He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. —Psalm 107:29 ⠀ In the same way it is impossible to prevent nature’s storms from brewing into the atmosphere, we cannot prevent life’s storms. Even beyond that, there is no way of truly knowing the storm’s impact until it hits. You can try to guess, look for signs, and even try to compare this storm to previous ones, but until the storm clouds are swelling above the roof and the rain begins to pour, you never know how it will affect you. ⠀ As followers of Christ, we have to remember these storms are no reason to fear. God is well aware of these storms, and not a single one has slipped off of His radar. ⠀ You might find yourself wondering, “Does God really care about the loneliness I’m dealing with? Does God actually see how much I’m struggling at work right now? Can God seriously help me with the stress in my family? ⠀ The answer is yes! Though the storm affects you from every angle, God is not surprised or taken aback by it at all. He has the power to calm the storms with a single whisper. As long as the storm is brewing, pray and ask Him what it is He desires you to learn from it.
