HOW TO JOIN MERCHANT NAVY AFTER 12TH IN INDIA
ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA: - 1.Candidates should have passed Class 12th in PCM (only) with English (50% marks in 10th or 12th) as a compulsory subject.
2. Candidate must have a valid passport
3. A student must be 18 years as on or before 01st August 2020 and the maximum age limit is 26 year.
4. No spectacles acceptable (no glasses)
5. Should be free of color blindness problem

3. Saloon side(kitchen dept.)
1. DECK SIDE:- a) 1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) preferable as a deck cadet

b) 3-Year BSC (Nautical Science) as a deck cadet
2.ENGINE SIDE :- 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
3.SALOON SIDE:- There are some colleges which conduct this type of course and candidate from hotel management field can join saloon side as chef.
· PROCEDURE FOR GIVING ENTRANCE EXAM :- CANDIDATES MUST FILL APPLICATION FORM FOR INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY CHENNAI (IMU CET) , CAN BE APPLIED BY USNIG THIS LINK www.imu.edu.in
ü Imu cet entrance exam conducted only 2 times in a year june and july.

). After getting rank in imu cet we have to apply for SPONSERSHIP in pvt. Ltd.companies. These companies are having their own institute or tie up colleges. After completing your course in your college you will be sent on ship(onboard).
