tatumdane.

tatum may or may not have been avoiding going home on his way back from work, and instead decided to pick up a coffee from the local coffee shop. he entered the small building, the warm air embracing him, a strong aroma of coffee beans. the male only had to wait a few minutes in line, until he reached the barista, then ordering his usual hot drink. after his drink was finished, tatum left with the hot cup in his hand, his head ducked down as he started to walk out the coffee shop. it wasn’t a surprise that tatum accidentally bumped into a passerby that was walking into the shop, and tatum glanced up, an apology falling off his lips. when he noticed the other person, his eyes lit up, enthused to see a familiar face. “ oh, hey ! didn’t mean to bump into you. how’ve you been ? ”

sax case in hand, his grip tightened on it immediately as someone crashed into him -- threatening the dear life of his instrument. blinking the face into recognition, ace grinned, shifting the case to his other hand so he could offer his dominant hand in greeting. “hey tate, long time no see.” he said with a laugh. “i’ve been good, real good. how’ve you been? hopefully not getting into too much trouble, eh?”

“ i’m thinking of putting up a sign that says ‘ no honey if you aren’t sweet, ‘ or something. some of the people who shop at hi honey are so rude, “ the blonde began, taking her jacket off and collapsing onto the other’s couch. “ like, this lady came in today asking for something from burt’s bees, which is reasonable because we sell bee-related products, but when i told her we didn’t carry anything from that company, instead of trying the cvs down the street, she went off on me. how rude is that ? “

ace listened intently, eyes focused on the screen before him. by the voice in his doorway, he could tell it was sage, and he nodded briefly to acknowledge her though she was already well into the struggles of working retails. “burt’s bees really has that bee market down though, ya know? when i think of bees i think of honeycombs the cereal and then burts bees chapstick.” as he was murdered on screen, ace let out a sigh, dropping the controller onto the glass table before him. sitting back on the couch, he turned to give sage his full attention. “shoppers are way too entitled. i worked at a mall for two days and i was fucking done. i don’t know how you do it.”

though he was smiling, there was no way taron could ignore the tension that taken root in the apartment. “yeah. she was tired and feeling a little fussy. she had a long day, anyway. we went to the park with the boys.” taron tapped his fingers along the leather of the couch, watching james for a moment. “i just had a salad and a beer. she had some mushy peas. have you eaten yet?” why was he even asking? he could feel the rush familiar feelings coursing through him as they spoke.

he nodded, determined to make ❛ it sounds like you two have had a good day. ❜ he glanced at the tv momentarily, and wondered if having having children automatically roped you into liking kids programs again. he greeted the two dogs before turning back to taron. ❛ just because you have a salad with a beer doesn’t make it balanced. you need to take better care of yourself. nah, i’m good. i’ll eat when i go back to mine. i was just checking up on you. ❜

“ i just spent ten minutes in the elevator thinking i was stuck. turns out that i forgot to press the button for the floor i wanted, and that’s why the elevator wasn’t moving. there i was, thinking i was going to die, and literally all i had to do was press a button. “

ace shot her a concerned look, turning the key for the mailbox regardless. ❛ are you okay? ❜ fetching the stray pieces of mail -- because most of the important information came electronically, he relocked the box as she finished. ❛ have you been sleeping alright? maybe you’re sleep deprived. ❜

spinning the metal pick along the red-hot glass, the shatter instantly burned away, transforming the waxy substance into a thick plume of white smoke that snaked through taron’s newest rig. the dark haired male took a deep breath, holding it for a moment before allowing it to evacuate his lungs. the room around him was a disaster. paw patrol played on the television while taron enjoyed the calmness of the apartment from his spot on the sofa that was littered with toys. relaxing into the couch, he took another hit of the rig. though, his moment of bliss seemed to come crashing down around him as a knock rapped against his front door. “fuck.” taron practically winced at the sound, jumping to his feet as he waved the smoke around him away. “one minute!” kadarzi went to work, hiding his rig and wax out of plain sight before falling back against the sofa, trying to look comfortable and relaxed. “come in.” when the door finally creaked open, a smile graced taron’s features as he recognized the familiar face. “quiet, though. i just got karis to bed.”

the orchestra payed well but damn it if wasn’t boring when the piece called for a majority of the brass section. he lingered just long enough to catch his eye before letting the second chair take over. making his way back to the abbey, he stopped by on a floor below his. case still strapped to his back ace knocked quickly twice on the door, sighing at the come in. ❛ you know that you should actually lock your door. ❜ he muttered as he pushed into the messy apartment. he blinked twice at the smell lingering in the air, but shook his head - choosing not to comment on it. ❛ oh is she asleep already? i thought i’d make it back in time to say goodnight. what’d you guys eat? ❜ he asked, closing the door behind him and placing the case down.

hello sweet sunflowers, my life is a mess™ but that’s okay because that’s not anything new. i love drake and bruce banner uh, but who asked? certainly not y’all. let’s get into my more about my son.

so this here is james ‘ace’ simmons. he’s 22, he went to school for music and the main portion of his subplot is that he is recently divorced so *cardi b vc* 👅 💦 💦 💦 

ace is obviously a nickname and it went with his sister’s nickname tarro because he’s a people pleaser and she was stubborn as all hell, so she’d go first to throw a fit and he’d backtrack and smooth things over to seal the deal. and they’re actually twins but that’s not as important. his family moved around a lot as his parents were both in the air force. he’s never really had a single place that he called home as they were constantly moving

he’s loved music since he was a kid. he started off playing the guitar and then spent his time taking lessons for piano, the sax, the violin and the cello. 

why did he end up in canada? i honestly can’t say.

but he teaches piano from his apartment to kids and works for the philharmonic, but mostly records backing instrumentals for a major studio in the city. 

he used to be in a band but they don’t do much anymore since his sister’s focused on building a family with her gf

idk if this rp has like. assigned rooms, but i can assure you that he would choose like a corner apartment so that the most he has is like one neighbour to the side and one across the hall. and he’d be courteous enough to have his piano pressed against the wall without anyone on the other side. so hmu for neighbours? idk

if he’s not working on music or at work you can catch him in his apartment. i’d imagine he’s like... that guy who leaves his door open and constantly just has people ( other tenants or like his friends who don’t live there??? ) kind of drifting in an out because he lowkey doesn’t like being alone so he constantly keeps company around.

i have him being fairly new in the building??? like a week or so??? but he needs plots for anything. past hook ups, friends, sworn enemies, one time he jacked your coffee order at tim hortons and you’ve never forgiven him? know where he lives? leave flaming shit on his doorstep??? ANYTHING, hmu with plots

okay thank u for reading. i am at work but like this or hmu for plots and i will get to you < employee vc > at my earliest convenience which really just means when these jackasses get off the phone.
