Being chronically ill as a young person is so isolating.
How do you make friends when the only thing you ever leave your house for is doctors appointments? Where do you make friends? Online friendships are great, yes absolutely, but it's not the same. How do you keep friends when your disabilities and chronic illnesses dictate every part of your life?
And everyone else my age is too busy with school to keep in contact with someone they don't see in every day life. If you don't go to school and no sports or anything.... It feels impossible to make any friends your age.

I feel like I’m already dead but I have to keep on living
What people don’t tell you about using a wheelchair is that you’ll usually come across one of two things:
1. People staring. Not the nice, just a little curious type of staring either (if there’s even such a thing?). No, this is the type of staring that seems to cut deep within and judge every single life choice you’ve ever made up until that point. What’s with that 🤷♀️
2. You are completely ignored. Get used to people talking over you as if you’ve suddenly lost the ability to understand even the most basic of sentences because it happens. A lot.
Wild concept that shouldn’t be wild and the coldest take ever: disabled adults are *adults* and not just children trapped in adult bodies
Disabled adults have sex
Disabled adults do drugs
Disabled adults curse
Disabled adults get piercings and tattoos
Disabled adults can make adult decisions and act and behave like adults because we are adults
It’s just so weird for people to constantly infantilize me all because of my mobility aids when I’m not a child!!!
