"How DARE she even think she can get away with insulting my honor?! And to demand apologies for it, what a cur!"
"I'd be lying if I didn't mention how cute she was, though,"
Mirror mirror on the wall, How can I escape this hall? Trapped here in a land so odd, Full of fables turned fractured and flawed. I’ve been told the way out, but do I dare? Is there no other way than to give into despair?
Once Upon a Trial 2 is a submission-based roleplay, based off of Dangan Ronpa. The game will have two classes, Glass and Obsidian, currently planned to have 20 students each. Five of the 40 total students will be mod characters, meaning that in total we intend to accept 35 apps. If we receive a larger number of apps than expected, class size may increase. There is also a chance of class size being reduced if we do not receive enough apps. The application for OUT2 can be found here. Applications are OPEN, and we will be accepting apps until Sunday, October 26th, at 12am EST.

It hurt. It hurt, a hole in his heart as he was going to say good bye to the only person who deserved to live, the only one who needed to leave this hell hole and live. Koziumi’s words, they were bullets, shattering through his frail insides. She…she wanted to stay with him even if it meant being dying here. How could he have been so foolish? How could of his own delusions obscure what he had wanted. All he ever needed was her comfort, but even he, he failed to even see what meant the most to him. His disillusions, blinding him.
"Koizumi…I’m truly a fool. I thought I would not get caught, but…it seems you and the others saw through my farce. I didn’t know what to expect when we were thrown into this game. I only thought of myself, I only thought of leaving, just to…just to see if…No. It’s not that. I was to selfish. I exceeded my gamble on this trial, but all the loop holes and loose ended arguments I made..It was only a matter of time."
He could feel she was in pain, though her voice bore no real emotional outbreak it was the firm grip she had on him. Her face lie on his chest, crying out to him, in agony. Her words, the same, but it ushered in more meaning than he had expected the others to comprehend. Only he, could see behind her words. The message they bore was all to loving, even a hint of despair were coursed in her words.
"Koizumi….I..wish we didn’t have to say good bye to each other like this. I wish we could say hello again. But, in here even I can break the hearts of my…I’m sorry. I don’t want it to be a hallow good bye. I want you to live on….I want you to beat this even without me here. I was just foolish enough to fall for this. But you, you’re smarter than you know. Even right now..these words of yours…this sonnet. It’s all to caring."
His arms wrapped around her, tighter, conviction ran through his veins. His hold on her told her the meaning behind his words. He didn’t want to die cold, disheartened. Right now the duo were in their own world. But one was going to plummet. Plummet into the depths of hell where…where he belonged.
"An angel like yourself shouldn’t see how I go."
It was amazing that Koizumi was even this close to Yosuke physically. She could feel the strain of each breath, the rapid course of his heart, she was the only one in the world who knew how he trembled in fear. If it were at all possible, Koizumi knew she could feel the physical tear of her heart ripping in two.

"Yos-chan, I'm...gonna watch,"
"I'm sorry but...I have to. If you're going to leave me, then at least let me never forget you. Even...though it'll probably be sad, it'll remind me. Everytime I close my eyes I'll see you there and remember what you went through for me and how I need to live my life for both of us,"
"I can't risk loosing you twice, Yos-chan, you're too important to me,"
Besides, the pain would be good for her. The pain would remind her ť͇̖̺̔̓ͣ̓̇̀h̭̥͊̇̈́͑̚a̶̝t̯̳̩̪ͯ̑̑͐̅ͪ ͈͇̳̲ͩ͌ͣͤ̊̑̑s̉̐͊̽̍h҉̬͇ͅe̶̗̹͉̰͛̀̂̀ͮͯ̍ ̷̜̤̟́w̟̞̫̜̲̑̐͘ą͔̳̖̞̹͓s̨͖͙̹̞͔̊n̼͇͎͚̏͛ͧ't͇̹̤̘͙ͦ ̺͎̻̤̊̂̍͠a̹͔̓̄̊ ̸͍͎͆̓ͫ̾̏̓m̳̠̦̤ͤo̡̞̙̟̰̥͋̄n͛̿̍̏̊̑s̖̣̰t͚̲̯͙̳ͯ̿ͅe̥͍̣̫̖͎ͪ̈͌̐͂r͈̤͘

They were all right. The evidence was true, he had thought he had devised the perfect plan. A plan to get out of this mutual murder fest, but his tracks were sloppily covered. The broken pocket watch at the scene, down to the person who he had convicted, planted to be the innocent sheep who’d take his place if he were to succeed. If only..if only he had burnt that paper piece, the thing that assured his conviction. Koizumi…was disappointed. He had succumbed to the bears game. and here he thought he could outsmart them. She had every right to feel distraught by his decision, but in his mind he was in the right.
