Taking a break!

I kind of teased this back in Valentine's Day, but I'm currently a little exhausted by life. Nothing truly bad has happened, there's no need to worry, but a lot is changing and I'm beginning to get burned out from everything I enjoy doing as I watch my free time dwindle, and struggle to divide it properly.

I have absolutely no plans of abandoning the blog, not at all! I just need to let this phase pass and step back for a moment. This doesn't mean radio silence, I'll pop in every now and then when I can :7.

The monster's hands are fixed on your form, one grabbing the meat of your ass, the other ghosting over the curve on the small of your back. Large wings shield you from the world. A loud, satisfied rumble echoes, vibrating you slightly.

There's an air of tension in the room.

With the lights off, sound and touch amplify every minute change between you, and the way his smooth breathing pattern occasionally hitches lets you know there's a jolt of impulse this monster is carefully containing, maneuvering away. You think you know why.

It's the first time you have initiated contact.

Usually, the hybrid is the one either snaking his hands around your form or whispering for you to let him do so. He comes to you on his own terms and lays his desires on the ground, hoping to be welcomed.

Last time, you told him when to arrive. And you took the initiative of sitting on his lap.

Where this hybrid was once recognizable for his bursts of spontaneous, wanton touch- He now seems frozen. To move much is to chance having you shift away, so he only stirs the waters from time to time, holding onto you and enjoying the contact freely given.

You're not sure if you find this amusing or endearing. Both, likely.

He may be hoping you continue to lead.

" You know you can turn the lights on, right? "

A vaguely frustrated suggestion. It's not as if you don't know what Nerebus looks like by now. It's not like you haven't felt him, talked, gotten to know the monster enough to embrace his presence. It's unclear why he continues to prefer shadows and darkness to shroud himself in.

" It's easier to see you this way... "

He rumbles, and it feels like a half-truth.

Instead of pressing, you remove your head from the monster's shoulder and lean to watch his face, taking in the sole source of color and illumination that are his shielded eyes. Beautiful swirls, always dancing between the deepest blue and a mischievous yellow.

He meets your silent admiration through the veil that clutches onto his horns, blissful seconds, then firmly rotates your head when the first shiver of unease rolls down your back.

" You test yourself. " A huff.

" I'm not afraid of you. " It sounds petty, especially as you consider biting the finger that's closest to your lips.

" Your body is. "

" Yeah well... That's not the only thing it is right now. "

The soft, caressing fingers that cushioned you against him become warning, playful scrapes.

He pulls you closer still, and the start of his guiding motions on your hips is so subtle that you don't even question it.

Blind hands reach forward, grasping the jewelry that adorns his chest. It feels heavy, and yet the pull of it doesn't deform that sturdy anatomy. Traits typical of a concubus, though he has revealed to not be quite one. Still, you allow your body to be moved sweetly, playing with the texture of the chains that lead to his pendants.

" Do you like them? "

He murmurs, a bit quietly, like he fears the answer.

" They're beautiful on you. " The compliment is punctuated with a small tug, a test. His chest does not have a lot of give.

" Thank you. "

But the shudder in his tone suggests he feels it all the same, pressing you down on his lap slightly harder. Nerebus rolls his hips, and you pretend not to notice.

" For how much you like to decorate yourself, I'm surprised you don't have anything like a collar. "

He does not miss a beat, you would have laughed about it had your breath not started catching by now.

" Would it please you? "

A series of images flash through your mind's eye.

The following chuckles are only a little mocking.

An otherwise subtle roll becomes outright grinding, quiet panting, a tightening of wings that suggests his patience is not as eternal as he makes it seem.

But he does not struggle for more, doesn't demand it of you. The monster just holds on, murmuring what you think might be promises of protection against your hair when you rest your head on the crook of his neck and close your eyes.

You feel so safe you could fall asleep like this.

Who is he?

Going by "Lesion", what you see is a parasitic lifeform, a type of monster which has a common ancestor with mimics and requires a host for long-term survival.

