One of my all time favorite Kate Bishop moments is when she stands up to Steve and says to his face that he and the other Avengers screwed up and that if they just helped out the Young Avengers, like they asked in the first place, then Teddy’s parents would still be alive and Billy’s home wouldn’t be destroyed.
She wasn’t even a superhero for a full year at that point (I think) and was probably only about 16-17 years old but was willing to stand up to Captain America. She wasn’t even officially Hawkeye yet.
And the fact that this was when she became Hawkeye. That it’s not about the bow and arrow and penchant for purple. Not really (though it doesn’t hurt). But that being Hawkeye means being willing to stand up for what’s right even when you’re the person with the least power in the room and it puts you in the opposite side of people who you respect and even care about. Having the least but being willing to do the most with what you do have, no matter the cost.
Or being stubborn and willing to pick fights that you know you’ll probably lose, as the Hawkeyes would probably put it.
I do think we get glimpses of this attitude in mcu Kate, like when she arrests her mom or tells the literal Black Widow assassin in her kitchen that she’s wrong. I just hope that they’re willing to expound on that in any project that Kate’s in in the future

I need a new hawkeye run so fucking bad it's not even funny. Bring back Clint and Kate, put them in a run together, and then they should each get their own run. Give them all the runs actually, the more the better

Y/N is in her apartment getting ready for a gig. She is the lead guitarist of a rock band with people who she has known ever since she was in high school . They are playing at the biggest and most popular bar in Philadelphia. Y/N got a text from Asher saying he was outside waiting for her. She grabbed her guitar that is in the case and her keys. She walked out of her apartment, locked the door, and made her way outside. She saw Asher standing behind his van with the trunk doors open.
“Hey Ms. Rocker.” Asher greeted her with a smile. “Hey Mr. Drummer.” Y/N greeted back handing him her guitar. “Where Ace and Ace?” Y/N asked in a curious tone. “They are just going to meet us at the bar since it’s fifteen minutes away from their house.” Asher told her putting her guitar inside and shutting the doors.
Asher got into the driver’s seat while Y/N got into the passenger seat. “I’m so excited for this gig.” Asher said with excitement as he put his seatbelt on. “Is it because this is the most popular bar in the city or is it because we might run into some players from the Eagles?” Y/N said putting her seatbelt on, too. Asher couldn’t help but smirk as he pulled out of the parking lot onto the road. The bar is a huge hot spot for players from any of the Philly sports teams and Asher is a big Eagles fan since his dad was a die-hard football fan. “Both.” Asher answered her, which made her roll her eyes because she knew he was lying. “Hey, maybe Cooper DeJean will show up.” Asher said with a smirk on his face yet again. “I called him hot one time.” Y/N told him in a grumpy tone as she crossed her arms over her chest.
“Are you okay? You seem more grumpy than usual.” Asher asked with a hint of concern in his voice. Asher has always felt like a brother to Y/N so he basically can read her like a book. “I’m just nervous that he’s going to show up.” Y/N said with worry as she looked out the window. By ‘him’ she means her ex-boyfriend who she broke up with a month ago. “Well, if he shows up, I’ll grab him, and Ace can cut his dick off.” Asher said quickly glancing at her and then back to the road. “No, that’s okay.” Y/N told him looking over at him. “Why not? It will be funny as hell.” Asher said. “It would be, but you know me.” Y/N started. “I’m no fucking damsel in distress.” Y/N told him. “I know. That’s why you’re my tough girl.” Asher told her with a smile.
Cooper just walked through the front door of his apartment when his phone started to vibrate in his pocket of his sweatpants. He let out a groan, he dropped his gym bag down onto the floor and took his phone out of his pocket. It was Reed calling him, so he answered the call and put the phone on speaker. “What’s up, Reed?” Cooper said as he closed his door. “Hey Coop! I just got a great idea.” He heard Reed say. “Okay, what’s the idea?” Cooper asked him as he made his way into his kitchen. “We should go to our favorite bar and have a couple drinks.” He heard Reed say. “I don’t know. I just got back from the gym and I’m a little sore from my workout.” Cooper said hanging his keys up on the hook. “Come on! We haven’t gone out in like forever.” He heard Reed say in a whiny like tone. “We went out last Friday night.” Cooper reminded him as he leaned his back against the kitchen island. “Oh, right.” He heard Reed said which made him playfully roll his eyes at his best friend.
