Then Gustave opens his eyes to the sound of a cane striking stone at the edge of the Continent. He dies again, he opens his eyes again. Again, again, and again, until he gets it right. I made a solo-play bookmark ttrpg for the TTRPG Bookmark Jam 2025 - the game is free if you wanna snag a copy! Rules-lite, all you need to do is read your book to figure out how to bring your friend back to your world alive.

I'm redoing the pixel art for the Overclocked! gang because the original chibi style was feeling too cutesy. Didn't feel quite right for a treasure hunt-turned-revenge quest strategy rpg. This style is more inspired by the old Suikoden games and I love being able to see the variation in everyone's body shape now!

Made a little painting of my little cow cat, the eponymous Matthew McConaughey! She did not care about it nearly as much as I did.

Nova has a full walking sprite now! Look at her go! And, yes, her jacket's collar fluff bounces as she walks. :]c

Next up: Tex or Peaches? Nerd-cowboy bot or lesbian farmer bot?

It took me a long time to nail down what kind of design I wanted for the back of her helmet, but once I got it, it was easier to keep rolling through. I might change her leather jacket to black to keep with the black/white + blue + yellow theme that I'm gunning for with her in Overclocked!, but the brown was how I originally envisioned her casual wear in Destiny, so. We'll see!

I'm having a LOT of fun with pixel art though. It's slow-going because I'm still learning, but since it requires a meticulous and detail-oriented hand to make sure everything lines up and flows correctly, well... "meticulous and detailed-oriented" are the only kind of hands that I posses, lol.

Teaching myself pixel art for my game idea, so here's part of Nova's walking sprite! Her design might change a lot as I mess around - especially her helmet as I take her further and further from being my Destiny OC - but so far I'm having a lot of fun just messing around with the pixels. Finding hue-shifting to be especially fun!

Now that I'm moving Tex (frombrad2worse's Guardian) and Nova into a new original game idea, I gotta redesign them away from their Destiny digs. It's been nice drawing for the first time since... oh, December or January? Having free time for the first time in so long is nice but trying to come up with outfit designs that mesh cowboy + treasure hunter + sci-fi HARD. Fun. But hard.

Gonna try to do maybe 2-3 of these quick sketches per week until I land on good designs for the 6 characters in the main party.

Do you have a Destiny OC? I draw them all the time- I'm known for my Exo OCs! I want to see YOURS! Any race, species, be it casual "just a dude" or the 7th son of Oryx, I want to see them! Tell me about them!!! I want to draw them, I specialize in Exos but I REALLY want to learn more about the community on here. Be it big or small, please don't be shy!! I want to know sooo much. You can even submit a whooole block of text and only ingame screenshots if you're not the artistic type. Examples of my D2 OC art here:

I'd be happy to do an art trade some time if you want to! I'm a very slow artist because I'm very busy (I just started my Ph.D.!), but I love working on stuff slowly and taking my time to learn and improve. <3

My main OC is Nova-3 along with her chatterbox gossip of a Ghost, Wisteria! Here are a few pieces of her that I have done myself (more available on my artblog - @acidmouthed !) A few WIPs from her reference sheet and the most recent piece I've drawn of her (without lighting filter for clarity of viewing).

As you can see, she's a chunky Titan of a lady! Fat and proud, a transwoman who loves every inch of the exo body she designed for herself. She's been described by others as "laconic and cool," "she of little words and much heart," and "a one-woman tank." Wisteria is almost the exact opposite as a total chatterbox and she loves him fiercely. Usually a Thundercrash or Burning Maul main, lover of trace rifles, and big into making public gardens inside ruined buildings in the Last City. She's pretty different timeline/history-wise to the Young Wolf, rezzed on Europa years before Guardians started going there and mostly been pal-ing around with the Vanguard as just a Regular Ol', Everyday Garden-Variety Guardian (or so she thinks). I would get more into her story/history buuut I play her in our @destinylegendrpg streams on twitch using a homemade Destiny ttrpg system that my partner and I designed together, and much of that history becomes relevant to the story of our campaign, so... spoilers. >:)

I'm slowly working on a lorebook for her that follows her pre-Lightbearer life, back when she became one of the first exos by working for Bray Exoscience and the events that lead to her first death. I'll release it alongside a specific story arc that we plan to go through in the twitch stream!

My Warlock OC, Anita Nkansah (Human), is one of her former queerplatonic partners, along with one of my two Hunter OCs, Camilla (Awoken). Anita is clever and athletic but quick to hold a grudge, where Camilla is carefree and jovial, the glue that kept them together. The three of them have a very entangled-turned-embittered history together. My other Hunter OC is also an exo, nicknamed Four, a bartender and DJ who works at a nightclub in the Last City called Fortune's Fervor! She's a total party girl in personality, but something else lurks underneath... spoilers. 👀

Here is my piece for #SolarEmbraceVOL4 run by @d2artevents on tumblr & twitter! The complete piece is at the top, with 3 reduced pieces at the bottom for looking at details/shapes.

This piece, featuring my exo titan Nova-3 and @frombrad2worse 's Tex-19, is my first foray into colouring in... almost 10 years if you can believe that! I was incredibly slow, made a lot of mistakes, and would change a great many things if I did it again from scratch. More importantly, though? I learned so, so much while working on this and I'm very proud of myself for what I achieved after spending so long too intimidated by colouring to even try.