In the present, he introduces himself as a doctor who is quite familiar with the human form, and offers his "healthcare" services to those who don't like people asking too many questions about the humans they bring around. Which is precisely why his services are sometimes employed by The Clergy's Eye.

Why does he look like that?

Lesion is a particularly large member of his species, which has forced him to have to switch hosts several times, given his mass would often start mutating and deforming the bodies he acquired- Be they human or not.

Upon having acquired his last host, a human male on the brink of death, he determines there's nothing to lose if he decides to test a little theory. It just so happens that, exerting pressure around limbs and specific stress points of the host body keeps it from deforming wildly upon use. Unfortunately, he only truly perfected this technique by the time the host head was already a little... Quirky. Thus, Lesion keeps his especially tight outfit at almost all times and prefers to have his head shielded.

While he once did take care to blend in with others of the species whose bodies he took, Lesion is now much too confident and nonchalant to care if he comes off as blatantly wrong and repulsive- Even going as far as to sometimes be mildly amused by the way people gawk at his horrific visage.

Why humans?

Short answer, fetish.

Long answer- A preference he developed throughout time. Human bodies, not loaded with magic as monster bodies often tend to be, offer Lesion a lot more freedom in what he can do with them, how he can manipulate and get to know their flesh. Lesion finds great comfort in the insides of the human species, which you can interpret in all manner of ways really.

He has a strange enamoration with the species and seeks to know more bodies, more humans. He can't get enough of them. A much more sickly obsession than what some others have exhibited here.

Why a doctor?

How else do you think people would grant him access to their bodies? Or the bodies of humans they keep for themselves?

When medicine fails, when societal systems are not an option, when you've tried everything and you're still sick... Call Lesion, the good doctor. He'll fix you, or he'll fix your human.

The parasite's methods are the stuff of nightmares. If you squirm at the thought of injections and incisions, then know that Lesion operates mostly by invading the bodies of those he aims to treat. There's nothing quite as disgusting as watching his arm untangle into a mess of red gore with extremely meticulous movement. Tendrils of muscle and slick and cartilage that cling to your mouth, your nostrils, your ears, invading you from all sides, quick, relentless- You gag and wheeze and cry for a couple of agonizing seconds and then... He taps out those reflexes.

But the alien, wrong sensation remains. You feel him in places no such entity is ever meant to touch. Your form is violated by a shifting mass that wishes to know all, a mass that changes and tweaks and tugs at your insides. The worst part is the perverted glee making his borrowed body overheat.

Your prize is health, but is the cost of his visit really worth it?

What is he like?

Dry, initially.

Lesion speaks in a very matter-of-fact way. He's prone to silence, and doesn't waste saliva when there's no need to. His attempts at humor usually fall a little short and land oddly.

While very open with the way he feels and what he wishes to do, the doctor has acquired a bit of an ego and does not respond well to taunts regarding his success rate.

A fan of discipline and routine, his love language shows through acts of what he considers to be doting, and somewhat controlling tendencies. His obsession is kept as a long-term patient or specimen, not quite a guinea pig, but always someone whose very life Lesion holds in his hands.

"You're surprisingly well-kept for a roamer." He's crowding her, studying. "Ah, you must be a domestic then, who's your monster?"

Annoyed, the doctor only motions for Piglet to sit on the main kitchen isle again, which she begrudgingly does, opening her mouth. His dominant arm splits into countless writhing fleshy segments, the majority used to steady her head, while a dexterous minority venture inside her mouth at a measured pace. Piglet chokes hard once, then creepily, the reflex is suppressed. "As you have chosen to stay, I feel I should report my findings in real time. Her diet is very complete and her state of captivity has not atrophied her muscles to a notable degree, good job." He does something to her eyes, taking control of them and forcing them to move in different directions. It clearly scares the woman. "Senses are standard, but her eyes are too dry. Keep her out of the freezer, and definitely the... What did you call it, pig pens?" He almost snickers, then starts tugging at the woman's clothing.

Something dark washes over your match's face, filling you with the same terror and panic that permeated your every cell when you were ripped out of the comfort of your bed earlier.

A blistering silence.