"I’m sorry. I thought, I could get out of here, contact someone a certain division of the police force to get the rest of you out. I..really wanted to get you out, but….it seems I failed doesn’t it…Koizumi."
Her embrace was warm, comforting to the point where it felt better to be suffocate in his friend’s embrace. How could he fail? He failed at even trying to save his friends life. And the following weeks would bare the same result, another trial, another face gone. He didn’t want to see her die. His chest..it felt as if he was already impaled by monobear. His inevitable demise, would only be a reminder of his definite failure. His voice it faltered when he spoke to the other. His words no longer held the cold distant tone he had spoken with to the other students. His voice..forlorn to the world.
"I’m a failure as a human being. I failed at even trying to protect those who deserve to leave. I broke our promise just..just so I can try to get you out of here. Please, I don’t know if I can tell you to understand, but try to."
Koizumi shook her head against the comfort of Yosuke's chest, still holding him tenderly. All of his words meant nothing to her, they failed to stir anything up in her, as all words did. Or, rather, if he were trying to dissuade her from what she could have possibly been feeling, then it was all for naught. And, in all truth, whatever complex thoughts were running through Koizumi's head, they were not the ones Yosuke expected.
"I don't care,"
"Why don't you get it? I don't care if I'd get to leave, I'd rather spend my whole life here if it meant I could stay here with you."
Koizumi took in a slow breath. She was so selfish. Here, Yosuke was about to be executed and she was only caring about herself. She was putting Yosuke down for caring for her, something she envied in him. Just because she couldn't understand how his actions would lead to him acting on them, it didn't mean he deserved any of this.
All she wanted was to care, and Yosuke was being executed for having a surplus of love. Was this why she spoke up against Yosuke? Because while she had the emotional capability of a doorstop he was literally dying because he had so much emotional capability.
This wasn't right. If anything, she was probably upsetting Yosuke more. If this was going to be the last moments of his life, she wanted him to enjoy them, to felt like his emotions were reciprocated, to show his work had not been completely in vain. She eased up on her grip on him.
"..."
"Sometimes I wanted to cry, when the people on tv were not quite the way we were."
"Somehow I guess I just knew,"
She sang quietly, getting as close to his ear as her short stature would allow.
"But I didn't know I'd love you so much...
I didn't know I'd love you so much...
I didn't know I'd love you so much,
But I do..."
SAD HEDCANNON FOR YOSUMI FRIENDSHIP.
Despair AU where Yosuke is chosen as a murderer. Koizumi sings to him to calm him down before the inevitable.
"Death..Ohhh. I didn’t know it was coming close. Hehehe…I guess you guys got it right. Hahahahaha! Koizumi-san…I’m…sorry."
Koizumi hadn't known exactly how to take this news. She knew as soon as the votes began to pile in, as soon as the evidence began to appear, that it was easily falsified. Yosuke was her friend, and she knew that although creepy, he was no murderer, not in any sense of the word.
But to hear him respond to them to verify what the vote was already telling them to be true, the world crumbled.
No...
But once more, her expression never faltered. Though she bit at her lower lip, she looked exactly as calm as she always had, like her best friend had not just been sent to the slaughter. And matching her calm demeanor, she casually strolled to Yosuke and leaned her head into his chest, just as she had done a thousand times before. It was always comfortable in Yosuke's embrace.
"You...promised you wouldn't. Why would you lie?"
Her tone betrayed nothing. Emotionless, cold, as she always was. She gave him an extra squeeze.
"...How do I ask you to stay without making it sound selfish? How do I tell you how bad I need you without being self-centered?"
At the moment I don’t have any characters that are gay guys so I substituted Teddi. I figured Spence wouldn’t mind.
"You could say that I suppose, doing something admirable is something I aspire to do. However, doing so does have its low points. Sometimes it gets dull and monotonous and I question why I still do it. But lets not dwell on that issue for the time being."