“But I’m so bored and at home by myself.” He heard Reed tell him. Cooper forgot that Reed’s wife is out of town for the weekend. “Please Coop!” Reed said in a pleading tone which made Cooper let out a heavy sigh. “Ugh, fine.” Cooper said with a sigh. “Yes!” He heard Reed say with excitement. “Meet you in an hour.” Reed said and ended the call. Cooper let out a heavy sigh because he can’t ever say no to Reed. He dragged himself to his room to get some nice clothes and take a shower.
Y/N was standing at the bar getting some shot of tequila for her and her band mates. They are on in fifteen minutes, and they have a tradition that they always take a shot of tequila before they take the stage. “Here you go.” The bartender said, handing her a tray of four shots. “Thanks.” She said picking up the tray. When she turned around, she almost ran into someone. Her eyes went wide went she saw who she almost ran into. “Shit, sorry.” Cooper said to her. “It’s um okay.” Y/N said reassuring him. “Do you need help taking that to your table?” Cooper asked her in a polite tone. “Oh no. But um thanks for the offer.” Y/N told him. “No problem.” Cooper told her. An awkward silence fell between them. “I should probably go um nice talking to you.” Y/N said breaking the silence.
She quickly walked away to her table. She couldn’t help but feel so embarrassed. She just made a fool of herself. When she got to her table, she noticed her bandmates were trying to hold in their laughter. “Don’t say anything.” Y/N told them with annoyance as she put the tray down onto the table. “We weren’t going to say anything” Ally told her. “Yeah, okay.” Y/N said rolling her eyes. “It seems like you still think Cooper is hot because I have never seen you that nervous before.” Asher said, which made Ally and Ace laugh. “Shut up!” Y/N snapped. “Let’s just take the fucking shots so we can go backstage.” She added with frustration as she picked up one of the shot glasses.
Y/N’s band just finished their first set and will be back on stage in an hour. “Damn, they were great.” Reed said to Cooper. They were sitting at a table not too far from the stage. “Yeah, they were.” Cooper agreed and took a sip from his beer bottle. “Oh, stop acting all nonchalant.” Reed told him. “What?” Cooper asked him in a confused tone. “Dude you were totally checking out the girl who playing the guitar.” Reed told him. Cooper just shrugged. “You should go talk to her.” Reed told him but Cooper shook his head. “I’m not here to pick up on girls.” Cooper said taking another sip of his beer. “So.” Reed started. “I’m tired of you being a third wheel to everyone.” Reed told him. “I’ll think about it.” Cooper said with a sigh. He looked over and saw Y/N sit down at her table with her bandmates.
Y/N was sitting at the table by herself scrolling through her phone when Asher came up to her. “I’ll be right back.” Asher told her. “Where are you going?” Y/N asked him looking up from her phone. “I just met this smoking hot bleach blonde and we’re going to have a quickie in the bathroom.” Asher told her. “Be careful. Ally and Ace are also having a quickie in there.” Y/N told him. “Oh, fuck I forgot.” Asher hissed. “Wait, we can do it in the back of my van.” Asher said and quickly walked away. Y/N rolled her eyes and went back to her phone.
A couple of minutes passed, and she heard a voice say something. When she looked up, she was shocked to see Cooper standing there. “Hi.” Y/N said locked her phone and put it in her pocket of her jeans. “Where are your friends?” Cooper asked her. “You don’t want to know.” Y/N said with a sigh. Cooper did connect the dots, but he didn’t ask any further questions. “I didn’t catch your name before.” Cooper said. “I’m Y/N.” She said introducing herself. “Can I sit with you, Y/N?” Cooper asked with a smile. “Sure.” Y/N said with a nod smiling back at him.
