Rin simply laughed in response, holding on tight just in case Len tried to drop her - which thankfully didn’t seem all that likely at the moment, but if she went down she sure as hell was going to take him with her. The feeling of cold water soaking into her clothes wasn’t exactly comfortable, but it would be worth it. She was having fun, anyway.

     "You’d better not fall and crush me."

Len was trying to concentrate so much, his tongue sticking out ever so slightly. He really didn't want to stand on an egg. In fact he didn't want to break any at all. Even though this was Rin's idea if he broke the egg he could imagine it would be him getting the most trouble.

"Don't tempt me, I might have to keep that as a plan"

Not one he would probably use though, that was one way to guarantee broken eggs and a grounding for life. If not longer, if they could find a way.

Hmm? Where did you hear that? I wouldn't dream of doing anything like that.

     "I so can do it!”

There was no way she was going to be shown up on this - Rin had expected this and she’d practiced several times beforehand, just in case. She hopped onto the first cushion, making her way across the path she’d laid out earlier and then back again. As suspected, it was WAY too easy. 

     "It’ll be a bit different for you though, because…"

She skipped around to behind Len, placing her hands on his shoulders and leaping on to his back, clinging on tight. Of course, this meant she was going to get soaked too, but it was too late to look back now.

     "…it’s a strength test."

Len was just waiting for Rin to screw up but she didn't. It was a disappointment yes but at least it meant they wouldn't get in trouble for breaking any eggs in the hallway. He got himself ready to start but before he could even take the first step Rin had moved too. He'd kinda ignored her comment on it being harder, just guessing she'd practised or something, but when she climbed onto his back his very nearly stumbled forward onto some eggs in surprise.

"No this isn't fair Rin, come on."

He smiled though, attempting to lift her onto his back a bit more. Hopefully she got just as soaked as him. He took his first step onto a cushion and decided he would try to take it slow. There was no way he was going to be able to jump with Rin on his back, he'd only just started being able to carry her to begin with.

    “It is an obstacle course. But it’s also a test.”

Oh wait, was that a smile? Yes, success! That was two goals accomplished already then. Her own smile broadened as she tried to shield her face from the droplets being flicked her way.

     "Alright! Test the second. Follow me!"

Not that he’d need to, she’d already grabbed hold of his wrist and was dragging him the short distance across the hall, towards the next obstacle. Pillow islands surrounded by many, many dangerously placed eggs. Actually, this looked a bit too easy, now she thought about it. She might have to ramp up the difficulty a little bit. 

     "I call this part ‘Eggwalk’. Or ‘Walking on Eggshells’. That’s another pretty hilarious title I just thought of. It’s like the floor is lava, except with eggs. You have to stay off the egg-floor or you’ll crack them all and we’ll both get grounded. The stakes are high on this one.”

Len continued to flick water at Rin until she grabbed his wrist. He felt like he wouldn't really like the next test but at the same time it was entertaining.

He was right to feel like he wouldn't like it tough, he'd had enough of eggs and now the floor was covered in them out here too. As much as he thought he could possibly do this one without cracking any he wasn't sure how much difficulty would be added now he was soaked.

"How do you even come up with these things, can you even do this test? I bet not."

He was teasing her a bit, stalling time before he had to do the second test. The floor was lava was a game they played a lot an apparently people didn't like the cushions of the main room being thrown about the building. They should try it again some time.

Okay, that was it. She couldn’t take it any more - this moment was exactly what she hoped for. Filled with a sense of achievement and self-satisfaction, the blonde dropped the now empty bucket on the floor and released an almighty cackle.

     "Test one - agility. Failed!"

Man, that felt so good. This would have to happen again in the future - even if her brother didn’t stop being a giant assnugget after this, it would be worth it. 

     "Ready to move on to the second task?!"

"Wait what? Test? I thought this was just an obstacle course?"

The blonde rolled his eyes slightly but he couldn't stop himself from smiling even slightly. He'd have to admit he'd missed just hanging around with his twin, not that he would say it out loud. He wasn't saying anything like that while he was still soaking wet, but at least he could flick some of the water in Rin's general direction.

"Okay then, if this is turning into a test I'm ready to move on."

As he spoke he climbed over the last of the bookcase and tried to guess what was next on Rin's little obstacle course test.

Wanting the timing to be perfect, Rin waited until Len was almost over the bookshelf-barrier before stepping out into plain sight. The grin on her face widened, and she allowed just enough time for her brother to possibly work out what was going to happen before launching the contents of the bucket at him. The floor was going to be soaked through and there were ice cubes everywhere now, but as far as she could tell (and she COULD tell) she’d hit her target and that’s what mattered.

Len was almost over the bookshelf when he noticed Rin and he automatically knew she was up to something. He'd been dumb not to look around before leaving his room, he probably would have seen her before.

"Ri-." Before he could say anything else and tell her not to do it he was soaked. He'd noticed the bucket a bit too late but he knew Rin had something. He stood there for a while, water dripping from his hair and ice cubes surrounding him on the floor. Hopefully this was worth it for Rin because whenever someone found out she would be in major trouble.

"Hello Rin."

Pressing herself up against the wall, Rin stayed as still as she could. She wasn’t planning on throwing the water just yet - she’d wait until Len had at least started on the bookcase before drenching him, otherwise he’d probably sulk and just retreat back into his room.

Unfortunately, she was well aware that the other Kagamine would probably be unreasonably annoyed with her initially, but hopefully that wouldn’t last. Her brother had been really moody and uptight lately, and mostly this whole thing was an attempt to get him to loosen up a little bit again. She’d actually missed spending time with him, too.

…Also he’d been getting on her nerves a lot, so drenching her brother in ice-cold water followed by a gruelling workout seemed a decent punishment. Maybe he’d be nicer to her in the future, the little nerd.

Len had that feeling that something would happen when he left his room, it was something he liked to call his 'twin danger senses'. In other words Rin was planning more than what he could guess right now. The only problem was they tended to go off a lot more than needed because she was probably always planning something.

He took a few minutes before moving into the doorway and looking at the floor in front of him. A bookshelf? He hadn't been seeing things. Hopefully it wasn't one of the important bookshelves, although how Rin got it in front of his door would forever be a mystery to him.

Deciding it was better to just get it over with, Len started his attempt at climbing over and past the obstacle number one.

Finally finished with her masterpiece, Rin took a step back and put her hands on her hips, surveying her work. A bookcase lay on its side across Len’s doorway, preventing an easy escape from the room. Next to it sat a bucket of cold water (ice cubes included), ready for an agility test. A path of evenly spaced cushions lead the way across the hall, sort of in a The Floor Is Lava way- except in this case, the floor was eggs. So many eggs. She would be so done for if they all got smashed into the carpet, so this part at least had better go right. By the stairs were three ropes at different heights, the final hurdles before the descent to the next stage. 

With a wide grin set on her face, the blonde knocked a few times on her brother’s door. She then took her place beside it, picking up the bucket and holding it to her chest as she leant back against the wall.

It begins.

Len tried to ignore the knocking, maybe if he pretended to not be in Rin would believe it? Okay no that was about as likely as her removing the pile of eggs from his room any time soon. Luckily none of them had smashed but it was getting a bit weird just having them take up a corner now he'd moved them all together.

He gave it a few seconds before walking over to his door. What kind of trap had Rin planted? It could literally be anything and that was the problem. He'd have to be prepared for it.

The blonde opened the door slowly, staying behind it as he did and just peeking around the side. The first thing that caught his eye was the bookcase and he could already see this was not going to be easy.