The demon behind you, if you can even call him that, continues his idle exploration of your figure. Digits turn your chin from side to side, then palp at your arms, your thighs. He brushes hands past the meat of your ass and uses his palms to test the weight of your breasts. Finally, an inkling of courage, and humiliation, makes you glance up- And you wish you hadn't.

The gaping, tooth-filled maw that faces you is so nightmarish you scream reflexively, met with an unflinching glowing eye. He chuckles, a fistful of your hair pulling your neck back so you get an even better view, so you can get closer to that pit of darkness. It's so large... Why is his mouth so large? Where are his insides? It's just pitch black. He could bite you. He could bite your face off- God, he's so disgusting, this is the most repulsive thing you've ever seen and it's alive, it's talking...

The other demon calls, making the undead pause his deliberate frightening efforts to focus, petting your hair instead.

" I'll buy her off you. "

" You can't pay up. " The monster immediately shoots back, bending you forward by the neck to them, as if showing off a farm animal. " Not for this. She's too pristine for you. I know clients that could pay five times what you'll ever make in a lifetime. Just to play with her once or twice. "

Desperation settles, and it looks ugly, distorting the otherwise appealing features of your stressed match.

" There has to be something- Please, I promise I'll get it- Don't sell her off! "

You can hardly breathe between the pauses they make.

A previously tight grip of your throat becomes a trace up its side, a single dry finger exploring, tracing.

" You know what? I think I won't. "

The other stutters, lips wobbling. " Th- Thank- "

" Yes, I think I'm keeping this one for myself. It's been a while, after all... "

Both of you freeze, now twice as frigid as the undead, hearing him chuckle as if this were a particularly amusing little prank.

You're tugged closer to the tall monster, his grotesque chin resting on the top of your head as he stares his borderline crying underling down for a few moments, before beginning to wordlessly tug you away.

When you glance back, nearly stumbling over your steps, you find your match shaking in place, silent tears running down their cheeks while their coworker places a hand on their shoulder. Comfort.

They know there's not a glimpse of a chance.

Just imagining you're a local and you slowly see your town's opinion shift on the big pervert. You're the last hold out and you're now known as the town killjoy for not being enthusiastic about the new neighbor. Now Vesper is desperately trying to get under your skirts after discovering your existence and you're trying everything tactic you can to just go about your days. Key word Trying.

It's not even the challenge of getting that one stickler to finally let loose (maybe in more ways than one). It stopped being about that a long time ago.

Now Vesper is just genuinely curious. Why are you so reserved? Why such a little killjoy? Nevertheless, any self-respecting demon would have left you alone by now, especially former royalty. But Vesper smells something on you, something that tells him you have real potential, he just needs to scratch at it. He needs to crack you open like a nut and now that he's retired, you're a full time case study.

Thing is, so very oddly, the two of you are almost becoming friends? You are, and he's not kidding here, the first friend he's never fucked. He shows up, you expect him by now, you talk, you deny his half-hearted attempts to invite you over with varying effort, and the interaction repeats. He could end the game in a snap of fingers, definitely, but it has become strangely fun.

It's a bit weird of him to feel this way now, of all times, but Vesper is slowly coming to terms with the fact that he might want more than to just turn your attitude around. He may want to have you all for himself...

My mind has been fixated on this post for a while now. The last part specifically. With the added information of having an incubus’s mark as a demon, it makes it so interesting to wonder what Santi must’ve been thinking.

He’s in heat, so he’s delirious with magic, but it’s curious how he sees this weak, pathetic concubus and takes enough energy to kill them. Only, maybe, for some wires to cross in his head and decide to give them his mark, albeit painfully, as they’re passed out.

I’m not sure if he did it to humiliate them as a lower rank, or to stake his claim on them. “This is mine and I’ll mark them as such.” He probably feels more conflicted about reader after that. Would that make him more hostile? I bet he sees reader obsessively gazing at their mons more than once.

(Sorry for the rambling. My mind just really likes that post, even though monster!reader isn’t your thing)

It perpetuates the cycle, neither cementing you as his partner nor a threat. It just further solidifies how he can't come to terms with your presence long-term.

