xamassed:
The snake had coiled back, but the deep holes left in his leg continued to sting. He couldn’t see the marks through the dark material of his suit, no damp and sticky with blood, but he knew the wounds would prove troublesome if he didn’t finish this fight soon and find Chopper afterwards.
“I see,” sighed the cook, “you’re one of those assholes.”
Monologuing. Sanji had encountered enough ‘baddies’ during his time as a pirate that he should have been used to this, but it irked him without fail every single time. No amount of sighing and eyerolling would speed up the process, so he was forced to endure for as long as it took the man to voice his thoughts. Though, during his rant, Sanji had begun to pat himself down. He noticed too late that his cigarette had been lost, and he knew he would need another if he wanted to keep the remainder of his patience.
“Uh. . .” Pat. Pat. His pockets were empty, devoid of the pack he had brought with him. “Where the hell did they go? Tch, figures that you’d cost me a pack of cigarettes too. Hey, are you done talking yet? I’ve got——!”
The sudden scream of pain that tore from the innocent Cecil blindsided silenced Sanji and dampened the need to sass. The body was out of reach and lingered too close to where the deranged beast stood, meaning his chance to help was dashed. Once this was over, if he managed to survive, his goal would be to bring Chopper in and help the people caught up in his fight.
“Don’t like those strong, floral smells, huh? Is the mutt’s sensitive little nose bothering him?” He scoffed and started towards Cecil. He would have to keep in mind to avoid striking the nose — if he broke it, there was a chance he might be helping more than hindering.
This insignificant cook had the gall to ignore him? Ignore the truth he had discovered about this world? Well, it mattered not since all would go accordingly in the end. What could one measly man do besides prolong his own death? Though Cecil did have to admit that Sanji was stronger than he appeared to be and was being the biggest pain in the ass he ever had to deal with. How to make this fool loose his focus instead? How to create an opening to finally put him in his place? It was then a sinister revelation came to mind. Love may be a useless emotion to possess but it had it’s use in being used against someone. There was perhaps a fact he was unaware of and would likely set him off, ruin his ability to think straight.. Though Cecil had no idea that this plan might work against him.
The sooner he snuffed out Sanji the better, he didn’t need word getting out about his aversion to strong scents. He would be the laughing stock of pirates if word got out about that! “I have no idea what you mean.. My nose is just fine.” A bad lie but it was more for those around him, not the cook himself. The toothy grin returned as he watched the blond start to approach him, now was the time to see if he could throw off whatever plan was in that head of his. “My bank you claim to love so much.. I plan to add more scars once I get her back. Nice little reminders of her place. I’m sure you’ve seen the ones she earned already.. Though I admit some are from my experiments.” He took a heavy step forward, cracking the stone ground beneath his paw. “The metal the Navy produces from Sea Prism Stone is quite useful in.. Logia Discipline~. Once you sharpen the metal that is!” After speaking those last words, he made his tails lunge at Sanji once more; aiming to bite into him.