Y/N was telling Cooper about her band and how long she’s been playing the guitar. The conversation was going great till she saw the face she was wishing wasn’t going to show up. “Shit!” Y/N said with a hiss. “What’s wrong?” Cooper asked with concern. “My ex-boyfriend just showed up.” Y/N said with a heavy sigh. Before Cooper could say anything, a different male voice beat him to it. “Y/N, can we talk?” Justin asked her. Y/N knew he wasn’t going to leave her alone until she said yes so, she let out a sigh as she stood up. “I’ll be right back.” She told Cooper.
She walked to the back of the bar with Justin following behind her. “You have fucking ten minutes, Justin so you better start talking.” Y/N told him in a snapping tone. “Oh, I’m sorry. Was I interrupting your date with that football player.” Justin said, matching her tone which quickly pissed her off. “We aren’t on a date! We were just having a conversation!” Y/N told him in a stern tone. “I see it didn’t take you long to fucking move on from our two-year relationship.” Justin hissed ignoring what she said. “Oh, don’t even fucking go there!” Y/N said with anger in her tone. “You were seeing ten fucking girls throughout our whole relationship.” Y/N told him glaring at him. “I said I was sorry like a hundred times!” Justin told her which made her roll her eyes. She thinks it’s disgusting how he thinks he can just say sorry and everything will be fine.
“You are unbelievable!” Y/N hissed. She turned to walk away but Justin grabbed her wrist. “Let go of my wrist.” Y/N told him in a demanding tone. “I’m not done talking to you.” Justin told her in a stern tone. “If you don’t let me go, I’ll- “Y/N started but he cut her off. “You’re not going to do anything.” Justin told her with a harsh laugh. Instead of answering with her mouth Y/N punched Justin Square in his jaw making him let her go. Justin was in shock as he held his jaw. “I want you to get the fuck out of this bar and the fuck out of my life.” Y/N told him in a demanding tone. Justin listened and made his way out of the crowded bar.
Y/N sighed as she turned. She was taken by surprise when she saw Cooper standing there wide-eyed. “Shit! You saw and heard all of all of that.” Y/N said with a sigh of frustration. “Only the last part.” Cooper told her. “Oh.” Y/N said feeling embarrassed. “When I saw him grab your wrist I got up, but I stop myself after I saw you handled it yourself.” Cooper explained to her. “Oh yeah well my father taught me to always defend myself.” Y/N told him.
“Ugh, you think I’m a crazy bitch.” Y/N said with a groan as she ran a hand through her hair. “I don’t think that at all.” Cooper said, taking her by surprise. “You don’t?” Y/N said in a surprised tone. “I think it’s great that you know how to defend and protect yourself.” Cooper told her. “I also thought was hot when you punched that asshole in the jaw.” Cooper added as his lips turned up into a smirk. Y/N felt her heart skip a beat when he said that she is hot. Now he called her hot.
“Listen I almost have to take the stage again but when I’m done do you want to exchange numbers?” Y/N asked him in a curious tone. “Sounds good to me.” Cooper said with a smile. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked back to his table where Reed was most likely eavesdropping. Y/N couldn’t help but smile as she walked back to her table.
What Made Mihawk the Marine Hunter? An Untold Theory
Word Count: 1024
What do we really know about Dracule Mihawk?
That he’s the strongest swordsman in the world.
That he has a bounty of 3,590,000,000 Berries.
That he stands at 198 cm (6'6").
That his birthday is on March 9th.
That he once lived on Kuraigana Island, and is currently part of the Cross Guild.
These are all interesting and well-known facts. But what about the real questions?
Where does he actually come from?
Which island was he born on?
Where did he spend his childhood?
Why is he called the Marine Hunter?
Why is he so distant, so serious, and why does he rarely smile—except when the situation demands it?
The truth is, Mihawk is a solitary character who clearly has trouble trusting others. But why is that?
Let’s try to dig into just one of these questions.
The Marine Hunter
Chapter 1058
In Chapter 1058, the name Marine Hunter is mentioned for the first time—not by Mihawk himself, but by Sir Crocodile, who casually reveals that Mihawk was once known by that title.
The full details of Mihawk’s rise as a pirate and swordsman remain a mystery, but we do know he became famous even before the start of the Great Pirate Era. He clearly holds a grudge against the Marines, which seems to be the reason he was given this name.
