
really appreciate it <3
hello do you have any other songs that you produced that are similiar to hotel in minsk or any otw?
acea- bloos on my spotify or anywhere else. Got some other nice vocal stuff in the pipeline
I was just listening to The One by Adamn Killa again and remembered that you're a damn good producer, so I came here. I hope you stream again someday and work with Lean again in the future because you guys are such a good match. Anyway, have a great day!
Thank you!! Yes that'd be fun to do again
What happened to your leg?
Gave it up for a lex luger sample pack
but for real, I was born without it! Dysmelia I think, rip leg!
How would you rank production skills between you, whitearmor, gud and sherm lol.
gud is the best ofc
Be honest. Are you related to Bill SkarsgƄrd? You look a lot like him!
Iām his daddy, honestly!
Hope you have a great day today bro. You deserve it. ā¤ļø
made my day even better!! right back at you!!ā¤ļøā¤ļø
I canāt believe I never knew you had this ask set up! I just have to tell you: Youāre responsible for the sounds that formed who I am today; for the soundtrack playing in the car on the highway as I grew up with my best friends. Your divine synth work and mixing ability is a big part of what has inspired me to start making music these past few years. Iām not sure when Iāll be ready, but one day my dream is to work with you! First I have to make sure Iām worthy;) ~ Love, Sidelio
This is the most uplifting seen Iāve seen on here by far!! Itās a lot to take in, and it really means more than you know!! Make sure to send me your stuff to [email protected] when you want!! <3
THANK YOU AGAIN!!
drop that āacea essentials sample packā please haha
That is a great idea!!
Can i collab with you?
Ok anonymous
What age did u start making music?
Got Ableton in 2006 and then Logic 9 in 2009 which is when I started releasing songs. So I started when I was 11 basically but the stuff I made was obviously not good!! But it was fun and that is the only important thing :)
For me, you made the best Yung Lean song, thank you !!!
Thank YOU!!ā¤ļøā¤ļø Which one?
Bliss with Saffran out super soon <3
What do you actually do for a living right now?
A split between music (some placement work and production for other artists) and graphic design for an esports company!
