Bonfyre Trail Fest. I didn't finish. I didn't even start. Volunteering for registration and the finish line gave me a whole new perspective on race events. It was great to see many friends, acquaintances, and #A2TriClub teammates participating and handing them their finisher mugs. Plus the beer didn't disappoint. 5 stars. Thursday was the last Ann Arbor middle school cross country meet of the season. Our Forsythe boys crushed it again! Our lead girl rolled her ankle in the first half mile. Poor thing! Other girls stepped up. Our blind and special needs runners got it done! 💪 What a great time it has been seeing these kids grow and have fun. The Forsythe Fun Night was a hit! I helped with set up before, gym monitor during, and clean up after. The turnout was great! Out of 580 school population, about 70% showed up. The cafeteria had food and a dance floor. The gym provided free-for-all time. There was a gross out room with things you could put your hands on for sensory ick. Last week I started a new chapter in life. Something I've had in mind for 20+ years. I always envisioned it involving my kids, but this is indirect. A week before middle school started for our 7th grade daughter, she had an orientation for getting her schedule and accessing her locker. One of the side tables had multiple sign-up sheets for parents to volunteer in sports. I put my name and contact info down alomg with XC/track next to it. I figured they'd contact me if it was meant to be. Fast forward a few weeks, and I just finished my second week as assistant cross country coach at Forsythe. We started with 79 kids 6th-8th grade; both girls and boys. The school PE teacher is the head coach. She definitely needed the help!