Sitting back down on the couch he propped his feet on the table.
"Well, you could say I’m quite enjoying this conversation, it’s nice I suppose. Would you like to dive into something else for the time being, since it is nearing noon."
The day seemed to accelerate with each comfortable conversation he had, a pity really. Not enough time to enjoy what was right in front, curse the day treacherous cycle.
What Yosuke was saying seemed to make sense. She had heard a lot about people doing what they love but questioned their use in it and their involvement, and in many ways Koizumi yearned for that. A sense of knowing that her concern should lie elsewhere, in many respects, though she knew that Yosuke was hardly different from her aside from where his focus laid. Oh well, he didn't want to talk about that, that's cool.
"Yos-chan, you're the living embodiment of OCD. As soon as you get into something, you wanna change the subject,"
"Wow, that sounded mean."
Did it? It's hard to tell when you speak in dead monotone the whole f***ing time.
"Sorry about that. I don't have a problem with it, it's just an observation or whatever. Forget I said anything."
"What'd you have in mind?"
"Ehh. You’ve proven yourself more than decent in the English language. I’m getting quite tiresome of the game. You mind if we just chat. I can’t do both, otherwise I’ll get pretty worn out."
Taking the bored, he put all the pieces back in the box along with the board. Man, though he won the coin toss he wasn’t feeling it today.
"So that’s why you sing. I see. Though it’s not the best motivation you might as well try and power through I suppose. For me I adore the mechanics behind hypnotism, it’s quite interesting if I do say so myself.
Yeah, she wasn't exactly surprised that Yosuke was already done playing. She would have been more disappointed had she been having a great time in the first place. She really needed to get him into some Mortal Kombat.
Koizumi bobbed her head to his request to chat, and aligned her back to the couch, pulling her snacks in close, and leaning on Yosuke's shoulder.
"That's the plan, Stan,"
She popped a chip in her mouth before chewing it thoughtfully.
"That was a joke, I know your name Yosuke."
Yeah Koizumi you had this joke business down to a science. She listened to his explanation of the mechanics of hypnotism, throwing in a muffled "hmm" to signify she was listening. She took a swig of her root beer.
"Then don't ever stop, no matter what. You're lucky Yos-chan, you have talent and passion, or maybe so much passion that you make up for the talent, I dunno. But the point is you got to keep doing it, even if it doesn't work out, you know?"
"You were probably already going to do that, though."

13. Pretend relationship
"-So, in summary, I have to go to this party, but everyone else has dates, and I can’t go alone is what Jihyun said, so I need a date, so will you go with me? Just for tonight! It’ll be fun, there’ll be music and stuff! And food. Yeah!"
"..."
"Is the food free? If it's free, I'll go."
"..."
"Or if there's video games. Yeah, I'd go for video games too."
"Thank you. My English is somewhat manageable. Though I can hardly say that it’s viable for communicating with non Japanese citizens for sessions. But I’m still learning, taking the occasional courses of English Language here."
Taking in another yawn he continued to speak.
"Parent’s can be quite troublesome when they push you to do such tasks. If you don’t like singing, what do you prefer to do then? I’m am fond of hypnotism that learning English can only help widen my clientele. So yeah…"
Seems he forgot to put down a word. What a nerd, gotten to caught up in a conversation to notice he hadn’t played a word. Such a weenie you are Yosuke.
Wow, was this even the same guy who had threatened to hypnotize her into streaking across campus? Not only had they become on the level of not sacrificing each other to a pagan god, they really were friends. It had been a while since she called anyone her friend, and she was glad Yosuke was the one who held that honor.
"Or in cases of Scrabble to the death. Speaking of which, it's your turn in case you bow to my superior gaming skills."
Wow, she had actually expected him to take sides with her mom for some reason, but it was nice knowing that he sided with her on this matter.
"..."
"I like video games,"
"That's why I keep singing, cause I'm not good at anything else. Sometimes you gotta power through, you know?"
"Or...do you like what you do Yos-chan?"
Lets see, L.T.A.S., grabbing three more letters from the bag, E.A.C.
"Well that’s good. Seems my grasp on the English language is getting a bit rusty. Meat, across. Not a big fan of meat if I do say so myself."