Santi did that to you mid-heat because his mind got confused. Initially, yes, you were seen as no more than a concubus in his territory, someone who can steal prey from him. But as soon as he started "fighting" you for dominance, some part of him did get reminded of genuine sex he's had with you. Thus he's somewhere between trying to kill you abd trying to feed you- Incredibly contradictory and confusing.

Inevitably, his muddled brain wonders why, if you belong to him, he can't mark you. Something's wrong, isn't it? If you're going to be kept for this long, you must be marked, his biology screams. He wouldn't typically resort to that level of violence, but in the place of magic that won't take are claws that can certainly make sloppy work of uncovered skin.

When out of a rut, Santi reacts to his own work with a mixture of embarrassment and disgust. You keep letting him do this shit to you. After being shown dozens of times that this could never work out, you persist and you endure and you crave his contact like a beaten dog who doesn't know better. Though, if he's honest with himself, he doesn't think he'd let you go now, so you sentenced yourself to it.

You asked him to "fix it" more than once. As Santi feeds you enough to recover, the wound he created tries to heal, to erase scarring and scabbing. Sometimes he catches you ripping away at your own body's efforts to heal and sighs, knowing that you might get an infection with how frenzied you become. Or ruin it. If you ruined the "look" of it you'd probably self-mutilate into a bloody mess.

He might as well be the one to do it. It seems to calm you down.

Maybe Santi's doing this out of genuine care. Maybe he's just thinking about it as a way to maintain your fragile mind. You always cry when he scratches and pierces his claws over the same pattern, it's always emotional to you, like you're being marked all over again.

Santi never fails to leave you alone to deal with your own blood and fresh wound afterwards, escaping outside The Clergy to get his mind off the repulsive shit he's doing.

For sure, Tetrils has an easier time in water than he does in the very dry zones that comprise most cities. Having already learned the creature's limitations and requirements, the scientists that currently study Tetrils make efforts to keep certain areas of his enclosure humid and frequently get the alien to bodies of water.

Tetrils seems to know how to swim innately and has some movement grace, yet surprisingly, does not stay underwater for long. This doesn't seem to be a matter of breathing difficulties, Tetrils just comes back up and enjoys being moist. Scientists suspect it has to do with the fact that he seemingly can't vocalize underwater. The alien has been seen hunting fish for consumption however.

There have been no noted differences between saltwater and freshwater varieties, save for the fact that Tetrils is quicker to leave saltwater.

He is aware enough to know that humans can't breathe underwater, though likes to watch them swim. It may be a simple fascination with the fact that humans aren't very good swimmers overall.

He has the most fun time trying to find you. It's genuinely a challenge for you to remain blended in, and only then do you realize the horrifying level at which Livius is in tune with his every staff member's mannerisms and appearance.

He experiences a boiling jealousy for your effortless impersonation, if that wasn't predictable- But if anything, that just keeps feeding into his obsession.

Another fun aspect of this is that Livius still manages to find a kernel of you. A core part of you that remains through every body and identity you steal, and he puts on those same traits of yours perfectly.

Livius might be the only one out there who really sees you for who you are. At least he certainly makes you feel like it.

It still affect Nerebus in a way, because he does need sex to remain healthy, and the terror he induces is not conducive to sex for 99% of people. Gargoyle monsters see him as incompetent, concubi lament his disability. He'd be unstoppable without that, surely- They comment.

Some monsters hide their face because they are sensitive to light and stimulus. Others hide their face because they're considered "disfigured" by the societies around them. And ironically, some hide gorgeous faces, because admiration is not what those sculpted features attract.

He is weak to this. Sure, Morell got some bulk from his parents, but a lot of his physique is acquired through his work, and, well- He's sure he comes off as extremely strong to a piggy.

Maybe that's how you weaseled out of the cutting isle, by groping his arms and gushing over how capable the chef is. A rational part of Morell knows you just want to keep your ass safe, but this is a nice change of pace- And the more he looks at you, the more he thinks you have what it takes to bare his child.
