Fever, an edit of the first group in the South African apartheid-era with a black and white man together, Juluka. They tested the apartheid-era laws, touring and performing in private venues, universities, churches, hostels, and even private homes in order to attract an audience, as national broadcasters would not play their music, it was “impossible” to perform in public in South Africa, hence extensive touring the world instead. After years as a touring bass player, he recommitted himself to electronic music, trading his pickups for a circuit board in search of the boundaries of sound.Since childhood Cabezas has thrown himself into the in-between. With a life of hybrid timezones, cultures and identities, his approach to music is similarly liminal. Driven by discovery and experimentation, Cabezas hybridizes genres, themes and instrumenta- tion to create electronic music that lives on the edge, built for the mains, headphones and everywhere in.