But why? What exactly happened?
We know pirates and Marines aren’t exactly on friendly terms, but earning the title Marine Hunter goes beyond that. It implies something more specific. More personal. Oda-sensei even confirmed this in SBS Chapter 1094, when a fan asked if there was a connection between Mihawk’s Marine Hunter title and his later position as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
The answer was yes.
The Betrayal
SBS Chapter 1094
This confirmation opens more questions than it answers—but that’s understandable. Mihawk has been a key figure in the story since the very beginning, and his backstory is still tightly guarded. One thing Oda-sensei has said is that Mihawk suffered a great betrayal. Let’s focus on that point for a moment.
What kind of betrayal could have pushed Mihawk to gain such a bloody reputation and such a high bounty? (Keep in mind—he’s not a Yonko. And as a solo pirate, his bounty is the highest of any living pirate who doesn’t lead a crew or an empire.)
One theory is that Mihawk may have tried to help someone—someone he trusted. And that person may have betrayed him by selling him out to the Navy. This would explain his grudge against the Marines. It would explain why he hunted them. Why he earned the name Marine Hunter. But when you consider the SBS from Chapter 909 and analyze it further, you might come to a very different conclusion.
Marriage?
SBS Chapter 909
This SBS includes some hilarious sketches of Mihawk, Crocodile, and Doflamingo kids (Also Mihawk being a girl dad fits so well). But hidden beneath the humor is something that stood out—something that raised more questions than answers.
According to the translation (and I’ve checked several versions to confirm this), Oda implies that one of the three had been married. Doflamingo seems unlikely. He killed his father and his brother and has never shown an interest in forming a traditional family. His crew is his family. That leaves us with Crocodile and Mihawk.
While both show signs of deep-rooted trust issues and could fit this narrative, I want to focus on Mihawk. (I have several reasons why I don’t think it’s Crocodile, but that’s an entirely different discussion—and yes, it involves the Ivankov theory rabbit hole.)
In another SBS, Oda-sensei wrote that Mihawk was tired of life and simply wanted peace. That line really stayed with me.His calm, distant, yet consistently polite demeanor feels like it’s hiding something. Like there’s a message buried beneath it.
So what if Mihawk was the one who had been married? And what if that marriage ended in tragedy—perhaps at the hands of the Marines? That would explain a lot.
It could explain why he became the feared Marine Hunter. Why he cut himself off from others. Why he avoids attachments and keeps people at a distance.
Even though Mihawk usually appears composed and in control, we haven’t seen the full extent of what he’s capable of. But there are hints—moments where it feels like his calm is holding something back. His cold precision, his solitary life, the mystery of his past—it all points to a man with buried pain, and possibly, a thirst for vengeance.
It starts to make sense when you think about it.
Mihawk always appears calm and composed. He speaks with purpose. Moves with clarity. And yet, we’ve never seen the full extent of his power. But we’ve seen glimpses. Enough to know he can become something terrifying when pushed. His cold precision. His isolation. His mysterious past. All of it points toward a man with something buried deep—something heavy. Something that’s never been fully addressed.
Maybe it’s pain. Maybe it’s grief. It’s the kind of silence that follows a loss you never fully recovered from. He avoids attachment. He keeps people at a distance.
Yes, his power is overwhelming. But there’s always a weight in the air when Mihawk enters a scene. Like he’s not just watching the world— He’s walking through it half a step behind.
Not detached.
Just… done.
Of course, all of this is just speculation on my part—based on manga panels, SBS clues, and the tone Oda-sensei has built around Mihawk over the years. So please take it with a grain of salt. But keep in mind, Oda-sensei’s most powerful characters are often the ones carrying the deepest wounds.
Maybe Mihawk isn’t just a swordsman. Maybe he’s someone who once had something to lose—and lost it. And maybe, after that, he made sure no one would ever get close enough to take anything from him again.
Maybe the name Marine Hunter wasn’t born from ambition. Maybe it was born from grief.
After all, hasn’t Oda-sensei given us some of the most tragically beautiful love stories in this series, time and time again?
