Rhyming For Kicks 2018

With the help of friends and family, the 2nd edition of Rhyming For Kicks, by brkfst for dinner and Hunting For Kicks,This passed Saturday(30th June 2018) we were invited to Rhyming For Kicks at Anatomy in Braamfontein.

Over the course of 3 hours,dopest emerging rappers huddled around sneaker-culture icon, Mkay Frash, and founder of brkfst for dinner, Fred Kayembe, with the aspiration to impress and walk away with a fresh pair of sneakers.  In a spirited display of passion, laughter, nerves and lyricism, each hopeful gave their best and either rose to the occasion or fell short of the robust crowd’s approval.

When it was all said and done,pairs of sneakers, donated by friends of the culture including, Riky Rick, Anthea Poulos, Didi Monsta, Frypan, Fratpack and more, were given out, punctuating the thrilling experience.

FANTA SQUAD SERIES FOR TEENS BY TEENS!

Wednesday, 27 June 2018. Fruit flavoured drink, Fanta is excited to bring you a South African first in the form of online teen series - The Fanta Squad! The Fanta Squad YouTube series is a new platform for action-packed, bitesize episodes celebrating teen culture in their very own unique way.

The edgy episodes will be stories created by teens for teens with moments of laughter, intrigue and epic adventure – all accessible on one channel. The Fanta Squad includes Fanta Teen Marketing Director, Thulasizwe Dambuza, affectionately known as ‘Lasizwe’, alongside local actor and comedian Siyabulela Deli better known as ‘TaFire’, adventure vlogger Matthew Menton and TV presenter Katlego Ncala.

The Fanta Squad series is created to encourage youth to express themselves in a fun and interactive way on a platform they are most familiar with. “We gave four dynamic individuals an opportunity to lead the engagement of teens nationwide through Fanta’s new online show,” says Mukundi Munzhelele, Fanta Senior Brand Manager. “We look forward to getting young people involved by bringing their own flavour to the show by sharing their ideas and co-creating some of the upcoming episodes with the Fanta Squad”, adds Munzhelele.

Fanta will be giving everyone the opportunity to add their views on what they think the Fanta Squad’s challenges should be. Fanta Teen Marketing Director, Lasizwe Dambuza said “OMG, we are so excited that Fanta is giving us an opportunity to be ourselves and still have fun whilst interacting with teens everywhere.”

The challenges for the series are quirky and unconventional tasks which will be completed by The Fanta Squad. The episodes will range from the Fanta Squad conquering their inner fears to spending a day as triplets.

The 13-week Fanta Squad show will be live on YouTube with a series of episodes every Thursday, 4pm from the 28th of June - bringing everyone a moment of juicy entertainment. Viewers will have an opportunity to download the shows on the Fanta South Africa YouTube channel to view and share them again and again!

Select Sessions happens on the the first Thursday of every month and features live acts, exclusive DJ sets, brand and label collabs, and so much more. Last night(03 May 2018) we were blessed with performances by Frank Casino and Major League Djz,sadly Riky Rick couldn't make it after his declaration of taking a break from music. The kids of Braamfontein came in by numbers and turnt up all the way through the night with the help of our energetic host Sandile G.Q Ntshingila MTV Base Africa Presenter.

What's the point of thinking? Part 1

A photoset that showcases what the subject is thinking during a photoshoot.

In most cases people tend to be very vain when they are being taken pictures so Acute Angle Photography wanted to highlight that combination of style and what those stylish people are thinking at that particular time. The edit is very old school and grainy. A mixture of different locations were used around Johannesburg. Different colour patterns to show off winter street style.

The third SELECT x SESSIONS for 2018 kicked off at 6pm last night (05.04.2018), and featured an all-star lineup of Jozi hitters.

Last night we had the one and only DJ Kenzhero, with the uber talented Menzi XL  and support from Ronald Adlai.    Select Sessions happens on the the first Thursday of every month and features live acts, exclusive DJ  sets, brand and label collabs, and so much more.     This epic monthly session starts at 6pm and is wrapped up by 10pm, so make sure you get there early. Access is based on a first come, first served basis and free if you’re signed up to the PUMA Select  database. Right of admission is reserved.