"I don’t know about no big deal Koizumi, practice makes perfect as they say. But I’m no singer, so I can’t grasp vocal ranges as well."
Standing momentarily to stretch Yosuke gave out a slight yawn. Confused at what had happened, he was quite surprise at the realization of it. He was never the one to get bored playing a rousing game of American Scrabble.
"You're doing pretty good, considering. I don't really know English. I can sing operas in English, but only because I memorized the sounds,"
She grabbed a couple more letter. L-P-O. Hmm...She had to know something about how N-Z-C-L-P-O could work together. English was a required subject, so of course she had to know something about how this could work. Oh, yeah that works, she plays C-L-N on M-E-A-T to make Clan.
"You sound like my mom."
"But that's not what I meant. It's just...boring. I don't like doing it."
"So I have a reason for knowing minimal English. What's yours? Is it for your hypnosis stuff?"
She took a swig of her rootbeer and got comfy leaning against the couch while waiting on his turn.
"Hey so it’s not awkwardly silent, how’s your whatever going?"
"Seems I won the coin toss. Lucky day indeed. Oh…hypnotism, recruitment for specimens, not the best outcome, but it’s to be expected. Not many people are interested in being in a room with me. Hmm, go figures, bunch of uncultured….never mind."
Grabbing the bag of letters he grabbed his set letters. D.L.T.D.S.E.A. Not the best hand, but it’ll do. Placing the letter a in the middle of the board he was ready to play.
"Ahh, how’s your thing going by the way. Dead.. There’s my word up and down. But considering my hand…Heh. Better get your words on Koizumi-san."
Edging back from his seat he awaited the other to play her word. Let’s see what she has up her sleeve. Tapping his finger on his seat he awaited her move.
Koizumi drew up her hand, resulting in a mix of N-Z-I-M-C-R. Man, and Yosuke thought he got the bad hand this draw.
"..."
"That's kind of funny,"
What she was referring to was the fact that people didn't feel comfortable being in a room alone with Yosuke. Here she was alone in the student rec room and they were playing Scrabble. But it also helped Koizumi wasn't able to really feel uncomfortable.
"My thing? What thing do I have?"
"You mean my singing? Cause I practice that every day. It's kind of the norm, no big deal."
How was she supposed to get rid of that z? She wasn't sure. She decided to play it safe and put down R-I-M. One may wonder why they were playing an English game.
"Physical action, no thank you. I’m pretty bad at arm wrestling anyone. Give me a second, lemme shuffle through my pockets.. There ought to be something in here."
Shifting through his pockets Yosuke pulled out an American quarter. Why in the world does he have one? Did he go on a trip to America? Whatever lets go on with the coin toss!
"Heads or tails strawberry? Actually, I’m going to go heads. I’m feeling pretty lucky today. Anyways you have tails got it, don’t forget.."
Flipping the coin into the air. It seemed like several minutes had passed by watching it slowly descend back to the floor. Who knows what side it landed on?!
"..."
Was this nerd still calling her strawberry when he clearly knew her name? Well frick you and frick your lucky feelings, Yosuke, you're not the one in charge of the outcome of this coin flip!
...
But neither is Koizumi. The coin landed heads up. If he can be Yos-chan, she could be strawberry.
"I guess you were lucky,"
She took a swig of her rootbeer and got comfy leaning against the couch while waiting on his turn.
"Hey so it's not awkwardly silent, how's your whatever going?"
"Nerd? But words are fun to play around with. To much video games can rot your mind you know. So, I’d much prefer to play a revilitizing game of scrabble. Learn a word here or two. Don’t you think?"
"Ahh, you found one in the rec lounge. Hrmmm. Lead the way Koizumi-san. Prepare yourself for a vernacular smack down."
Following Koizumi to the lounge, Yosuke was already prepping for some words to play on his first turn to bet at her!
"Vernacular smack down?"
"..."
"Well I bet you wish you didn't smack me down cause I'm just gonna play vernacular on the first turn,"
At the direction to lead the way, Koizumi grabbed Yosuke's hand and did just that. Wow, how had he started as a total hardbutt and now she had not just hugged him, but held his hand too. She was totally right about him being a softie.
As soon as she got to the student recreation lounge, she pulled a scrabble box onto a table before retreating to the kitchen for a bag of barbeque flavored chips and a root beer.
"So what are we arm wrestling for the first turn?"
