So I sent a letter to a friend the other day both to practice my gaeilge and also to catch him up on my life and I didn’t think much of it as I sent it off
but upon reflection, I have just sent this poor man two pages front and back of hand written bad news. Just wall to wall horrible medical news, personal tragedy, all written in matter-of-fact four-year learner Irish.
Just a keepsake. A proof of my insanity
i just woke up to a big black spider crawling up my leg. i freaked out ofc, jumped up, shook out my bedsheet, etc. and he hid away somewhere
so now i can either take over my mother's room, where moths are inevitable (fuck i hate moths), go downstairs and hang out with mum herself, or return to a bed that may or may not contain big scary spider(s)
i Do Not Like these options
“With love’s light wings did I o’er-perch these walls; For stony limits cannot hold love out.”
I posted about this wip earlier today but it’s seriously taken over 75% my brain space, so I thought I’d formally introduce it so my ramblings will make semi-sense. to give an elevator pitch, it’s basically: two young faeries disguise themselves as mortals and hide out in the human lands (a backwater town in Indiana) in order to hide from a monster mind-controlling their friend. It’s got classic fae lore, a faerie-hunter-turned-father-figure, and the main couple are a magical version of Jacin and Winter from The Lunar Chronicles (childhood friends-to-lovers/knight and princess). I’m already so obsessed that I’ve got the whole prologue finished for their novel and its outline is almost fully written out. so anyway here’s a redraw of that famous painting of Romeo and Juliet but with my main characters, Paloma Cindora and Tristan Serenith.
